Guruprasad Mohapatra appointed as Chairman of Airports Authority of India
Odisha-born bureaucrat Guruprasad Mohapatra was on 15 July 2016 appointed as the Chairman of Airports Authority of India (AAI) with effect from 19 July 2016.Guruprasad Mohapatra is a 1986 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre.
• Prior to the recent posting, he was posted as Joint Secretary in Union Ministry of Commerce.
• Mohpatra also served the Sales Tax department as Special Commissioner (Enforcement), and as a Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and as the Commissioner of Transport.
• He was the Joint MD of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) during his service in Gujarat.
• He had also served as Municipal Commissioner of Ahmedabad for over three years.
• He started in the State Electricity Sector with the erstwhile Gujarat Electricity Board in 2002 and worked with various Electricity Companies such as GSEC and the distribution companies such as PGVCL, DGVCL & UGVCL.
• He is an MA in Political Science, MPhil in Diplomacy (International Relation) and also an MBA degree holder.
ओडिशा में जन्मे आईएएस अधिकारी डॉ. गुरुप्रसाद मोहपात्रा को केंद्र सरकार ने 15 जुलाई 2016 को भारतीय विमानपत्तन प्राधिकरण का नया अध्यक्ष नियुक्त कर दिया है. इसकी शुरुवात 19 जुलाई 2016 से होगी
• गुजरात औद्योगिक विकास प्राधिकरण सहित वाणिज्य कर विभाग में अपनी सेवा दे चुके है.
• मोहपात्रा ने सेल्स टैक्स विभाग में भी अपनी सेवाएं दी हैं जहाँ उन्होंने स्पेशल कमिश्नर के पद पर और वाणिज्य कर विभाग के कमिश्नर के तौर पर और यातायात के कमिश्नर के तौर पर भी काम कर चुके हैं
• मोहपात्रा गुजरात औद्द्योगिक विकास कारपोरेशन के जॉइंट एम.डी. भी रह चुके हैं
• उन्होंने तीन साल अहमदाबाद के नगर आयुक्त के रूप में सेवा दी है.
• उन्होंने 2002 में गुजरात इलेक्ट्रिसिटी बोर्ड के साथ काम की शुरुवात की और गुजरात इलेक्ट्रिसिटी बोर्ड, जीएसईसी, यूजीवीसीएल, पीजीवीसीएल और डीजीवीसीएल सरीखी कंपनियां हैं जिनके साथ मोहपात्रा ने काम किया है.
• वो राजनीतिक विज्ञान में एमए है, डिप्लोमेसी में उन्होंने एम.फिल किया हुआ है और उन्होंने एमबीए भी किया है.
