Indian and Indonesian Navies conducted Passage Exercise (PASSEX) in the southern Arabian Sea
• The Indian and Indonesian Navies conducted Passage Exercise (PASSEX) in the southern Arabian Sea with a focus on further improving their interoperability. The exercise was aimed at improving interoperability and understanding between both the friendly navies.
• From the Indian Navy, INS Sharda, an Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) with a Chetak helicopter participated in the exercise. From the Indonesian Navy, KRI Sultan Hasanudin, a 90m Corvette took part in the exercise.
• PASSEXes are regularly conducted by IN with units of Friendly Foreign Countries. The last PASSEX between IN and the Indonesian Navy was conducted on 13 Mar 21 between INS Kalpeni, IN Dornier and KRI Sultan Iskandar Muda.
Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli loses vote of confidence in House of Representatives
• Nepal Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli has lost the vote of confidence in the House of Representatives. K P Sharma Oli got 93 votes in his favour while 124 voted against him. In the 275-member House of Representatives, he required at least 136 Votes to win the trust vote in the lower of the House of Representatives.
• After the NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) withdrew its support from the government, PM Oli faced a vote of confidence. In January, K P Sharma Oli was expelled from the primary membership of the Nepal Communist Party for his decision to dissolve the Parliament.
World’s First Unmanned Vessel named “Mayflower 400”
• World’s First Unmanned Vessel named “Mayflower 400” is set to Navigate Across the Atlantic. It has been built by the marine research organization ProMare in collaboration with IBM. It will begin its transatlantic voyage on May 15, 2021, to track aquatic mammals, analyze plastic in the water, and study marine pollution.
• Mayflower 400 is a completely autonomous ship. It is a 15-m-long trimaran that weighs 9 tons. It is powered by Artificial Intelligence and the Sun’s energy via solar panels.
• ProMare invested $1 million along with global contributions in the form of technology from India, the United States, and Switzerland to build the ship.
Hostilities between Israel and Hamas escalated after the air strikes
• The Israeli military has bombarded rockets in different areas in Gaza. It is the most intense airstrikes in Gaza since 2014. Hamas had red hundreds of rockets towards Israel on Monday. After that, Israel has carried out hundreds of airstrikes in Gaza.
• The Gaza-based Palestinian group, Hamas, had red rockets towards Israel in protest of the clash between Israeli police and Palestinian protesters in the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Al-Aqsa Mosque is located in Jerusalem. It is the third holiest place for Muslims.

Delhi Police launched vehicle helpline ‘COVI Van’ for senior citizens
• Delhi Police has launched a helpline number for senior citizens who are struggling with their essential needs amid C-19-19. South District Police of the national capital has launched a COVI Van Helpline (012- 26241077) for senior citizens in the neighbourhood amid the coronavirus situation here.
• The information of commencement of COVI Van has been disseminated in the Greater Kailash -1 area through beat officers and Residents Welfare Association (RWA).
• All the precautions including – sanitisation, gloves, masks and social distancing – will be taken while and after every visit.
Puducherry becomes ‘Har Ghar Jal’ UT
• Puducherry has achieved the target of 100% piped water connection in rural areas under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). Earlier, Goa, Telangana and Andaman & Nicobar Islands have provided tap water supply to every rural home under Jal Jeevan Mission. So, Puducherry is the fourth State/UT to provide assured tap water supply to every rural home under Jal Jeevan Mission.
• Jal Jeevan Mission is being implemented in partnership with States/ UTs to provide safe tap water to every rural home by 2024. The State of Punjab and the UTs of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu have covered over 75% of rural homes with assured tap water supply.
IREDA conferred with the Green Urja Award
• Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd (IREDA) has been conferred with the “Green Urja Award” for being the Leading Public Institution in the Financing Institution for Renewable Energy this year by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC). IREDA gets the award for the pivotal and developmental role it plays in Green Energy Financing.
• Despite the pandemic time, IREDA has ended the year 2020-21 ended on a strong note and disbursed the second-highest (from the date of inception) amount of loan amounting to Rs. 8827 crore, which indicates that IREDA has the ability to translate this problem into an opportunity.

