India’s GDP to contract 16.5 per cent in April-June quarter

• State Bank of India’s research report Ecowrap expects the country’s GDP to contract by 16.5 per cent during the first quarter of the current fiscal.

• Earlier in May, Ecowrap had estimated Q1 FY21 GDP contraction at over 20 per cent and now pegs it at much lower contraction of 16.5 per cent for the quarter.

RBI releases framework for authorisation of pan-India Umbrella Entity for Retail Payments

• Reserve Bank of India has released the ‘framework for authorization of pan-India Umbrella Entity for Retail Payments’ in India.

• This means that RBI has allowed companies/entities to apply to RBI to set-up pan-India umbrella entity/entities focussing on retail payment systems in India. After receiving approval from RBI, the entity may start functioning as an Umbrella Entity for Retail Payments in India just like NPCI.

• Presently NPCI is the only Umbrella Entity for Retail Payments in India.

Kevin de Bruyne named Premier League Player of the Season 2019-20

• In Football, the Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has been named as the Premier League Player of the Season 2019-20.

• He is the only third Belgian footballer to win the award for the league’s top performer, after Eden Hazard (2014-15) and Vincent Kompany (2011-12).The 29-year-old scored 20 goals in the 2019-20 season.

Dream 11 wins title sponsorship rights of IPL 2020

• The title sponsorship rights of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 has been bagged by the fantasy gaming start-up “Dream 11“. The fantasy gaming start-up has bagged the title sponsorship rights for Rs 222 crore.

• This comes after the previous sponsor, Vivo backed out of IPL 2020.The IPL will be held from September 19 to November 10, 2020.

Ashok Lavasa resigns as Election Commissioner of India, appointed as ADB Vice President

• Ashok Lavasa resigns as Election Commissioner of India to join the Phillippines-based Asian Development Bank (ADB) as its Vice- President in September 2020.

• Earlier on 15th July 2020, Lavasa was appointed as the Vice President of Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Satya Pal Malik appointed as Governor of Meghalaya

• Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Goa, has been appointed as the Meghalaya Governor, succeeding Tathagata Roy. Roy completed his 5-year tenure by serving as Tripura Governor for 3 years and the Governor of Meghalaya for the remaining two years.

• Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has been asked to perform duties of Goa Governor for the time being.

SEBI appoints G P Garg as Executive Director

• The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said it has appointed G P Garg as executive director (ED).

• Prior to his promotion as ED, Garg was Chief General Manager in Sebi and has handled several assignments since joining in January 1994.

IIT Madras Tops Atal Rankings (ARIIA) 2020

• The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has retained the top position in the ‘Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements,’ (ARIIA) 2020 for being the best centrally funded institution in India.

• The premier institute has topped in the list of top centrally funded innovative educational institutes in India for the second consecutive year.IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IISc Bengaluru and IIT Kharagpur are the among the top five centrally funded institutions in the list respectively.

• The ARIIA ranking was launched in 2019 by the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education. The objective of ARIIA is to rank higher education institutions and universities in India as per Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Startup, and Development amongst faculty and students.

World Humanitarian Day

• The World Humanitarian Day (WHD) is observed every year on 19 August to pay tribute to humanitarian personnel and those workers who lost or risked their lives while doing humanitarian service. In 2020 we are celebrating the 11th WHD.

• The theme for 2020 WHD is #RealLifeHeroes. The theme is a tribute and a heartfelt thanks to all aid and health workers who have committed their lives to helping others, during this difficult time of pandemic.

• Retired Air Vice Marshal Arjun Subramaniam has written a book which throws light on comprehensive account of war and conﬂict in contemporary India over the past ﬁve decades next month.

• The book titled “Full Spectrum: India”s Wars, 1972-2020″ is a sequel to his previous book “India”s Wars: A Military History, 1947-1971″. It has been published by HarperCollins India and will be released in September 2020.

जीडीपी में आ सकती है 16.5 प्रतिशत की गिरावट: एसबीआई रिपोर्ट

• चालू वित्त वर्ष की पहली तिमाही में जीडीपी में 16.5 प्रतिशत की गिरावट की आशंका।

• कॉरपोरेट जीवीए वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 में आय में गिरावट के मुकाबले बेहतर रहा है।

• अब तक करीब 1,000 सूचीबद्ध इकाइयों ने पहली तिमाही के वित्तीय परिणाम की घोषणा की है।

• भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (एसबीआई) के अर्थशास्त्रियों ने चालू वित्त वर्ष की पहली तिमाही में देश के सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (जीडीपी) में 16.5 प्रतिशत की गिरावट की आशंका जताई है। इससे पहले, मई में एसबीआई रिपोर्ट में चालू वित्त वर्ष की पहली तिमाही में जीडीपी में 20 प्रतिशत से अधिक की गिरावट की आशंका जताई गई थी। हालांकि वर्तमान अनिश्चित परिदृश्य में कुछ शर्तों के साथ अब इसमें 16.5 प्रतिशत की गिरावट का अनुमान जताया गया है।

