Astronauts return from 115 day ISS Mission
Three astronauts landed safely in Kazakhstan on Sunday following a 115-day mission aboard the International Space Station, including US astronaut Kate Rubins, the first person to sequence DNA in space.
● They were then taken to a nearby medical tent for initial examination.
● Molecular biologist Rubins and Onishi were both returning from their first missions in space, while flight commander Ivanishin undertook a five-month mission at the ISS five years ago.
● Their journey back to Earth marks the first complete mission to and from the orbital lab for a new generation of Soyuz spacecraft with upgraded features.
● Andrei Borisenko and Sergey Ryzhykov of Russia and NASA astronaut Robert Shane Kimbrough remain on board the space station.
● The space laboratory has been orbiting Earth at about 28,000kmph (17,000 miles per hour) since 1998.
अंतरिक्ष में 115 दिन बिताने के बाद नासा के 49 एक्सपेडिशन का हिस्सा बनीं केट रुबिना अपने अन्य दोनों साथियों के साथ रविवार को धरती पर सकुशल वापस आ गईं।
● केट रुबिना ऐसी पहली महिला हैं जिन्होंने अंतरिक्ष में डीएनए को लेकर परीक्षण किए। इस दौरान उन्होंने अपने साथियों के साथ इसमें होने वाले परिवर्तनों की भी जांच की।
● सुयोज यान केट उनके अन्य दो साथी रूस के अनातोली इवानिशिन और जापान के टकुया ओनिशी को लेकर कजाखिस्तान के जेखाजेगन में रविवार की सुबह करीब 9:58 पर पहुंचा।
● रुबिन ने मॉलीक्यूलर बायोलॉजी में डिग्री हासिल की है। यह पहला मौका था जब वह नासा के मिशन का हिस्सा बनीं।
● उनके द्वारा किए गए परीक्षण अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों के लिए भविष्य में नई राहें खोलने वाले साबित होंगे। साथ ही वहां पर और धरती पर वापस आने के बाद होने वाली बीमारी को सही करने में भी यह परीक्षण काफी सहायक साबित होंगे।
● अंतरिक्ष प्रयोगशाला 1998 के बाद से 28,000 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा की रफ़्तार से पृथ्वी की परिक्रमा कर रहा है।
