2 lakh heavy diesel vehicles to go off Delhi roads
Nearly 2 lakh heavy diesel vehicles more than 15 years old will not be allowed to ply in the city from Sunday.
● They cannot be parked here either.
● The transport department has drawn up a list of 1.91 lakh such vehicles that it has deregistered on the orders of the National Green Tribunal.
● Senior government officials said the list had been sent to the traffic police late Friday night, with instructions to impound them immediately.
● The list has details of the vehicles, including owner's name, registration number and address. It also specifies the RTO where the vehicle was registered.
● The transport department has identified 21 locations where the impounded vehicles will be kept but that might not be enough to park nearly two lakh vehicles.
● Traffic officers say they have requested the government to provide additional land space.
● As of now, the traffic pits can accommodate only 1,000-1,200 heavy vehicles at a time.
देश की राजधानी दिल्ली की हवा को साफ करने के लिए डीजल के 15 साल पुराने भारी वाहन अब नहीं चलेंगे। प्रदूषण को लेकर आए नेशनल ग्रीन ट्रिब्युनल के आदेश के बाद दिल्ली ट्रैफिक पुलिस करीब 2 लाख 15 वर्ष पुराने भारी डीजल वाहनों को जब्त करेगी।
● दिल्ली ट्रैफिक पुलिस अधिकारियों ने ट्रैफिक पुलिसकर्मियों को सड़कों पर चल रहे 15 वर्ष पुराने डीजल वाहनों को जब्त करने के आदेश दे दिए हैं।
● एनजीटी के आदेश के बाद आज से डीजल के 15 साल पुराने भारी वाहन दिल्ली की सड़कों पर अब नहीं दिखेंगे।
● इतना ही नहीं ये पुराने वाहन अब दिल्ली और इसके आसपास की सड़कों पर खड़े भी नहीं हो सकते।
● परिवहन विभाग ने ऐसे 1 लाख 91 हजार वाहनों की लिस्ट तैयार की है जिनके रजिस्ट्रेशन कैंसल कर दिए जाएंगे।
● बता दें कि नेशनल ग्रीन ट्रिब्युनल ने अपने आदेश में इन वाहनों के दिल्ली में प्रवेश पर पाबंदी लगा दी है।
● एक अंग्रेजी अखबार के मुताबिक सरकार के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी ने बताया कि शुक्रवार की रात को ही ऐसे वाहनों की सूची ट्रैफिक पुलिस को भेज दी गई है।
● इन सूचियों में 15 साल पुरानी सभी गाड़ियों के मालिक के नाम उनके पते और उनका रजिस्ट्रेशन नंबर दिया गया है।
● इस सूची को अलग आरटीओ के दफ्तर में भेजा गया है जहां पुरानी गाड़ियां पंजीकृत हैं।
