PM Modi and Japanese PM Abe lay foundation stone for India’s first High Speed Rail project
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe today jointly laid the foundation stone for India’s first high speed rail project between Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
● Speaking on the occasion, at a large public meeting in Ahmedabad, the Prime Minister spoke of the high ambition and willpower of “New India.”
● He congratulated the people of India on the occasion, and said that the bullet train project will provide speed and progress, and deliver results quickly.
● He said the Government’s focus is on increasing productivity through high speed connectivity.
● The Prime Minister thanked Japan for the technical and financial help given to India, for this project.
● He praised Prime Minister Abe for the fact that this project is being launched within such a short time.
4 Japanese Industrial Townships will be setup
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe arrived in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
● Mr. Abe, who is accompanied by his wife Akie Abe is in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home State Gujarat to attend the 12th Indo-Japan Summit and to lay foundation for high-speed bullet trains.
● Project of Varanasi Convention Centre is a symbol of cultural co-operation between Kyoto city of Japan and Varanasi.
● India and Japan are ancient civilisations and vibrant democracies. We know how to distribute the benefits to people, he says.
● A series of administrative reforms have significantly improved the business sentiment in the country.
● Japan can benefit tremendously with the size and scale of our potential & skilled hands that India offers, says Mr. Modi.

MOU between the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) for Automatic and Regular Exchange of Information
Taking forward the initiative launched by the Government of India to curb the menace of shell companies, money laundering and black money in the country and prevent misuse of corporate structure by shell companies for various illegal purposes, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) have now concluded a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for data exchange, on 6th September, 2017.
● The MoU will facilitate the sharing of data and information between CBDT and MCA on an automatic and regular basis.
● It will enable sharing of specific information such as Permanent Account Number (PAN) data in respect of corporates, Income Tax returns (ITRs) of corporates, financial statements filed with the Registrar by corporates, returns of allotment of shares, audit reports and statements of financial transactions (SFT) received from banks relating to corporates.
● The MoU will ensure that both MCA and CBDT have seamless PAN-CIN (Corporate Identity Number) and PAN-DIN (Director Identity Number) linkage for regulatory purposes.
● The information shared will pertain to both Indian corporates as well as foreign corporates operating in India.
● In addition to regular exchange of data, CBDT and MCA will also exchange with each other, on request, any information available in their respective databases, for the purpose of carrying out scrutiny, inspection, investigation and prosecution.
Defence Minister felicitates Cantonment Boards on ODF Certification as a part of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan
Defence Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman felicitated 10 Cantonment Boards of Central Command on their achievement of acquiring ‘Open Defecation Free (ODF)’ status, in a function organized at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi (UP), today.
● Presidents, Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and elected members of the Cantonment Boards were awarded the certificate by the Minister during the event.
● Smt Sitharaman complimented the Cantonment Boards for their efforts in achieving the ODF target and urged the boards to sustain and further improve the facilities created and drives conducted by them, with more zeal and enthusiasm.
● She appreciated the efforts of children as Swachhata Doots- the cleanliness ambassadors.
● She said that this goodwill gesture will make the coming generations emphasize cleanliness in their lives.
● The Defence Minister said that the Defence Ministry is working on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in phases.
● The first phase includes the cleanliness drive of Cantonment Boards and the municipal wards nearby.
● This phase involves the recycling of wastes as well as segregation of solid and liquid wastes.
NGT refuses to lift ban on 10-year-old diesel vehicles in Delhi-NCR
The National Green Tribunal on Thursday dismissed the Union government’s plea asking for modification in its order banning 10-year-old diesel vehicles in Delhi-NCR.
● The green court, which was hearing the petition as part of the Vardhaman Kaushik case, which deals with air pollution in the city, noted that emission from diesel vehicles is carcinogenic in nature and one diesel vehicle causes pollution equivalent to 24 petrol vehicles or otherwise 40 CNG vehicles.
● A bench headed by NGT chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar dismissed the Centre’s plea on the ground that the Supreme Court has also junked a similar plea.
● The NGT bench said that the Union ministry of road transport and highways, which had sought modification of its April 7, 2015 order, did not file any review plea and moved the tribunal “in the guise of seeking modification”.
● The bench which delivered the judgment also included Justices Jawad Rahim, RS Rathore and one expert member, BS Sajwan.