खुदरा भुगतान प्रणालियों के परिचालन के नियम जारी, आरबीआई ने आवेदन आमंत्रित किये

• रिजर्व बैंक ने मंगलवार को अखिल भारतीय स्तर पर खुदरा भुगतान प्रणालियों के संचालन के लिये छत्र-इकाई स्थापित/ परिचालित करने के नियम जारी किए और काम शुरू करने की इच्छुक कंपनियों से 26 फरवरी 2021 तक आवेदन आमंत्रित किये हैं। छत्र इकाई अपने नाम के तहत खुदारा बाजार में विभिन्न प्रणालियों की स्थापना, प्रबंध और परिचालन कर सकेगी।

• रिजर्व बैंक की रूपरेखा के अनुसार राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर इस प्रकार की खुदरा भुगतान प्रणाली का संचालन करने के लिये आवेदन करने वाली कंपनी की नेटवर्थ 500 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक होनी चाहिये। ऐसी कंपनी को खुदरा भुगतान के क्षेत्र में एटीएम, खुदरा बिक्री केन्द्रों, आधार आधारित भुगतान और प्राप्ति सेवाओं सहित समूचे खुदरा क्षेत्र की नई भुगतान व्यवस्था का संचालन और व्यवस्था देखनी होगी।

• कंपनी इस प्रकार के भुगतान केन्दों की स्थापना करने से लेकर उनकी देखरेख और परिचालन के लिये जवाबदेह होगी। रिजर्व बैंक की इस संबंध में जारी विज्ञप्ति में कहा गया है, ‘‘रिजर्व बैंक इस प्रकार की व्यापक इकाई स्थापित करने वालों से आवेदन आमंत्रित करता है।

• ये आवेदन 26 फरवरी 2021 को सामान्य कामकाज का समय समाप्त होने से पहले उपलब्ध कराये गये फार्म- ए में भरकर सौंप दिये जाने चाहिये। रिजर्व बैंक के अनुसार - इस प्रकार की वृहद इकाई को बैंकों और गैर- बैंकों के लिये क्लयरिंग और निपटान प्रणाली का परिचालन करने की भी अनुमति होगी। इसमें उसे निपटान, तरलता और परिचालन संबंधी जोखिमों की पहचान और उन्हें व्यवस्थित भी करना होगा। इसके साथ ही पूरी प्रणाली की ईमानदारी और सत्यनिष्ठा को बनाये रखना होगा।

केविन डी ब्रुने को प्रीमियर लीग प्लेयर ऑफ़ द सीज़न 2019-20 के रूप मे नामित किया गया

• फुटबॉल में, मैनचेस्टर सिटी के मिडफील्डर केविन डी ब्रुने को सीजन 2019-20 के प्रीमियर लीग प्लेयर के रूप में नामित किया गया है।

• वह ईडन हज़ार्ड (2014-15) और विंसेंट कोमोंस (2011-12) के बाद लीग के शीर्ष प्लेयर के लिए पुरस्कार जीतने वाले एकमात्र तीसरे बेल्जियम के फुटबॉलर हैं। 29 वर्षीय ने 2019-20 सत्र में 20 गोल किए।

Dream-11 बना IPL 2020 का टाइटल स्पॉन्सर, 222 करोड़ में खरीदे राइट्स

• फेंटेसी खेल प्लेटफॉर्म ड्रीम11 ने चीनी कंपनी वीवो की जगह लगभग साढे चार महीने के करार के लिए 222 करोड़ रुपये की बोली के साथ इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग (आईपीएल) का टाइटिल प्रायोजन अधिकार हासिल किया। ड्रीम11 पहले से ही पिछले कुछ वर्षों से आईपीएल के प्रायोजन से जुड़ा है। आईपीएल अध्यक्ष बृजेश पटेल ने बताया, ‘‘ड्रीम11 ने 222 करोड़ रुपये की बोली के साथ अधिकार हासिल किए है।

• जबकि दो शिक्षा प्रौद्योगिकी कंपनियां बायजूस (201 करोड) और अनएकेडमी (170 करोड़) क्रमशः दूसरे और तीसरे स्थान पर रहें। भारत और चीन के बीच सीमा पर गतिरोध के कारण वीवो और बीसीसीआई ने इस सत्र के लिए प्रति वर्ष 440 करोड़ रुपये के करार को निलंबित कर दिया था।

