Anil Baijal to be appointed 21st Lieutenant Governor of Delhi
Former IAS officer Anil Baijal is all set to be appointed as the 21st Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. The approval for his appointment was given on 28 December 2016 by President Pranab Mukherjee.
● Anil Baijal is a 1969 batch IAS officer of Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre.
● At present, he is associated with the Vivekananda International Foundation.
● He has obtained a master's degree in Arts from the University of Allahabad. He is an alumnus of University of East Anglia.
● He has also served as the Home Secretary under the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
● He is the former Vice-Chairman of Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
● He retired as Secretary of the Urban Development Ministry in 2006.
राष्ट्रपति प्रणब मुखर्जी ने केंद्र सरकार की सिफारिश पर 70 वर्षीय अनिल बैजल को दिल्ली का नया उपराज्यपाल नियुक्त किया है. अनिल बैजल दिल्ली के 21वें उपराज्यपाल होंगे.
● उन्होंने इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय और ईस्ट एंगिला यूनिवर्सिटी से पढ़ाई की.
● अनिल बैजल दिल्ली विकास प्राधिकारण के पूर्व वाइस चेयरमैन पद पर भी कार्य कर चुके हैं.
● बैजल शहरी विकास मंत्रालय के सचिव पद से 2006 में सेवानिवृत हुए.
● यूपीए सरकार के दौरान वह जवाहर लाल नेहरू राष्ट्रीय शहरी नवीनीकरण मिशन से जुड़े रहे. उन्हें शहरी इलाकों में इन्फ्रास्ट्रक्चर सुधारने हेतु मिशन के फ्लैगशिप प्रोग्राम के पायलट के रूप में भी जाना जाता है.
● उपराज्यपाल पद पर नियुक्त से पूर्व अनिल बैजल विवेकानंद इंटरनेशनल फाउंडेशन में एक्जिक्यूटिव कौंसिल के सदस्य भी रहे.
● उन्होंने एयर इंडिया को- सीएमडी और प्रसार भारती को सीइओ के रूप में भी अपनी सेवाएँ प्रदान की.
● वह भारती कारपोरेशन के चीफ ऐग्जिक्युटिव भी रह चुके हैं.