HDFC Bank is No 1 in BrandZ India Top 50 Jio no. 11
HDFC Bank retained its No 1 position in the BrandZ India top 50, doubling its brand value since 2014 with a sustained focus on improving services.
● The leading private sector lender improved its brand value from USD 9.4 billion to USD 18 billion since 2014, said research agency Kantar Millward Brown in a statement here.
● The bank has retained the top slot for the fourth year in a row.
● The BrandZ Top 50 Most Valuable Indian Brands 2017 was announced today by WPP and Kantar Millward Brown.
● "As reflected in this year's ranking, the most agile Indian brands have recognised the complexity in the market, and achieved just the right balance between aspirational and affordable," he added.
● There were seven newcomers to the ranking, the report said.
● Telecom provider Reliance Jio ranks at No 11, months after its launch.
● Other new entrants included DMart, appliance brand Whirlpool, insurance brand Bajaj Allianz, Canara Bank and entertainment brands Sun Direct and DishTV.
President Kovind presents Rajbhasha awards on Hindi Diwas
President Ram Nath Kovind presented the Rajbhasha awards on the occasion of Hindi Diwas at a function held here today.

IOC announced 2024 and 2028 host cities of the Olympics
Paris and Los Angeles have been announced as respective hosts of the 2024 and 2028 Olympic Games.
● The "tripartite agreement" between the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028 was ratified in the Peruvian capital Lima on Wednesday.
● The historic compromise sees both cities join London as three-time hosts of the summer Games, with Paris getting its wish to go first and celebrate the 100th anniversary of its last Olympics in 1924.
● LA, meanwhile, gets the certainty of a Games without a bidding contest and early access to at least £1.8bn in shared revenue to kick-start its legacy plans 11 years early.
प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी और जापान के प्रधानमंत्री श्री शिन्जो आबे ने भारत की पहली बुलेट रेल परियोजना की आधारशिला रखी
प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी और जापान के प्रधानमंत्री श्री शिन्जो आबे ने आज संयुक्त रूप से मुम्बई और अहमदाबाद के बीच भारत की पहली तेज गति वाली बुलेट रेल परियोजना की आधारशिला रखी।
● अहमदाबाद में इस मौके पर मौजूद जनसमुदाय को सम्बोधित करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने “न्यू इंडिया” की उच्च महत्वाकांक्षा और इच्छाशक्ति के बारे में बताया।
● इस मौके पर उन्होंने देशवासियों को बधाई देते हुए कहा कि बुलेट रेलगाड़ी परियोजना तेजी एवं विकास उपलब्ध कराएगी और इसके जल्द नतीजे आएंगे।
● उन्होंने कहा कि सरकार का ध्यान तेज सम्पर्क के जरिये उत्पादन बढ़ाने पर है।
● प्रधानमंत्री ने इस परियोजना के लिए तकनीकी और आर्थिक मदद मुहैया कराने के लिए जापान को धन्यवाद दिया।
● उन्होंने इस बात के लिए प्रधानमंत्री श्री आबे की सराहना की कि इतने कम समय में इस परियोजना की शुरुआत हो रही है।
