Government activates nearly 2 lakh micro-ATMs
About 2 lakh micro-ATMs will come to the rescue of people as the government has directed banks to activate nearly 1.1 lakh such ATMs in rural areas and nearly 90,000 in urban and semi-urban areas.
● Micro-ATMs are handheld devices enabled with GPRS and some have a fingerprint scanner attached to them, making them Aadhaar-compatible.
● All that a customer has to do is use the debit card as he would in an ATM, and the moment the card is swiped, the micro-ATM connects it to the core banking system and money is either debited or credited from the account.
● A large number of micro-ATMs will be deployed across the country to facilitate the disbursement of new currency.
● The government has also increased the cash holding limit of business correspondents to Rs 50,000.
500 और 1000 रुपये के पुराने नोटों को बंद किए जाने के बाद नोट पाने की जद्दोजहद में अब 2 लाख माइक्रो एटीएम राहत पहुंचाएंगे।
● सरकार ने बैंकों को ग्रामीण इलाकों में लगभग 1.1 लाख माइक्रो एटीएम और शहरी—अर्द्ध शहरी इलाकों में लगभग 90000 माइक्रो एटीएम ऐक्टिवेट करने के निर्देश दिए हैं।
● अभी माइक्रो एटीएम से हर हफ्ते लगभग 70000 ट्रांजैक्शंस होते हैं। इसी वह से सरकार को उम्मीद है कि इससे बैंक ब्रांच और एटीएम नेटवर्क पर दबाव कम होगा।
● लोगों को होगी सहूलियत
● माइक्रो एटीएम हैंडहेल्ड डिवाइस होती हैं जिनमें जीपीआरएस होता है। इसमें में फिंगरप्रिंट स्कैनर भी होता है, जो इसे आधार के अनुकूल बनाता है।
● सरकार ने बिजनेस कॉरसपॉन्डेंस के लिए कैश होल्डिंग लिमिट को भी बढ़ाकर 50,000 तक कर दिया है और अब इन रेप्रिज़ेंटटिव्स को कई बार कैश निकालने की इजाजत होगी, जबकि पहले यह दिन में एक बार ही कैश निकाल सकते थे।
● सरकार ग्रामीण और शहरी इलाकों में माइक्रो-एटीएम की संख्या बढ़ाने की भी तैयारी कर रही है।
