Special Secretary AYUSH gives away Prizes to Winners of Online Article Writing Contests
Special Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH Shri Vd. Rajesh Kotecha, gave away the prizes to the winners of Online Article Writing Contests on Prevention and Management of Diabetes through Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathy.
● The contest was held on digital platform like Facebook and Twitter page of the Ministry of AYUSH.
● On this occasion, Shri Kotecha congratulated the winners and said that this type of activities help the Ministry to reach out to people who dedicate their life in the field of alternative medicine.
● He also said that Ministry welcomes any idea and suggestion in the field of AYUSH system of medicine and assures all help from the Ministry.
● To make aware people about prevention and management of diabetes, the Ministry of AYUSH had conducted various Online Article Writing Contests on Prevention and Management of diabetes through Ayurveda, Homeopathy & Unani Systems.
● First prize is Rs. 20,000/-, second prize is Rs, 15000/-, third prize is Rs. 10000/- and two consolation prizes are Rs. 5000/- each.
● These contests were conducted on the Ministry’s Facebook & Twitter Social Media platforms.
Building a new India: Pledge to Double Farmers Income by 2022
In order to improve the economic condition of the farmers, Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has set up an ambitious target in front of the nation.
● The goal is to double the income of the farmers by 2022.
● It has been for the first time, a Prime Minister has put such a target in front of the compatriots for the welfare of the farmers.
● Under the able guidance of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry has to achieve this target by 2022.
● The Ministry is committed to making his dreams come true. Farmers and officers are implementing schemes to increase the income of the farmers.
● Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) organised pledge taking ceremonies in 562 districts of the country between August 19 to September 11, 2017, as a clarion call to farmers to double their income by 2022 and a total of 47,08,47 farmers and agricultural workers participated in it.
Shri Kiren Rijiju to inaugurate 2-day National Conference on “Uniformed Women in Prison Administration”
The Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju will inaugurate the 2-day National Conference on “Uniformed Women in Prison Administration” here tomorrow.
● The Conference is being organised for women officers of the rank of Jailors to Dy. Superintendents of Prisons.
● This Conference will have Panel Discussions, Deliberations and Syndicate Discussions on 4 themes:
● Difficulties in balancing family and work environment of Women Prison Officers.
● Training needs of Women Prison Officers and Correctional Staff
● Is there need for change of uniform for Woman Prison Officers
● All the syndicates will make presentations based on their interactive session with different State Prison Officers, Academicians, Representatives from NGOs and students.
● It will be followed by an open house interaction, in which participants will be encouraged to interact to share their problems, ideas and experiences in connection with their day-to- day work in prisons as well as dealing with prison inmates.
2-day Regional Conference on Good Governance and Replication of Best Practices to begin in Goa tomorrow
The Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Government of India is organising a 2-day Regional Conference on Good Governance and Replication of Best Practices on September 14-15, 2017 in collaboration with Government of Goa.
● The Secretary (DARPG), Shri C. Viswanath will inaugurate the conference tomorrow in Goa.
● The Chief Minister, Goa Shri Manohar Parrikar and Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh will address the participants in the Valedictory Session on September 15, 2017.
● The theme for this year’s Conference is Good Governance and Replication of Best Practices.
● The Conference is an effort to create a common platform to share experiences in the formulation and implementation of citizen centric governance, improved public service delivery through e-Governance, transparent, accountable and citizen-friendly effective administration.
● Delegates from 25 States/UTs (of Southern, Central, Eastern, North Eastern Regions and 5 other States/UTs) will be participating in the conference.
Ministry of Railways permits m-Aadhar as one of the prescribed proofs of Identity for Rail Travel Purpose
Ministry of Railways has decided to permit m- Aadhar (Aadhar card on mobile app namely m- Aadhar launched by UIDAI) as one of the prescribed proofs of Identity for Rail Travel purpose in any reserved class.
● m- Aadhar is a mobile app launched by UIDAI on which a person can download his/her Aadhar Card.
● It can be done only on the mobile number to which Aadhar has been linked.
● For showing Aadhar, the person has to open the app and enter his/ her password to show the Aadhar Card.
● m- Aadhar when shown by the passenger on his/her mobile after entering the password should be accepted as proof of identity for undertaking journey in any reserved class over Indian Railways.
JNPCT wins “Container Terminal of the Year” Award, 2017
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPCT) was awarded “Container Terminal of the Year” Award for the above 0.6 million TEUs category at The Gateway Awards 2017 held at Mumbai.