● प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि तेज गति वाली इस रेलगाड़ी से न सिर्फ दोनों शहरों की दूरियां घटेंगी, बल्कि सैकड़ों किलोमीटर दूर रह रहे लोग एक-दूसरे के नजदीक आएंगे।
● उन्होंने कहा कि मुम्बई-अहमदाबाद गलियारे पर एक नई आर्थिक व्यवस्था विकसित की जा रही है, जिससे पूरा इलाका एकल आर्थिक क्षेत्र के रूप में बदल जाएगा।
भारत में बसेंगे चार जापानी औद्योगिक शहर
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने गुरुवार को भारत-जापान बिजनस लीडर्स फोरम को संबोधित करते हुए यह बात कही।
● उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि गुजरात के अलावा कर्नाटक, राजस्थान और तमिलनाडु में जापान-इंडिया इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मैन्युफैक्चरिंग खोले जाएंगे।
● पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि दोनों देशों के रिश्तों की गहराई का पता आज लॉन्च हुई परियोजनाओं से चलता है।
● बुलेट ट्रेन प्रॉजेक्ट का जिक्र करते हुए पीएम ने कहा कि इस प्रॉजेक्ट से जुड़े ट्रेन इंस्टिट्यूट से नए भारत के निर्माता तैयार होंगे।
● उन्होंने नेक्स्ट जेनरेशन इलेक्ट्रिक और हाइब्रिड वाहनों के लिए लिथियम आयन बैटरी की फैक्ट्री की नींव रखे जाने का भी जिक्र किया।
● अपने चुनाव क्षेत्र वाराणसी में कन्वेंशन सेंटर खोले जाने के प्रॉजेक्ट को प्रधानमंत्री ने 'रुद्राक्ष' नाम दिया है।
● इससे पहले भारत और जापान के बीच 15 समझौतों पर दस्तखत किए गए।
● इनमें दोनों देशों के डाक विभागों का एक समझौता यह भी है कि डाक के जरिए भारत में जापानी खाना मंगाया जा सकेगा।
● साथ ही, प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने देश में जापानी रेस्ट्रॉन्ट खोलने का भी आह्वान किया।
कॉरपोरेट मामले मंत्रालय और केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड (सीबीडीटी) के बीच जानकारी के स्वतः और नियमित आदान-प्रदान के लिए समझौता ज्ञापन
देश में फर्जी कंपनियों (शेल कंपनियों), धनशोधन और काला धन की समस्या से निपटने और विभिन्न गैर-कानूनी उद्देश्यों के लिए शेल कंपनियों के जरिये कॉरपोरेट संरचना का दुरुपयोग रोकने के लिए भारत सरकार द्वारा शुरू किए गए कदम को आगे बढ़ाते हुए कॉरपोरेट मामले मंत्रालय (एमसीए) और केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड (सीबीडीटी) के बीच आंकड़ों के आदान-प्रदान के लिए 6 सितंबर, 2016 को आधिकारिक समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) किया गया।
● इस एमओयू से सीबीडीटी और मंत्रालय के बीच स्वतः और नियमित आधार पर आंकड़ें और जानकारी साझा करने की सुविधा होगी। इसके तहत स्थायी खाता संख्या (पैन), कॉरपोरेट कंपनियों से संबंधित आंकड़ें, कॉरपोरेट कंपनियों के आयकर रिटर्न (आईटीआर), कॉरपोरेट कंपनियों द्वारा रजिस्ट्रार के पास दर्ज की गई वित्तीय जानकारी, शेयर आवंटन का रिटर्न, लेखा परीक्षा रिपोर्ट और बैंक से कॉरपोरेट कंपनियों से संबंधित वित्तीय लेनदेन का विवरण साझा किया जा सकेगा।
● एमओयू से यह भी सुनिश्चित किया जाएगा कि नियामक उद्देश्यों के लिए मंत्रालय और सीबीडीटी के बीच असीमित पैन-सीआईएन (कॉर्पोरेट पहचान संख्या) और पैन-डीआईएन (निदेशक पहचान संख्या) लिंक हों।
● साझा जानकारी भारतीय कॉरपोरेट कंपनियों और देश में परिचालित विदेशी कॉरपोरेट कंपनियों से संबंधित होगी।
● आंकड़ों के नियमित आदान-प्रदान के अतिरिक्त सीबीडीटी और मंत्रालय के बीच जांच, निरीक्षण और अभियोजन के लिए अनुरोध करने पर उनसे संबंधित डाटाबेस में उपलब्ध किसी भी प्रकार की जानकारी का आदान-प्रदान भी किया जा सकेगा।