Ram Karan Ambassador to African
• Ram Karan Verma has been concurrently accredited as the next Ambassador of India to the Central African Republic.
• Earlier, Verma, a 1987 Indian Foreign Services (IFS) was the Ambassador of India to the Democratic Republic of Congo with residence in Kinshasa.
• He also served as the Director (Central Europe) at headquarters in the Ministry of External Affairs previously.
PESB appointed Arun Kumar Singh as next CMD of BPCL
• The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), the government’s head-hunter, has picked Arun Kumar Singh as the chairman and managing director of state-run oil refining and marketing firm Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL).
• Arun Kumar Singh is currently director, marketing at BPCL and holding additional charge of Director, Refineries. His selection will have to be ratified by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet led by prime minister Narendra Modi.

Pune ranked first on health infra Parameters
• Pune is ranked first while Delhi-NCR is at the lowest position among eight major cities in health infrastructure-related parameters, including number of hospitals beds, air-water quality and sanitation, according to a report by Housing.com.
• The real estate portal, which is owned by US-based News Corp and its Australian group firm REA, on Wednesday released its report titled ‘State of Healthcare in India’.
• The report ranks health infrastructure in India’s most urbanised eight cities — Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai Metropolitan Region(MMR) and Pune — on the basis of Housing.com’s City Health Card.

Jana Small Finance Bank has announced the launch of the “I choose my number”
• Jana Small Finance Bank has announced the launch of the “I choose my number” feature for all its customers across India. This new feature gives the bank’s existing and new customers the option to select their favourite numbers as their savings or current account number.
• The bank will allow its customers to choose their favourite numbers as the last 10 digits of their bank account, savings or current.
• The allocation of the account number chosen by the customer will be subject to the availability of the requested number.

भारतीय और इंडोनेशियाई इंडियंस ने दक्षिणी अरब सागर में पैसेज एक्सरसाइज (PASSEX) का आयोजन किया
• भारतीय और इंडोनेशियाई नौसेनाओं ने अपनी पारस्परिक सहयोग में और सुधार लाने पर फोकस के साथ दक्षिणी अरब सागर में पैसेज एक्सरसाइज (PASSEX) का आयोजन किया। अभ्यास का उद्देश्य दोनों अनुकूल नौसेनाओं के बीच पारस्परिक सहयोग और समझ में सुधार करना था।
• भारतीय नौसेना की ओर से इस युद्धाभ्यास में आईएनएस शारदा, अपतटीय गश्ती पोत (OPV) और उसपर मौजूदा चेतक हेलीकॉप्टर ने हिस्सा लिया। इस युद्धाभ्यास में इंडोनिशियाई नौसेना का प्रतिनिधित्व केआरआई सुल्तान हसानुदीन और 90एम कॉर्वेट्टे पोत ने किया।
• भारतीय नौसेना नियमित रूप से मित्र देशों के साथ PASSEX युद्धाभ्यास करती है। आखिरी बार भारतीय नौसेना और इंडोनेशियाई नौसेना के बीच PASSEX 13 मार्च 21 को संपन्न हुआ था और उसमें आईएनएस कालपेनी, आईएन डोनियर और केआरआई सुल्तान इश्कंदर मुदा ने हिस्सा लिया था।
नेपाल के प्रधान मंत्री के पी शर्मा ओली ने प्रतिनिधि सभा में विश्वास मत गवाया
• नेपाल के प्रधानमंत्री के पी शर्मा ओली ने प्रतिनिधि सभा में विश्वास मत खो दिया है। के पी शर्मा ओली को उनके पक्ष में 93 मत मिले जबकि 124 ने उनके खिलाफ मतदान किया। 275 सदस्यीय प्रतिनिधि सभा में, उन्हें प्रतिनिधि सभा के निचले भाग में विश्वास मत जीतने के लिए कम से कम 136 वोटों की आवश्यकता थी।
• NCP (राष्ट्रवादी कांग्रेस पार्टी) के सरकार से अपना समर्थन वापस लेने के बाद, पीएम ओली को विश्वास मत का सामना करना पड़ा। जनवरी में, के पी शर्मा ओली को संसद भंग करने के अपने फैसले के लिए नेपाल कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी की प्राथमिक सदस्यता से निष्कासित कर दिया गया था।
विश्व का पहला मानव रहित पोत जिसका नाम "मेफ्लावर 400"
• विश्व का पहला मानव रहित पोत जिसका नाम "Mayflower 400" है, को अटलांटिक के पार नेविगेट करने के लिए निर्धारित किया गया है। इसे IBM के सहयोग से समुद्री अनुसंधान संगठन ProMare द्वारा बनाया गया है। यह जलीय स्तनधारियों पर नज़र रखने, पानी में प्लास्टिक का विश्लेषण करने और समुद्री प्रदूषण का अध्ययन करने के लिए 15 मई, 2021 को अपनी ट्रान्स-अटलांटिक यात्रा शुरू करेगा।
• Mayflower 400 पूरी तरह से स्वायत्त जहाज है। यह एक 15 मीटर लंबा ट्रिमरन है, जिसका वजन 9 टन है। यह आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस और सोलर पैनल के माध्यम से सूर्य की ऊर्जा संचालित होता है।
• ProMare ने जहाज के निर्माण के लिए भारत, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका और स्विट्जरलैंड से प्रौद्योगिकी के रूप में वैश्विक योगदान के साथ $1 मिलियन का निवेश किया।
हवाई हमलों के बाद इज़राइल और हमास के बीच शत्रुता बड़ी
• इजरायल की सेना ने गाजा में विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में रॉकेटों से बमबारी की है। यह 2014 के बाद से गाजा में सबसे तीव्र हवाई हमले हैं। हमास ने सोमवार को इजरायल की ओर सैकड़ों रॉकेट दागे थे। उसके बाद, इसराइल ने गाजा में सैकड़ों हवाई हमले किए।