● The Jawaharlal Nehru Port owned JNPCT won the award for its proactive strategies to ease congestion, smooth delivery of containers and revamping of infrastructure to support trade amidst adverse conditions.
● Accepting the award, Shri Neeraj Bansal, Deputy Chairman, JNPT said “JNPCT has been able to create growth momentum in the last few years as a result of various initiatives to increase the overall efficiency of the terminal and the Port.
● These initiatives have now started showing positive results and we will continue to further increase our efficiency levels.”
● The Gateway Award was instituted to recognise and promote best practices, innovation and motivation in the Indian Maritime industry.
Secretary, Ministry of Coal reviews the coal supply position to the Thermal Power Plants
Secretary, Ministry of Coal Shri Susheel Kumar reviewed the coal supply position to the Thermal Power Plants in the country.
● The meeting was attended by CMD CIL and all the CMDs of the subsidiary companies of CIL.
● There has been growth of 17% in coal based thermal power generation, this is primarily on account of reduction in hydro power generation by 12%, in nuclear power generation by 36% and others by 7% in August, 2017 over August, 2016.
● CMD CIL expressed that the TPPs had earlier regulated and reduced their coal intake and presently when the production in the coal companies and off take from them is sporadically restrained on account of excessive rainfall, there has been a sudden increase in coal based power generation which has resulted in dwindling coal stock at the TPPs.
● CMD CIL also stated that there has been a growth of 17.8% in coal off take in August, 2017 as compared to August, 2016 and the overall cumulative growth in coal off take is 7.2% in the current year corresponding to the same period last year.
SPMCIL to Mint Commemorative Coins on the Birth centenaries of Dr. M S Subbulakshmi and Dr. M G Ramachandran
Government of India has notified issuance of Commemorative Coins of Rs. 100/- and Rs. 10/- denomination on the eve of Birth Centenary of Dr. M S Subbulakshmi.
● Commemorative Coins of denominations Rs. 100/- and Rs. 5/- have also been announced on the occasion of Birth Centenary of Dr. M G Ramachandran.
● Sri Shanmukhananda Fine Arts & Sangeetha Sabha had requested Government of India to release Commemorative Coins of Rs.100/- and Rs. 10/- denomination in honour of Dr. M S Subbulakshmi.
● Similarly the proposal for issuance of commemorative coins for Dr. M G Ramachandran was received from Government of Tamil Nadu.
● The aforesaid Commemorative Coins will be minted by Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL).
● Dr. Madurai Shanmukhavadivu Subbulakshmi also known as Dr. M.S. Subbulakshmi, was a Carnatic vocalist born on 16/09/1916 in Madurai under Madaras Presidency.
● She was the first musician ever to be awarded the Bharat Ratna.
● She is the first Indian musician to receive the Ramon Magsaysay award, often considered as Asia’s Nobel. Prize in 1974.