रक्षामंत्री ने स्वच्छ भारत अभियान के तहत “खुले में शौच से मुक्त” प्रमाण पत्र के लिए छावनी बोर्ड को बधाई दी
रक्षामंत्री श्रीमती निर्मला सीतारमण ने केन्द्रीय कमान के दस छावनी बोर्डों को खुले में ‘शौच से मुक्त’ का दर्जा हासिल करने की उनकी उपलब्धि पर आज बनारस हिन्दू विश्वविद्यालय, वाराणसी में आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में बधाई दी।
● कार्यक्रम के दौरान रक्षामंत्री ने छावनी बोर्डों के अध्यक्षों, मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारियों और उनके निर्वाचित सदस्यों को प्रमाण पत्र देकर पुरस्कृत किया।
● श्रीमती सीतारमण ने खुले में ‘शौच से मुक्त’ का लक्ष्य हासिल करने के लिए छावनी बोर्डों को बधाई दी और उनके द्वारा बनाई गई सुविधाओं और अभियानों को बनाए रखने और उनमें अधिक सुधार लाने के लिए और अधिक उमंग एवं उत्साह से काम करने का आग्रह किया।
● उन्होंने बच्चों की कोशिशों की सराहना करते हुए उन्हें ‘’स्वच्छता दूत’’ कहा।
● रक्षामंत्री ने कहा कि यह सद्भाव अगली पीढ़ियों की जिन्दगी में सफाई पर जोर देगा।
● श्रीमती सीतारमण ने कहा कि रक्षा मंत्रालय स्वच्छ भारत अभियान पर विभिन्न चरणों में काम कर रहा है।
● पहले चरण के तहत छावनी बोर्डों और आस-पास के नगर निकायों में सफाई अभियान शामिल हैं।
● इस चरण में कचरों की रिसाइक्लिंग और ठोस एवं द्रव्य कचरों को अलग-अलग करना शामिल है।
● श्रीमती निर्मला सीतारमण ने विशेष जोर देते हुए बताया कि दूसरा चरण 15 सितम्बर से शुरु होकर 2 अक्तूबर, 2017 तक चलेगा।
● इस दौरान सफाई अभियान ऊंचाई वाले स्थानों पर चलेगा और ग्लेशियर की सफाई होगी। उन्होंने बताया कि 2019 में महात्मा गांधी की 150वीं जयंती तक समग्र स्वच्छता अभियान सम्पन्न हो जाएगा।
● उन्होंने जोर देते हुए कहा कि अभियान अभी शुरुआती चरण में है और यह हमें सतत विकास की ओर ले जाएगा।
● केन्द्रीय कमान में 25 छावनी हैं, जिनमें से 14 छावनी ‘’खुले में शौच से मुक्त’’ घोषित की गई हैं। इनमें बरेली, दानापुर, देहरादून, जबलपुर, लैंडॉर, लैंड्सडॉउने, मेरठ, मथुरा, रानीखेत और वाराणसी शामिल हैं।
● इस मौके पर सेना और आईडीईएस के अन्य अधिकारियों के अलावा डिफेंस इस्टेट्स के महानिदेशक श्री जोजनेश्वर शर्मा और डिफेंस इस्टेट, केन्द्रीय कमान के प्रधान निदेशक श्रीमती दीपा बाजवा भी मौजूद थीं।
दिल्ली-एनसीआर में पुराने वाहनों के परिचालन पर एनजीटी की रोक बरकरार
नैशनल ग्रीन ट्राइब्यूनल ने केंद्र सरकार की याचिका ठुकराते हुए दिल्ली-एनसीआर में 10 साल से ज्यादा पुरानी गाड़ियों के परिचालन पर रोक को बरकरार रखा है।
● केंद्र सरकार ने रोक से संबंधित एनजीटी के पहले के आदेश में बदलाव करने की गुहार लगाई थी।
● एनजीटी ने गुरुवार के अपने आदेश में कहा कि एक डीजल गाड़ी 24 पेट्रोल गाड़ियों और 40 सीएनजी वीइकल्स के बराबर प्रदूषण फैलाती है।
● इससे दिल्ली की जहरीली हवा साफ करने में मदद तो मिलेगी, लेकिन डीजल वाहन मालिकों को कष्ट भी होगा।
● पुरानी गाड़ियों पर पाबंदी बरकरार रहने से दिल्ली में पेट्रोल कारों की बिक्री बढ़ जाएगी और डीजल संचालित कारों की बिक्री घटेगी।
● इसलिए थोड़ा इंतजार करने पर आपको सस्ते में बिल्कुल नई डीजल कार मिल जाएगी क्योंकि मांग घटने से कीमत गिरना तय है।
एचडीएफसी बैंक देश का सबसे बड़ा ब्रैंड, जियो 11वें स्थान पर