दिल्ली पुलिस ने वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए वाहन हेल्पलाइन COVI वैन ’शुरू की
• दिल्ली पुलिस (Delhi Police) ने C-19 के बीच अपनी आवश्यक जरूरतों से जूझ रहे, वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए एक हेल्पलाइन नंबर शुरू किया है। राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के दक्षिण जिला पुलिस ने कोरोनोवायरस स्थिति के बीच पड़ोस में वरिष्ठ नागरिकों के लिए एक COVI वैन हेल्पलाइन (012- 26241077) शुरू की है।
• COVI वैन के शुरू होने की सूचना ग्रेटर कैलाश -1 क्षेत्र में बीट अधिकारियों और रेजिडेंट्स वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन (RWA) के माध्यम से प्रसारित की गई है।
• हर यात्रा के दौरान और बाद में सभी सावधानियां - सैनिटाइजेशन, ग्लव्स, मास्क और सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग - का पालन किया जाएगा।
पुदुचेरी “हर घर जल” केन्द्र शासित प्रदेश बना
• पुदुचेरी ने जल जीवन मिशन के तहत ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में 100% पाइप जल कनेक्शन का लक्ष्य हासिल किया है। इससे पहले, गोवा, तेलंगाना तथा अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह ने जल जीवन मिशन के तहत प्रत्येक ग्रामीण घर में नल के पानी की आपूर्ति की है। इसलिए, जल जीवन मिशन के तहत हर ग्रामीण घर तक पानी की आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के लिए पुडुचेरी चौथा राज्य / केंद्र शासित प्रदेश है।
• जल जीवन मिशन को 2024 तक हर ग्रामीण घर तक सुरक्षित नल का पानी पहुंचाने के लिए राज्यों / केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों के साथ साझेदारी में कार्यान्वित किया जा रहा है। पंजाब राज्य तथा दादरा और नगर हवेली एवं दमन और दीव केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों ने नल के पानी की आपूर्ति के साथ 75% से अधिक ग्रामीण घरों को कवर किया गया है।
IREDA को ग्रीन उर्जा पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया
• इंडियन रिन्यूएबल एनर्जी डेवलपमेंट एजेंसी लिमिटेड (IREDA) को भारतीय चैंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स (ICC) द्वारा इस वर्ष रिन्यूएबल एनर्जी के लिए फाइनेंसिंग इंस्टीट्यूशन में अग्रणी सार्वजनिक संस्थान होने के लिए "ग्रीन ऊर्जा अवार्ड (Green Urja Award)" से सम्मानित किया गया है। IREDA को ग्रीन एनर्जी फाइनेंसिंग में निभाई जाने वाली महत्वपूर्ण और विकास संबंधी भूमिका के लिए पुरस्कार मिला।
• महामारी के समय के बावजूद, IREDA ने वर्ष 2020-21 को एक मजबूत नोट पर समाप्त कर दिया और ऋण की राशि की दूसरी-उच्चतम (स्थापना की तारीख से) राशि 8827 करोड़ रुपये वितरित किए, जो दर्शाता है कि IREDA इस समस्या को एक अवसर में तब्दील करने की क्षमता रखता है।