आयुष मंत्रालय के विशेष सचिव ने ऑन लाईन लेख प्रतियोगिता के विजेताओं को पुरस्कार दिए
आयुष मंत्रालय के विशेष सचिव श्री वैद्य राजेश कोटेचा ने आर्युवेद, यूनानी तथा होम्योपैथी के माध्यम से मधुमेह बीमारी की रोकथाम और प्रबंधन पर ऑन लाईन लेख प्रतियोगिता के विजेताओं को पुरस्कार दिए।
● यह प्रतियोगिता आयुष मंत्रालय के फेसबुक तथा ट्विटर पेज जैसे डिजिटल मंच पर आयोजित की गई थी।
● श्री कोटेचा ने विजेताओं को बधाई देते हुए कहा कि इस तरह की गतिविधियों से मंत्रालय को उन लोगों तक पहुंचने में मदद मिलती है जिन्होंने वैकल्पिक चिकित्सा के क्षेत्र में अपने जीवन को समर्पित कर दिया है।
● उन्होंने कहा कि आयुष मंत्रालय, आयुष चिकित्सा पद्धति में किसी भी विचार और सुझाव का स्वागत करता है।
● उन्होंने मंत्रालय की ओर से सभी सहायता का आश्वासन दिया।
● मधुमेह की रोकथाम और प्रबंधन के बारे में लोगों को जागरूक बनाने के लिए आयुष मंत्रालय ने आर्युवेद, होम्योपैथी तथा यूनानी चिकित्सा प्रणाली के माध्यम से बीमारी की रोकथाम और प्रबंधन पर विभिन्न लेख प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन किया था।
● इस प्रतियोगिता में प्रथम पुरस्कार 20,000 रुपये, द्वितीय पुरस्कार 15,000 रुपये, तृतीय पुरस्कार 10,000 रुपये और पांच-पांच हजार रुपये के दो संत्वना पुरस्कार हैं।
● लेख के विषय था।
● आधुनिक जीवन शैली के संदर्भ में आर्युवेद के माध्यम से मधुमेह की रोकथाम और प्रबंधन, यूनानी चिकित्सा पद्धति से मधुमेह का इलाज और नियंत्रण तथा होम्योपैथी से मधुमेह देखभाल।
● प्रत्येक श्रेणी में 250 प्रविष्ठियां प्राप्त हुई।
नये भारत का निर्माण वर्ष 2022 तक किसानों की आय दोगुनी करने का संकल्प
किसानों की आर्थिक स्थिति सुधारने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने देश के सामने एक लक्ष्य रखा है।
● यह लक्ष्य है वर्ष 2022 तक किसानों की आमदनी दोगुनी करने का।
● देश में पहली बार किसी प्रधानमंत्री ने किसानों की समग्र भलाई के लिए इस तरह का कोई लक्ष्य देशवासियों के सामने रखा है।
● प्रधानमंत्री के नेतृत्व में कृषि मंत्रालय को यह काम 2022 तक अंजाम देना है।
● कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण मंत्रालय पूरी प्रतिबद्धता के साथ प्रधानमंत्री के इस सपने को साकार करने में लगा हुआ है।
● देश के किसान एवं कृषि अधिकारी भी किसानों की आय बढ़ाने की योजनाओं के क्रियान्वन में जुटे हुए है।
● देश के 562 जिलों में 19 अगस्त से 11 सितम्बर 2017 तक कृषि विज्ञान केन्द्रों के संयोजकत्व में किसानों की आय दुगनी करने के लिए संकल्प सम्मेलनों का आयोजन किया गया, जिनमें कुल 47,08,47 किसानों एवं कृषि कर्मियों ने भाग लिया।
● देश में 562 जिलों में यह कार्यक्रम के.वी.के. के संयोजकत्व में किया गया है।
श्री किरेन रिजिजू "जेल प्रशासन में वर्दीधारी महिलाएं" विषय पर दो दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन करेंगे
गृह राज्य मंत्री श्री किरेन रिजिजू कल "जेल प्रशासन में वर्दीधारी महिलाएं" विषय पर दो दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन करेंगे।
● यह सम्मेलन जेलर और जेल उपाधीक्षक पदों पर तैनात महिला अधिकारियों के लिए आयोजित किया जा रहा है।
● इस सम्मेलन में इन चार विषयों पर पैनल चर्चा, विचार-विमर्श और सिंडिकेट विचार-विमर्श किया जाएगा -
● महिला जेल अधिकारियों के सामने परिवार और काम के माहौल में संतुलन बनाने में आ रही कठिनाइयां।
● महिला जेल अधिकारियों और सुधारक कर्मचारियों के प्रशिक्षण की जरूरत
● क्या महिला जेल अधिकारियों की वर्दी में बदलाव करने की आवश्यकता है?
