South-west monsoon will knock on 28 May in Kerala: SkyMet

●   South-West Monsoon will knock Kerala on May 28, four days before its scheduled time.

●   Weather agency SkyMate, forecasting the weather, told Saturday that the monsoon will reach the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on May 20, and on May 24 it will grow towards Sri Lanka and then further east-Bay of Bengal.

Modi will lay the foundation stone of Zojila tunnel on May 19

●   Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 19, the founder of Zojila Pass, built to go to Ladakh in all seasons of the year from the Kashmir Valley.

●   Due to bad weather, the contact with the valley ends in Ladakh, this problem will end after the nearby construction.

●   Along with this, Zojila pass strategically is very important in terms of border security.

Collegium agreed on the name of Joseph

●   The Supreme Court Collegium meeting was held and the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court, KM Joseph, was re-sent to the government for the Supreme Court Judge, unanimously agreed to the judges.

●   Theoretically the members of all the Collegium are unanimous about sending Justice Joseph again.

● The Central Government had referred their names to the Collegium for a second consideration.

●  Indian Customs and Indian Postal Department organized the first joint conference to rationalize imports and discuss export by post in New Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan yesterday.

●   Customs Commissioners of all the States having Foreign Post Offices (FPOs) were present on this occasion with their equivalent postmaster generals.

Under the Smart City Scheme, BSNL gets Rs 150 crore work

●   Union Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha has said that BSNL has got the work of Rs 150 crore under Smart City project and also has many big and better opportunities in the near future.

●   Sinha said that apart from this, he has also a network of Fiber to the Home (FTTH) project of delivering Optical Fiber to Network for Spectrum (NFS) and households. It will also benefit him.

Under the National Gokul Mission, a Himmat Semen Center is being set up in Muranga of Purnea

●   The Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Radha Mohan Singh laid the foundation stone of the Himmat Semen Center in Purnea. He said that the establishment of the Himit semen center should be done at the cost of Rs. 64 crores under National Gokul Mission with 100% contribution from the Central Government.

●   In this 20 million rupees have already been released.

●   At present, artificial fertilization is being done by COMFED (Sudha) in Bihar.

JP Nadda organized a high level meeting on mosquito-borne diseases in Delhi

●  After a high level review meeting on the condition of mosquito-borne diseases with 20 local states in the country, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Shri J. P. Nadda made preparations for various agencies to protect and manage mosquito-borne diseases in the national capital here today. Presided over a meeting to review.

Ministry of Information & Broadcasting will set up a dedicated web portal to promote audio visual services in India.

●   The Film Sugarization Office is in the process of setting up a dedicated web portal which will disseminate information on services available in India for filming locations and post-production / post-production services.

●   Accordingly, the portal will prove to be helpful for the companies that seek permission to shoot in India, the expected production companies, the potential benefits and the overview of various locations in India.

●   Spain's 31-year-old tennis player Nadal defeated Diego in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.

India at sixth position in the trade optimism index

●   In the first quarter of 2018, India remained sixth in the Global Business Optimism Index released as part of Grant Thornton's International Trade Report.

●   India has been at the top of the list for four years, but this figure stands at sixth place this year.

●   This report has been prepared based on the results of survey of 2,500 businesses in 37 economies.

●   The top five states in the report are Austria, Finland, Indonesia, Netherlands and the US.

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accepted Pakistan’s hand in Mumbai attack

●  Nawaz Sharif, facing Pakistan's former PM and currently allegations of corruption, has admitted that Pakistani terrorists had a hand in the Mumbai attack.

●   This acceptance of Nawaz Sharif has also ended the claim of Pakistan that he has been subjected to accusations of raising terrorists.

●   Nawaz has admitted in an interview that terror organization in his country is active.

Walmart can bring Flipkart's IPO

●   Wal-Mart Inc., the leading American company of retail chains, can launch Flipkart's Initial Public Offerings (IPO), after which the investors will open the way.

●   Walmart can do such a deal only after four years of completion.

●   In the previous week, Walmart had announced to buy 77% stake in Flipkart.
