Amazon launches global startup program Launchpad in India
E-commerce giant Amazon on 5 December 2016 launched its global startup program named Launchpad in India. The Launchpad programme was launched with an aim to enable Indian startups to sell their products overseas.
● In this regard, Amazon India tied up with Start Up India programme of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), NASSCOM's 10000 Startups, Indian Angel Network (IAN), NITI Aayog, Governments of Maharashtra, Telangana and TiE.
● It aims to help startups to sell, market, and deliver their products to gain more visibility.
● It will provide an exceptional opportunity for Indian Startups to get access to big consumer markets nationally and internationally.
● Through this program, small entrepreneurs and innovators can use Amazon’s online platform to increase scale of their businesses and get easy access to global markets.
● Amazon is an American international electronic commerce company with headquarters in Seattle, Washington, United States.
● Founded in 1994 by Jeff Bezos, it is the world's largest online retailer.
● It entered into Indian e-commerce market in 2013 with the launch of its marketplace Amazon.in, offering books, movies and television shows for sale.
आनॅलाइन मार्केट प्लेस अमेजन ने भारतीय स्टार्टअप को बढावा देने एवं उन्हें वैश्विक बाजार में अपने उत्पाद बेचने में मदद करने के उद्देश्य अपने वैश्विक कार्यक्रम अमेजन लॉन्चपैड को पेश किया है।
● कंपनी ने भारत में इसके लिए स्टार्टअप इंडिया, नासकॉम 10,000 स्टार्टअप और इंडियन एंजेल नेटवर्क (आइएएन) से भी साझेदारी की है।
● इसकी मदद से उनके नेटवर्क/पोर्टफोलियो से स्टार्टअप की पहचान करने एवं उनका नामांकन कराने में मदद की जायेगी।
● अमेजन ने इस साझेदारी की घोषणा करते हुये कहा कि इस कार्यक्रम का लक्ष्य भारत के स्टार्ट-अप समुदाय की मदद करना और सरकार की स्टार्ट-अप इंडिया पहल को समर्थन देना है।
● उसने कहा कि अमेजन लॉन्चपैड भारतीय स्टार्टअप को भारत एवं विदेशों में अमेजन के लाखों ग्राहकों के लिए अपने खोजपरक उत्पादों के विपणन, बिक्री एवं डिलीवरी करने के लिए एक मंच मुहैया करायेगा।
● इसके लिए अमेजन ने लॉन्चपैड स्टोर भी शुरू किया है जिसमें वियरेबल टेक्नोलॉजी, स्मार्ट होम्स, खाद्य एवं पेय, हेल्थ मॉनीटरिंग, एजूकेशनल खिलौने आदि जैसे 400 से अधिक खोजपरक उत्पाद होंगे।
● इसके लॉन्च से पहले 25 भारतीय स्टार्टअप इस कार्यक्रम से जुड़ चुके हैं। अमेजन इंडिया ने उपाध्यक्ष एवं कंट्री प्रमुख अमित अग्रवाल ने कहा कि अमेजन ने हमेशा से नवाचार को प्रोत्साहन एवं सहयोग दिया है।
● अमेजन लॉन्चपैड को भारत लाकर, सरकार की स्टार्ट-अप इंडिया पहल को सहयोग करने के लिए अमेजन उत्साहित हैं।