● सभी सिंडिकेट राज्य जेल अधिकारियों, शिक्षाविदों, गैर-सरकारी संगठनों के प्रतिनिधियों और छात्रों के साथ अपने विचार विमर्श सत्र के आधार पर प्रस्तुतीकरण देंगे।
● इसके बाद एक खुली वार्ता का आयोजन किया जाएगा जिसमें सभी प्रतिभागियों को जेलों में अपने दिन-प्रतिदिन के काम के साथ-साथ जेल में कैदियों से निपटने के संबंध में अपनी समस्याएं, विचारों और अनुभवों को साझा करने के लिए बातचीत करने हेतु प्रोत्साहित किया जाएगा।
सुशासन और श्रेष्ठ व्यवहारों को दोहराने के विषय पर कल से गोवा में दो दिवसीय क्षेत्रीय सम्मेलन
कार्मिक, लोक शिकायत एवं पेंशन मंत्रालय के प्राशसनिक सुधार और लोक शिकायत विभाग (डीएआरपीजी) गोवा सरकार के सहयोग से 14-15 सितंबर, 2017 को सुशासन और श्रेष्ठ व्यवहारों को दोहराने के विषय पर दो दिवसीय क्षेत्रीय सम्मेलन का आयोजन कर रहा है।
● डीएआरपीजी के सचिव श्री सी. विश्वनाथ कल गोवा में इस सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन करेगे।
● गोवा के मुख्यमंत्री श्री मनोहर पर्रिकर तथा केन्द्रीय पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र विकास राज्यमंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार), प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय में राज्यमंत्री, कार्मिक, लोक शिकायत और पेंशन, परमाणु ऊर्जा तथा अंतरिक्ष राज्यमंत्री डॉ. जितेन्द्र सिंह 15 सितंबर, 2017 को समापन सत्र को संबोधित करेंगे।
● इस वर्ष के सम्मेलन का थीम है सुशासन और श्रेष्ठ व्यवहारों को दोहराना।
● यह सम्मेलन नागरिक केन्द्रित शासन लागू करना, ई-गर्वनेंस के माध्यम से लोक सेवाओं को सुधारना, पारदर्शी उत्तरदायी तथा नागरिक सहज प्रभावी प्रशासन के बारे में अनुभव साझा करने का एक समान मंच बनाने का प्रयास है।
● इस सम्मेलन में 25 राज्यों/केन्द्रशासित प्रदेशों (दक्षिणी, मध्य, पूर्वी, पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र तथा पांच अन्य राज्य/केन्द्रशासित प्रदेश) के प्रतिनिधि भाग लेंगे।
● कार्यक्रम के अनुसार सम्मेलन के दौरान 6 सत्र आयोजित किए जाएंगे। कल पहले सत्र में गोवा राज्य में प्राथमिकता वाले उदाहरणीय कार्यों पर संक्षिप्त प्रस्तुतीकरण दिया जाएगा।
● दूसरे सत्र में प्रधानमंत्री पुरस्कार 2018 से चुने गए प्राथमिकता वाले कार्यक्रमों पर संक्षिप्त प्रस्तुतीकरण होगा।
रेल मंत्रालय ने रेल यात्रा के लिए निर्धारित पहचान प्रमाणों में एम-आधार को स्वीकृति दी
रेल मंत्रालय ने रेल यात्रा के लिए किसी भी सुरक्षित श्रेणी में निर्धारित पहचान प्रमाणों में एक पहचान के रूप में एम-आधार (मोबाइल ऐप एम-आधार पर आधार को यूआईडीएआई द्वारा लांच किया गया है) को स्वीकृति देने का निर्णय लिया है।
● एम-आधार यूआईडीएआई द्वारा लांच किया गया मोबाइल ऐप है।
● इसपर कोई भी व्यक्ति अपना आधार कार्ड डाउनलोड कर सकता है।
● यह उसी मोबाइल नंबर से होगा जो आधार से जुड़ा है।
● आधार देखने के लिए व्यक्ति को अपना ऐप खोलना होगा और अपना पासवर्ड डालना होगा।
● पासवर्ड डालने के बाद स्क्रिन पर आए एम-आधार को भारतीय रेल की किसी भी आरक्षित श्रेणी में पहचान प्रमाण के रूप में स्वीकार किया जाएगा।
जवाहर लाल नेहरू पोर्ट कंटेनर टर्मिनल ने 2017 का "कंटेनर टर्मिनल ऑफ द ईयर" पुरस्कार जीता
जवाहरलाल नेहरू पोर्ट कंटेनर टर्मिनल (जेएनपीसीटी) को मुंबई में आयोजित गेटवे पुरस्कार 2017 में 0.6 मिलियन से अधिक टीईयू श्रेणी के लिए "कंटेनर टर्मिनल ऑफ द ईयर" के पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया।
