Ashok Chawla is new Yes Bank Non-Executive Part time Chairman
Former finance secretary and Competition Commission of India chairman Ashok Chawla has taken charge as Non-Executive Chairman of Yes Bank from today.
● Chawla took over after non-executive part-time Chairperson Radha Singh completed her tenure as the bank's director yesterday, Yes Bank informed the stock exchanges.
● A former IAS officer, Singh was non-independent director on the bank's board since April 2008 and was appointed chairperson in 2014.
● In March this year, Chawla was appointed additional non executive director on the bank's board.
● He was to be appointed as non executive chairman of the bank after the end of Singh's term, the bank had then informed the bourses.
पूर्व वित्तीय सचिव और भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग के चेयरमैन अशोक चावला को यस बैंक का गैर-कार्यकारी चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया गया है.
● बंबई शेयर बाजार को दी जानकारी में बैंक ने बताया कि उन्होंने आज पदभार ग्रहण किया.
● बैंक की गैर कार्यकारी (अस्थायी) अध्यक्ष राधा सिंह का बैंक के निदेशक के तौर पर कार्यकाल समाप्त हो गया.
● एक पूर्व आईएएस अधिकारी सिंह ने अप्रैल 2008 के बाद बैंक के बोर्ड पर गैर स्वतंत्र निदेशक थे और 2014 में अध्यक्ष नियुक्त किये गया।
● चावला 30 अक्तूबर 2016 से बैंक के अंशकालिक गैर-कार्यकारी चेयरमैन के तौर पर पदभार ग्रहण करेंगे।
● इसी दिन बैंक की मौजूदा चेयरपर्सन राधा सिंह का कार्यकाल समाप्त हो रहा है।
● चावला को 5 मार्च 2016 को बैंक का स्वतंत्र निदेशक नियुक्त किया गया था।
● पेशे से नौकरशाह रहे चावला सेवानिवृति के बाद भारतीय प्रतिस्पर्धा आयोग के चेयरमैन रहे हैं।
