Former CJI Justice Kapadia passed away

Former CJI Justice Kapadia passed away. He was the 38th Chief Justice of India.He was succeded by Altamas Kabir and preceded by K. G. Balakrishnan. He Was a graduate from Government Law College, Mumbai.He served as an additional judge of the Bombay High Court, Chief Justice of Uttarakhand High Court and a judge of the Supreme court.
On the administrative side, The Chief Justice carries out the following functions;
1. Allocation of matters to various other judges of The Supreme Court
2. Maintenance of roaster
3. Appointment of court officials
4. General and other miscellaneous matters relating to supervision and functioning of The Supreme Court.
5. Acts as The Chief Justice of India.