● जवाहरलाल नेहरू पोर्ट के स्वामित्व वाले जेएनपीसीटी ने भीड़-भाड़ कम करने, कंटेनरों की सुचारू सुपुर्दगी और प्रतिकूल परिस्थितियों के बीच व्यापार को सहायता प्रदान करने हेतु बुनियादी ढांचे में सुधार के लिए अपनी सक्रिय रणनीतियों के लिए यह पुरस्कार जीता है।
● इस पुरस्कार को प्राप्त करते हुए, जेएनपीसीटी के उपाध्यक्ष श्री नीरज बंसल ने कहा कि "जेएनपीसीटी पिछले कुछ सालों में विकासगति का सृजन करने में सफल हुआ है।
● ऐसा टर्मिनल और बंदरगाह की समग्र दक्षता बढ़ाने के लिए की गई विभिन्न पहलों के कारण हुआ है।
● इन पहलों ने अब सकारात्मक परिणाम दिखाने शुरू कर दिये हैं।
● हम अपने दक्षता स्तरों को और आगे बढ़ाना जारी रखेंगे।

कोयला सचिव ने ताप विद्युत संयंत्रों को कोयला सप्लाई की स्थिति की समीक्षा की
कोयला सचिव श्री सुशील कुमार ने आज देश के ताप विद्युत संयंत्रों को कोयला सप्लाई की स्थिति की समीक्षा की।
● इस बैठक में कोल इंडिया लिमिटेड (सीआईएल) के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक और कोल इंडिया लिमिटेड की सहायक कंपनियों के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशकों ने भाग लिया।
● कोलया आधारित ताप विद्युत उत्पादन में 17 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि दर्ज की गई है।
● ऐसा अगस्त, 2016 की तुलना में अगस्त, 2017 में जल विद्युत उत्पादन में 12 प्रतिशत, परमाणु बिजली उत्पादन में 36 प्रतिशत और अन्य उत्पादनों में 7 प्रतिशत की कमी आने के कारण हुआ है।
● कोल इंडिया लिमिटेड के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक ने कहा कि ताप विद्युत संयंत्रों में पहले नियमन व्यवस्था थी और संयंत्रों ने कोयला लेने में कमी की।
● लेकिन अब कोयला कंपनियों के उत्पादन में छिटपुट रूप से कमी आने तथा भारी वर्षा के कारण उठाव में कमी होने से कोयला आधारित विद्युत उत्पादन में आकस्मिक रूप से वृद्धि हुई है।
● इसके परिणामस्वरूप ताप विद्युत संयंत्रों में कोयले की भंडार में कमी आई है।
● उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि अगस्त 2016 की तुलना में अगस्त 2017 में कोयला उठाव में 17.8 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि हुई है और पिछले वर्ष की इसी अवधि की तुलना में चालू वर्ष में कोयला उठाव में 7.2 प्रतिशत की सकल वृद्धि हुई है।
डॉ. एम एस सुब्बुलक्ष्मी और डॉ एम जी रामचंद्रन की जन्म शताब्दी के अवसर पर एसपीएमसीआईएल द्वारा स्मारक सिक्के जारी
भारत सरकार ने डॉ. एम एस सुब्बुलक्ष्मी की जन्म शताब्दी के अवसर पर 100 रूपये और 10 रुपये मूल्य वर्ग के स्मारक सिक्के जारी करने की अधिसूचना जारी की है।
● डॉ एम जी रामचंद्रन की जन्म शताब्दी के अवसर पर 100/- और 5/- रु. मूल्य वर्ग के स्मारक सिक्के जारी करने की भी घोषणा की गई है।
● श्री षणमुखानंद फाइन आर्ट्स और संगीत सभा ने भारत सरकार से डॉ. एम. एस. सुब्बुलक्ष्मी के सम्मान में 100/- रूपए और 10/- रुपये मूल्य वर्ग के स्मारक सिक्के जारी करने का अनुरोध किया था।
● इसी प्रकार तमिलनाडु सरकार से डॉ. एम जी रामचंद्रन के लिए स्मारक सिक्के जारी करने का प्रस्ताव प्राप्त हुआ था।
● इन स्मारक सिक्कों की ढ़लाई सिक्योरिटी प्रिंटिंग और मिंटिंग कॉरपोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया लिमिटेड (एसपीएमसीआईएल) द्वारा की जाएगी।
● डॉ. मदुरई षणमुखावादिवु सुब्बुलक्ष्मी को डॉ. एम.एस. के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। वे कर्नाटक गायिका थी।
● उनका जन्म मद्रास प्रेसीडेंसी के तहत मदुरई में 16/09/1916 को हुआ था।
● वे भारत रत्न से सम्मानित होने वाली वे पहली संगीतकार थी।
● वे रमन मैगसेसे पुरस्कार प्राप्त करने वाली भी पहली भारतीय संगीतकार हैं।
● इस पुरस्कार को अक्सर एशिया का नोबल पुरस्कार माना जाता है।
