ICMR signs MoU with ICAR
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) signed a MoU with Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for cooperation in the area of zoonoses, anti-microbial resistance, nutrition and pesticide residues.
● The MoU signing ceremony was presided over by Shri J P Nadda, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Shri Radha Mohan Singh, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
● Some of the significant outcomes of the MoU are as under:
● Exchange of scientific literature, information and methodology;
● Utilization of facilities and expertise in programmes of common interest as may be mutually agreed upon.
● Exchange of pertinent research material
● Zoonoses have been defined as diseases and infections that are naturally transmitted between vertebrate animals and humans.
● Around 60% of all human diseases and around 75% of emerging infectious diseases are zoonotic however; these are missed, not recognized or understood in developing countries like India.
भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद (आईसीएआर) आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान (आईसीएमआर) ने गुरुवार को एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किया।
● एमओयू से संयुक्त सहयोग के तहत चिकित्सा क्षेत्र में स्वास्थ्य पहल को आगे बढ़ाने में आशातीत सहयोग मिलेगा।
● दरअसल पिछले दो सालों में एवियन इंफ्लुइंजा, बर्ड फ्लू जैसे रोगों से ग्रामीण शहरी दोनों ही क्षेत्र प्रभावित हुए हैं।
● इसका सीधा असर अर्थ व्यवस्था पर भी पड़ा है।
● स्वास्थ्य पहल के तहत जूनोसेज, एंटीमाइक्रोबॉयल प्रतिरोधन, पेस्टिसाइड एवं पोषण में सार्थक गतिशील सहयोग भी अपेक्षित है।
● दिल्ली और अन्य राज्यों में एच5एन8 के साथ ही एवियन इंफ्लुइंजा (बर्ड फ्लू) के मौजूदा प्रकोप के देखते हुए उनकी रोकथाम नियंत्रण के लिए यह समझौता किया गया है।
● इस दौरान केंद्रीय कृषि किसान कल्याण मंत्री राधा मोहन सिंह भी उपस्थित रहे।
