ICAI issued notice to Multinational Auditing Companies

●   The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has issued notices to many units of multinational auditing companies of Indian units.

● The institute has sought information from companies such as Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Grant Thornton and BDO about their corporate structures, investments and revenues.

The President paid tribute to Mr. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed on his birth anniversary

●   President Shri Ram Nath Kovind today paid tribute to Mr. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed on his birth anniversary (May 13, 2018) in the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

●   The President and President of Rashtrapati Bhavan offered floral tributes to the statue of Mr. Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed.

Madhya Pradesh will be declared as ODF by October this year: CM

●   Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan has announced that the state will be declared as open defecation state (ODF) in open till the Gandhi Jayanti this year.

●   This means that the state will become ODF one year before the national deadline of Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary, 2 October, 2019.

Gadkari to inaugurate two national highways in Punjab tomorrow

●   Union Road Transport, Highways, Shipping, Water Resources and Ganga Conservation Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the 4 lane National Highway -15 Amritsar in Bathinda, Bathinda and National Highway 64 from Zirakpur from Amritsar, and the National Highway-144B Project. Two-lane Munak-Jhalkal-Budalana will lay the foundation of the block.

●   The National Highway-175 of 175 kilometers is completed in 24 months with a cost of Rs 2893 crore.

Government preparing for a firm definition for effective action on mask companies

●   To regulate the companies running only paper, the government wants to set a definition of 'mask companies' so that such companies can be found guilty in the courts.

●   In the recent months many 'mask companies' involved in money laundering and other financial irregularities have challenged the action against themselves.

RBI's 'prompt corrective action' against Dena Bank

●   Reserve Bank of India has initiated "prompt corrective action" against the public sector Dena Bank in view of the large debt trapped position.

Vijaya Bank announces Reliance Naval loan as NPA

●   Public sector Vijaya Bank has declared the loan account of Reliance Naval and Engineering, led by Anil Ambani Group, for the March quarter.

●   Earlier this company was named Pipavav Defense and Offshore Engineering.

●   Anil Ambani Group acquired it in 2016 and named it Reliance Defense and Engineering.

Air India revenues up by 20 per cent in March-April

●   Air India's Revenue was 20 per cent in March-April 2018, and a Root Review has begun to increase the flight hours of each aircraft for the new trip.