एचडीएफसी बैंक देश के प्रमुख 50 ब्रैंड्स की रैकिंग में लगातार चौथे साल शीर्ष पर रहा है, जबकि नई कंपनी रिलायंस जियो का इस सूची में 11वां स्थान है।
● रिसर्च कंपनी कैंटर मिलवार्ड ब्राउन की ब्रैंडजेड टॉप-50 मोस्ट वैल्यूएबल इंडियन ब्रैंड्स-2017 सूची में कहा गया है कि एचडीएफसी ने 2014 से लगातार अपने ब्रैंड मूल्य में इजाफा किया है और अपनी सेवाओं को बेहतर करने पर ध्यान दिया है।
● इसमें कहा गया है कि निजी क्षेत्र के इस बैंक का ब्रैंड मूल्य 2014 के 9.8 अरब डॉलर से बढ़कर 18 अरब डॉलर हो गया है।
● इसे कैंटर मिलवार्ड ब्राउन ने डब्ल्यूपीपी के साथ मिलकर जारी किया।
● इस सूची में इस साल कई नए नाम शामिल हुए हैं, जिनमें सबसे प्रमुख नाम टेलिकॉम कंपनी रिलायंस जियो का है जो 11वें स्थान पर है।
● इसके अलावा डीमार्ट, व्हर्लपूल, बजाज आलियांज, केनरा बैंक, सन डायरेक्ट और डिश टीवी भी इसमें शामिल हुए हैं।
हिंदी दिवस के उपलक्ष्य पर राष्ट्रपति में दिए पुरस्कार
राजभाषा विभाग, गृह मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार द्वारा दिनांक 14 सितंबर, 2017 को विज्ञान भवन, नई दिल्ली में हिंदी दिवस समारोह का आयोजन किया गया ।
● राष्ट्रपति श्री रामनाथ कोविन्द समारोह के मुख्य अतिथि थे तथा उनके कर-कमलों से देश भर में स्थित विभिन्न मंत्रालयों / विभागों/ कार्यालयों के प्रमुखों को राजभाषा कार्यान्वयन में उत्कृष्ट कार्य हेतु पुरस्कृत किया गया।
● पुरस्कार विजेताओं को शील्ड तथा प्रमाण पत्र प्रदान किये गए।
● हिंदी दिवस पर आयोजित होने वाले इस कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता गृह मंत्री श्री राजनाथ सिंह ने की और गृह राज्य मंत्री श्री हंसराज गंगाराम अहीर तथा श्री किरेन रीजीजू कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित थे ।
● इस अवसर पर भारत सरकार के विभिन्न मंत्रालयों/विभागों/उपक्रमों आदि के मंत्री, संसद सदस्यगण तथा वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों को आमंत्रित किया गया।
● इस मौके पर राजभाषा विभाग द्वारा सी डैक के सहयोग से तैयार किये गये लर्निंग इंडियन लैंग्वेज विद आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (लीला) के मोबाइल एप का लोकार्पण भी किया गया ।
● इस ऐप से देश भर में विभिन्न भाषाओं के माध्यम से जन सामान्य को हिंदी सीखने में सुविधा और सरलता होगी तथा हिंदी भाषा को समझना, सीखना तथा कार्य करना संभव हो सकेगा ।
आईओसी ने किया 2024 और 2028 ओलिंपिक के मेजबान शहरों का ऐलान
अंतरराष्ट्रीय ओलिंपिक समिति (आईओसी) ने 2024 और 2028 ओलिंपिक खेलों के आयोजन के लिए पैरिस और लॉस एंजिल्स के नामों पर मुहर लगा दी है।
● मतों के जरिए जीत में दोनों शहरों को ओलिंपिक खेलों के आयोजनों का दावेदारी मिली है।
● आईओसी अध्यक्ष थोमस बाक ने अपने एक बयान में कहा, 'पैरिस को 2024 और लॉस एंजिल्स को 2028 ओलिंपिक खेलों के आयोजन की जिम्मेदारी सौंपी गई है।
● इस ऐतिहासिक फैसला में पैरिस और लॉस एंजिल्स की जीत हुई है।'
● बाक ने कहा, 'बेहतर चीजों की चाह की कल्पना करना काफी मुश्किल है।
● अगले 11 वर्षों में ओलिंपिक खेलों के लिए ऐथलीटों की स्थिरता को सुनिश्चित करना काफी असाधारण बात है।'
● इस घोषणा के बाद दोनों शहरों के प्रतिनिधियों ने ओलिंपिक खेलों के लिए आईओसी और अध्यक्ष बाक के साथ आधिकारिक अनुबंधों पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
● इस फैसले से खुश पैरिस और लॉस एंजिल्स ने ओलिंपिक खेलों के आयोजन के लिए अपनी उत्सुकता को जाहिर किया।
