Ambassadors of 6 countries presented introduction letters to the President
●        The six countries of Slovak Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador, Uruguay, Ambassadors of Fiji and Kenya presented their introduction to President Ramnath Kovind at a function organized in Rashtrapati Bhavan.
●        The ambassadors who received their introduction letters are the following:
●        Mr. Ivan Lankarikam, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovakia,
●        Mr. Ariel Andrade Galindo, the ambassador of the Republic of El Salvador,
●        Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador, Mr. Hector Cueva Jacom,
●        Mr. Alvaro A. Atalierca, Ambassador of Uruguay
●        High Commissioner of the Republic of Fiji Shri Yogesh Punj,
●        Mr. Willy Kinekor Beat, High Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya
 
 Prime Minister will inaugurate ASI's new headquarters in New Delhi
●        Narendra Modi will inaugurate new headquarter of Archaeological Survey of India on Tilak Road, New Delhi on July 12, 2018.
●        The new headquarters will have state-of-the-art facilities with low energy consumption lighting system and rain water harvesting.
●        There will also be a Central Archaeological Library in this building, in which there will be a collection of about 1.5 lakh books and letter-journals.


J.P. Nadda inaugurated workshop on sustainability in population on the occasion of World Population Day
●        Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda inaugurated the 'Population Stabilization: A Right and Responsibility' workshop on the occasion of World Population Day 2018 in the Overseas Indian Center of New Delhi today.
●        He said that with TFR of 2015, we have reached the TFR rate of 2.2 in 2018, which means that India has earned a good pace of decline in it.

Memorandum of Understanding between DGFASLI and GMB for improving working conditions in Alang Ship Recycling Yard

●        The Directorate General of Factory Consultancy Services and Labor Institute and the Gujarat Maritime Board today signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the Ministry of Labor and Employment in the presence of Minister of State for Labor and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Minister of Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya.
●        Minister of State for Labor and Employment Santosh Kumar Gangwar expressed hope that the activities under this MoU will bring positive change in the functioning of the recycling industry and will improve the safety and health of the workers and supervisors who are deployed in Alang.
 
Montenegro diplomats will wear khadi on their national day
●        As a unique initiative, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission will participate in the National Day celebrations of Montenegro in India in New Delhi on July 13, 2018.
●        This festival has been named 'Trendy Montenegro with Indian Khadi', in which diplomats used for hand carved and hand-woven natural clothing.
 
Ministry launches 'Save water - Make video - get reward' competition
●        In order to involve Indian citizens on important issues related to water conservation and water management, the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga has launched a video contest 'Save the Water - Make Video - Get the Award' competition.
●        The Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation Ministry have started this competition in collaboration with the MyGov portal of the Government of India.
●        This competition has been started from July 10, 2018, and will continue till 4 November 2018.
 

BSNL launches India's first Internet telephony service
 
●        Government Telecom Service Provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has started Internet telephony service for the first time in the country from 11 July 2018.
●        Communications Minister Manoj Sinha launched this service at a function at BSNL corporate office.
●        It has been named 'Wings'.
●        BSNL Company is the first company to offer this service in the country.
●        Other companies are also coming in this area.


Indian Railways announces to run Sri Ramayana Express
 
●        Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has announced to run special tourist train named after Ramayana Express on July 10, 2018.
●        Indian Railways will launch the unique train Ramayana Express from November 14, 2018.
●        The IRCTC 800-seat train will run from Safdarjung railway station in Delhi.
●        The train will complete its journey in Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu in 16 days.
 
 
Jewis were given religious minority status in Gujarat
 
●        Religious minority status was given to the Jewish community in the state by the Gujarat government.
●        The state's Social Justice and Empowerment Department issued an order for this effect.
●        Government order has said that after careful consideration, the Gujarat government has decided to provide religious minority community status to the Jewish community living in the state.

●        Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has launched 'Technology Challenge' to promote appropriate technologies for cleaning sewer and septic tanks, which aims at eliminating the need for human penetration in septic tank / manhole etc.
●        After giving the responsibility to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, it has now launched 'Technology Challenge: Identifying suitable solutions for cleaning sewerage systems and septic tanks'.
●        This challenge will be a part of Mahatma Gandhi International Sanitation Conference, which will be held on October 2, 2018.

India and UK signed MoU to increase bilateral cooperation in legal matters
●        Hon'ble Law and Justice and Electronics and IT Minister Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad were on a visit to UK during the 6-10 July, 2018 on the invitation of UK Law Minister Mr. David Gauke.
●        According to the current legal provisions of their respective countries, the two ministers discussed discussions on advancing the legal profession or exchange of lawyers on the basis of intercourse.
●        Later, the two Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral cooperation in legal matters.
