China and Bangladesh ink 27 agreements
Bangladesh and China have agreed to elevate their cooperation to “strategic partnership” during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the South Asian country on Friday.
● The two countries have also agreed to jointly advance China’s ‘belt and road initiative’ and establish “institutional cooperation” in areas of maritime issues and counter-terrorism.
● Mr. Xi’s milestone visit to Dhaka, first in 30 years by a Chinese president, also witnessed the signing of 26 agreements on different sectors.
● Ms. Hasina said the agreements have created a platform for “our two countries to cooperate at a higher plane.”
● She hoped that with cooperation from China, Bangladesh will be able to reach its goal to become a middle-income country by 2021, and wished that the friendship between the two countries will grow stronger.
बांग्लादेश और चीन ने 27 समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। चीनी राष्ट्रपति ज़ि जिनपिंग और प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना के बीच बातचीत के बाद इन समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए।
● ज़ि ने कहा, चीन-बांग्लादेश के संबंध अब एक नये ऐतिहासिक शुरूआती पड़ाव पर हैं। बीजिंग ने इससे पहले इस हफ्ते एक बयान में कहा था कि यह यात्रा एक ‘मील का पत्थर’ साबित होगी क्योंकि इस दौरान ‘दोनों पक्ष समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर करेंगे और द्विपक्षीय संबंधों बेहतर होंगे।’
● एक आशाजनक भविष्य की तरफ बढ़ रहे हैं। चीन ऐसे दोस्तों एवं भागीदारों की तरह आगे बढ़ने के लिए बांग्लादेश के साथ काम करने को तैयार है, जो एक दूसरे पर भरोसा करें।
● बांग्लादेश ने चीनी राष्ट्रपति क्सी जिनपिंग का भव्य स्वागत किया। जिनपिंग पिछले 30 साल में यहां आने वाले पहले चीनी राष्ट्राध्यक्ष हैं।
● उन्होंने आशा व्यक्त की है कि चीन से सहयोग के साथ, बांग्लादेश 2021 तक अपने लक्ष्य तक पहुँचने के लिए एक मध्यम आय वाले देश बनने के लिए सक्षम हो जाएगा, और कामना की कि दोनों देशों के बीच दोस्ती मजबूत हो।
