China kick starts microsatellites
Tiangong-2, the experimental space lab of China, on 23 October 2016 successfully launched a micro-satellite, Banxing-2.
● The micro-satellite is roughly the size of a desktop printer.
● At present, Tiangong-2 is orbiting the Earth with two astronauts on board.
● Its mission is to take photographs of Tiangong-2 and the Shenzhou 11 spacecraft, which docked with the lab on 19 October 2016.
● The satellite, which the media has nicknamed "Selfie Stick", also has an infrared camera that is temperature - sensitive.
● With three solar panels, the satellite can also generate enough power to adjust its orbit to shoot pictures of the lab and spacecraft.
● The Shenzhou-11 spacecraft carried two astronauts into space on the 17 October 2016. It docked with Tiangong-2 two days later.
● In 2008, its predecessor, Banxing-1, did the same work for Shenzhou 7.
चीन के अन्तरिक्ष अनुसंधान केंद्र तियानगोंग 2 ने 23 अक्टूबर 2016 को माइक्रोसेटेलाईट बैंक्सिंग 2 का सफल प्रक्षेपण किया. इसका आकार किसी कंप्यूटर के साधारण प्रिंटर जितना है.
● फ़िलहाल तियानगोंग-2 दो अन्तरिक्ष यात्रियों के साथ पृथ्वी का चक्कर लगा रहा है.
● इसका वजन 47 किलोग्राम है. इसमें विज़िबल लाइट कैमरा, 25 मेगापिक्सल का एक कैमरा तथा वृहद लेंस भी लगाया गया है.
● इसका मिशन तियानगोंग 2 की फोटो लेना है तथा शेंजो 11 स्पेसक्राफ्ट की तस्वीरें लेना भी इसका उद्देश्य है.
● इस सेटेलाईट को मीडिया ने सेल्फी स्टिक का नाम दिया है. इसमें एक इन्फ्रारेड कैमरा भी लगा है जो तापमान सेंसिटिव है.
● तीन सोलर पैनलों की सहायता से यह इतनी उर्जा एकत्रित कर लेता है कि यह ऑर्बिट मंे रहकर लैब को फोटो भेज सकता है.
● शेंज़ोऊ-11 स्पेसक्राफ्ट में दो अन्तरिक्षयात्री भी सवार हैं. यह प्रक्षेपित किये जाने के दो दिन बाद तियानगोंग-2 से जाकर जुड़ा.
● वर्ष 2008 में बैंक्सिंग-1 प्रक्षेपित किया गया था.
