December 4 : Navy Day
Union Minister for Civil Aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju will be the chief guest of this year’s Navy Day function at the Ramakrishna Beach here on December 4.
● The Eastern Naval Command is celebrating the Navy Day on December 4 every year to mark the deadly attack by its missile boats on the Karachi harbour on this day in the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
● The operational demonstration of capability and versatility of Naval ships, aircraft and the Special Forces is the event people of Visakhapatnam and neighbouring areas look forward to every year.
● The Navy Day starts with paying homage to the Services personnel who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1971 war with Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command Vice-Admiral H.C.S. Bisht and dignitaries laying wreaths at the War Memorial in the beach road.
● The much awaited operational display will be held in the evening. Twenty-four ships like destroyers, Corvettes, fast attack craft and landing ships and 17 naval aircraft will participate in the show.
चार दिसंबर को इंडियन नेवी अपना 45वां नेवी डे या नौसेना दिवस मनाएगी। सन 1971 में भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच हुई जंग में इंडियन नेवी ने बड़ा अहम रोल अदा किया था।
● तीन दिसंबर 1971 को भारत और पाक के बीच जंग का ऐलान हुआ। चार दिसंबर को इंडियन नेवी ने अपना मोर्चा संभाल लिया। इंडियन नेवी ऑपरेशन ट्राइडेंट की शुरुआत की। नेवी ने पाकिस्तान स्थित कराची के बंदरगाह पर बम बरसाने शुरू किए। चार और पांच दिसंबर तक इंडियन नेवी ने पाक को मुंहतोड़ जवाब दिया।
● उस युद्ध के बाद हर वर्ष इंडियन नेवी के योगदान को सराहने के लिए नेवी डे की शुरुआत की गई।
● इंडियन नेवी ने दो एंटी-सबमरीन और एक टैंकर के साथ यह ऑपरेशन शुरू किया था। पांच पाकिस्तानी नाविकों और 700 नागरिक घायल हो गए थे। ऑपरेशन ट्राइडेंट को इंडियन नेवी के सबसे सफल ऑपरेशन में से एक माना जाता है। इंडियन नेवी की ताकत 58,000 सैनिकों से भी ज्यादा की है।
● नौसेना दिवस पर सेवा कर्मी फ्लैग ऑफिसर कमांडिंग-इन-चीफ पूर्वी नौसेना कमान के वाइस एडमिरल एच.सी.एस बिष्ट के साथ 1971 के युद्ध के दौरान सर्वोच्च बलिदान दिया को श्रद्धांजलि देते हैं।
● बहुप्रतीक्षित परिचालन प्रदर्शन शाम को आयोजित किया जाएगा। चौबीस विध्वंसक जहाजों, वाहक, फास्ट अटैक क्राफ्ट और लैंडिंग पोत और 17 विमान नौसेना के इस शो में भाग लेंगे।
