●    According to railways, there are about 20,000 trucks which are not meant for the NCR, but enter the region to travel further.

'Supersolids' Confirmed as New State of Matter

An international team of scientists has announced the discovery of a new state of matter in a material that appears to be an insulator, superconductor, metal and magnet all rolled into one, saying that it could lead to the development of more effective high-temperature superconductors.
●    If these properties are confirmed, this new state of matter will allow scientists to better understand why some materials have the potential to achieve superconductivity at a relativity high critical temperature(Tc) - "high" as in −135 °C as opposed to −243.2 °C.
●    Because superconductivity allows a material to conduct electricity without resistance, which means no heat, sound, or any other form of energy release, achieving this would revolutionise how we use and produce energy, but it’s only feasible if we can achieve it at so-called high temperatures.
●    When put through an array of tests, this structure displayed a combination of insulating, superconducting, metallic, and magnetic phases, including a brand new one, which the researchers have named 'Jahn-Teller metals'.

Snapchat, the disappearing message service with big media ambitions, has finished raising $1.8 billion, according to a Wednesday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

●    Snapchat, based in Los Angeles, said in the filing that it began raising the latest round on Feb. 17, 2015.
●    Over the last year, new investors, including General Atlantic, Sequoia Capital, T. Rowe Price and the hedge fund Lone Pine, have bought stakes in Snapchat, according to people who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the talks were private.
●    As a private company, Snapchat is not required to disclose the identities of investors or its valuation.
●    A representative for Snapchat declined to comment on the funding. The start-up’s previous investors include Fidelity Investments and Coatue.

Richard Branson Launches New Space Company 'Virgin Orbit'

Virgin Group’s commercial space venture, Galactic Ventures, has spun off one of its projects into a new company called Virgin Orbit and it could end up being its most lucrative.
●    Virgin Orbit will focus on launching small satellites into space using its LauncherOne orbital launch vehicle.
●    This vehicle is essentially a 747-400 airplane designed to hold a rocket under its wing.
●    Once the aircraft reaches a certain altitude, the rocket would be fired off into space to deliver small satellites for companies that want to take images of Earth, providing Internet and other communications services.
●    This new company reflects two trends: the development of mini-satellites and the growing demand by companies to gain access to space in a more cost-effective way.
●    Richard Branson, the billionaire entrepreneur who founded Virgin and has been the driving force in launching its space tourism company, said that Launcher One was created with the same philosophy as Space Ship Two.
