Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas organized a workshop in Ahmedabad
 
●        A successful workshop was organized by the government yesterday in Ahmedabad to provide information about the uniform open area licensing policy of hydrocarbons excavation to the potential investors and information about the tender process.
●        In this workshop organized by the Directorate of Hydrocarbons, more than 150 excavations and production companies, investors, entrepreneurs and academicians participated, including the Director General of Hydrocarbons (DGH) and senior government officials.
 
Swedish researchers made new discoveries for cancer treatment
 
●        According to a recent research done by Swedish researchers, the microscopic molecules formed in the human body, which specifically prevent the enzyme containing selenium in the human body, can become an important tool for fighting cancer.
●        Researchers released this fact after experimentation with molecules in the observatory at 60 different types of cancer cells.
●        This information was published in the American Medical Journal 'Science Translational Medicine' on February 14, 2018.
 
Instructions to cut water for Tamil Nadu
 
●        On the Cauvery Water dispute, the Supreme Court has decreed the decision on 16 February 2018 to reduce the share of water received by Tamil Nadu and give it to Karnataka.
●        According to the order of the Supreme Court, the share of water received to Tamil Nadu has been reduced to 192 to 177.25 TMC.
●        The court also said that after the implementation of the National Water Policy, no state can give its exclusive right over a river which passes through another state after the start.
 
Indian Railways announces 90,000 posts recruitment drive
 
●        The Ministry of Railways has declared the world's largest recruitment process for 89,409 posts in Group C Level-I and Level-II categories.
●        Group C Level-II posts such as Auxiliary Loco Pilot (ALP), Technicians (Fitter, Crane Driver, Blacksmith, Joining) and Group C Level-I (the then Group-D) posts such as Track Maintainer, Point Man, Helper, Gatman, Porter Online applications have been invited for.

Reservation Chart no longer takes off from 400 stations
 
●        Indian Railways have decided that reservation chart will not be pasted on the coaches of trains departing from A, A and B category railway stations.
●        You can see your name in the Traveler Reservation Chart on the Plasma Screen at these stations. This arrangement will start from March 1.
●        Railways say that the number of total stations in these three categories is about 400.
●        These include more than half a dozen railway stations in Delhi.
 
Primary healthcare centers and public drug stores can be opened at railway stations.
 
●        Indian Railways can open primary healthcare center with public drug stores at 7,000 stations across the country and can be equipped with sanitary pad vending machines.
●        In the budget of 2018-19, the countrywide healthcare plan has been proposed, the Railways will take this step under it.
●        The Ministry of Railways had proposed that this infrastructure be used to provide healthcare services on affordable charges.

The contestants will have to tell their source of income, the Supreme Court directive.
 
●        The Supreme Court directed on Friday that it would be compulsory to declare the source of income for candidates contesting the elections.
●        Candidates will also need to give their life partner and dependent source of income.
●        The Supreme Court, while hearing the petition filed by NGO Lok Pahari, gave this direction.

ISRO plans to leave Chandrayaan-2 mission around April this year
 
●        Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is planning to release Chandrayaan-2 mission around April this year.
●        He said that Chandrayaan-2 will be the second mission of the country on the moon.
●        Chandrayaan-2 is a challenging mission because for the first time we will take an artificial satellite, a lender and a rover in the moon.

Two-day National Conference on "Agriculture 2022- doubling the income of farmers"
●        A national conference on "Agriculture 2022- doubling the income of farmers" is being organized in the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC), Pusa, New Delhi.
●        This is a two-day conference which will be held on 19th and 20th February, 2018 respectively.
●        This conference is being organized on the suggestion of the Hon'ble Prime Minister to find various important issues related to agriculture and farmer welfare and their proper solution.

Activating civilian airstrip in Dehradun
 
●        Under the general practice of activating civilian airstrip by Indian Air Force, 2 SU-30 MK1 aircraft will be operated from Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun.
●        Both of these aircraft will operate from the airstrip of Jolly Grant for 2 days from February 19, 2018 and after getting acquainted with the entire area will reach their actual location.

●        The Indian team defeated the hosts South Africa by 8 wickets in the sixth one-dayer to make the ODI series 5-1.
●        The South African team, batting first, scored all 20 wickets in 46.5 overs and scored 204 runs.
●        In reply, the Indian team scored an easy victory, losing 2 wickets in 32.1 overs and making 206 runs.

Fraud of Rs 61,260 crore from banks in 5 years
 
●        In the last five years till March 31, 2017, the government banks gave information about 8,670 loan frauds and they owed Rs 61,260 crore to the total.
●        Loan fraud in India is the case where the borrower deliberately cheats the banks and does not pay the loan to the bank.
●        Statistics show how big the problem of the banking sector under the burden of trapped debt.
●        The debt trapped banks have reached $ 149 billion last year.
 
 Walmart prepares to buy 40 percent stake in Flipkart
 
●        Walmart is preparing to buy 40 per cent stake in Flipkart, the e-commerce company that gives direct hit to Amjon in Asia's third largest economy.
●        If the two sides agree, then it will be one of the biggest foreign deals of the American retailer company.
●        The deal can start early next week.

●        Shares of non-banking finance company Bajaj Finance have given a return of 370 times in the last 15 years.

Rs 25 thousand additional tax exemption granted to Divyans, amendment in the Finance Bill
 
●        The Government has amended the Finance Bill to protect the losses incurred by the budget proposals to the Hindus.
●        On February 1, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had proposed to give standardized accommodation of 40 thousand rupees by abolishing the medical and transport allowance that was given to the people.
●        These budget proposals were going to increase the tax liability of Rs 13,400 to the Hindus, but the revision now allows the rebels to get an additional tax rebate of 25 thousand rupees.
●        These budget proposals of the government will come into effect from April 1, 2018 after the approval of the Parliament session in March.