राम करन अफ्रीकी गणराज्य में भारत के अगले राजदूत
• राम करन वर्मा को मध्य अफ्रीकी गणराज्य में भारत के अगले राजदूत के रूप में समवर्ती रूप से मान्यता दी गई है।
• इससे पहले, वर्मा, 1987 की एक भारतीय विदेश सेवा (आईएफएस) किंशासा में निवास के साथ डेमोक्रेटिक रिपब्लिक ऑफ कांगो में भारत के राजदूत थे।
• उन्होंने पहले विदेश मंत्रालय में मुख्यालय में निदेशक (मध्य यूरोप) के रूप में भी कार्य किया।
PESB ने अरुण कुमार सिंह को BPCL का अगला CMD नियुक्त किया
• सार्वजनिक उपक्रम चयन बोर्ड (Public Enterprises Selection Board-PESB), सरकार के हेड-हंटर, ने अरुण कुमार सिंह को राज्य के स्वामित्व वाली रिफाइनिंग और मार्केटिंग फर्म भारत पेट्रोलियम कारपोरेशन लिमिटेड (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd-BPCL) के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक के रूप में चुना है।
• अरुण कुमार सिंह वर्तमान में BPCL में विपणन के निदेशक हैं और निदेशक, रिफाइनरीज का अतिरिक्त प्रभार संभाल रहे हैं। उनके चयन को प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के नेतृत्व वाली कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति द्वारा अनुमोदित किया जाना है।

• हाउसिंग डॉट कॉम की एक रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, पुणे पहले स्थान पर है जबकि दिल्ली-एनसीआर स्वास्थ्य बुनियादी ढांचे से संबंधित मानकों में आठ प्रमुख शहरों में सबसे निचले स्थान पर है, जिसमें अस्पतालों के बिस्तरों की संख्या, वायु-जल गुणवत्ता और स्वच्छता शामिल है।

जन लघु वित्त बैंक ने “I choose my number” लॉन्च करने की घोषणा की
• जन स्मॉल फाइनेंस बैंक ने भारत भर में अपने सभी ग्राहकों के लिए "आई चूज़ माय नंबर (I choose my number)" सुविधा शुरू करने की घोषणा की है। यह नई सुविधा बैंक के मौजूदा और नए ग्राहकों को अपनी पसंदीदा संख्या को अपनी बचत या चालू खाता संख्या के रूप में चुनने का विकल्प देती है।
• बैंक अपने ग्राहकों को उनके बैंक खाते, बचत या चालू खाते के अंतिम 10 अंकों, के रूप में अपने पसंदीदा नंबर चुनने की अनुमति देगा।
• ग्राहक द्वारा चुने गए खाता संख्या का आवंटन, अनुरोधित संख्या की उपलब्धता के अधीन होगा।
• यह नई सुबिधा ग्राहकों को बैंक के साथ संबद्ध होने और जुड़ने में मदद करेगा क्योंकि वे शुभ या लकी नंबर चुनते हैं।