नियुक्ति और इस्तीफे

अशोक लवासा ने भारत के चुनाव आयुक्त पद से दिया इस्तीफा

• भारत के चुनाव आयुक्त अशोक लवासा ने अपने पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। उन्होंने राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद को अपना इस्तीफा सौंप दिया है। लवासा ने इस्तीफा सितंबर 2020 से फिलीपींस स्थित एशियाई विकास बैंक में उपाध्यक्ष के रूप में शामिल होने के लिए दिया है। वह निजी क्षेत्र के संचालन और सार्वजनिक-निजी भागीदारी के प्रभारी दिवाकर गुप्ता का स्थान लेंगे।

• अशोक लवासा हरियाणा कैडर (बैच 1980) के एक सेवानिवृत्त भारतीय प्रशासनिक सेवा (IAS) अधिकारी हैं, जिन्होंने 23 जनवरी, 2018 को भारत के चुनाव आयुक्त के रूप में पदभार ग्रहण किया था। उन्हें सुशासन और नीति सुधार की पहल में अपने योगदान के लिए जाना जाता हैं। उन्हें वर्ष 2019 में ऑस्ट्रेलिया के साउथर्न क्रॉस विश्वविद्यालय ने International Alumnus Impact Award से सम्मानित किया था।

सत्य पाल मलिक को नियुक्त किया गया मेघालय का नया राज्यपाल

• राष्ट्रपति राम नाथ कोविंद द्वारा 18 अगस्त 2020 को सत्य पाल मलिक को मेघालय का नया राज्यपाल नियुक्त किया गया है। इससे पहले, वह गोवा के राज्यपाल के रूप में कार्य कर रहे थे।

• सत्य पाल मलिक, तथागत रॉय का स्थान लेंगे जिन्होंने राज्यपाल के रूप में अपना 5 साल का कार्यकाल पूरा कर लिया है, जिसमे उन्होंने 3 साल तक त्रिपुरा और शेष 2 साल मेघालय के राज्यपाल के रूप में कार्य किया था। इसके अलावा, महाराष्ट्र के राज्यपाल भगत सिंह कोश्यारी को अपने कर्तव्यों के अलावा, गोवा के राज्यपाल का अतिरिक्त प्रभार सौंपा गया है।

सेबी ने जीपी गर्ग को बनाया अपना नया कार्यकारी निदेशक

• भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड (सेबी) ने जीपी गर्ग को अपना कार्यकारी निदेशक (ईडी) नियुक्त किया है। इससे पहले, वह सेबी में मुख्य महाप्रबंधक थे और उन्होंने जनवरी 1994 में शामिल होने के बाद से कई पदों पर कम कर चुके हैं। वह देश में वित्तीय साक्षरता और निवेशक शिक्षा पर सेबी की पहल के साथ जुड़े रहे हैं।

Atal ARIIA 2020: लिस्ट घोषित, IIT मद्रास बना सर्वश्रेष्ठ इंस्टीट्यूट

• भारत के उपराष्ट्रपति एम वेंकैया नायडू ने शिक्षण संस्थानों के लिए अटल रैंकिंग ऑफ इंस्टीट्यूशन ऑन इनोवेशन अचीवमेंट ( ARIIA 2020) लिस्ट की घोषणा कर दी है। ARIIA रैंकिंग 2020 के तहत, पिछले साल की तरह ही इंडियन इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नोलॉजी (IIT-Madras) को संस्थान को सर्वश्रेष्ठ स्थान दिया गया है।

• NIRF रैंकिंग में IIT-Madras को सर्वश्रेष्ठ संस्थान का स्थान दिया गया था। कुल 10 संस्थानों के लिए रैंक की घोषणा की गई. IIT-मद्रास के बाद IIT-बॉम्बे और IIT दिल्ली का स्थान रहा। रैंक 4 और 5 में क्रमशः IISc और IIT-खड़गपुर रहे हैं।

• महामारी के कारण सोशल डिटेस्टिंग का ध्यान रखते हुए घोषणा एक वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस के माध्यम से की गई। जिसमें उप-राष्ट्रपति के अलावा, शिक्षा मंत्री रमेश पोखरियाल निशंक, राज्य मंत्री संजय शामराव धोत्रे और उच्च शिक्षा सचिव अमित खरे ने हिस्सा लिया था।

विश्व मानवतावादी दिवस

• प्रत्‍येक वर्ष 19 अगस्त को विश्व मानवतावादी दिवस के रूप में मनाते हैं । यह दिन उन लोगों की याद में मनाया जाता है, जो रियल लाइफ हीरो (#reallifeheroes) होते हैं, यानी ऐसे लोग जो कठिन से कठिन परिस्थितियों में भी लोगों की मदद करने में अपना जीवन व्यतीत करते हैं। विश्व स्तर पर मानवता या मानवीय उद्देश्यों के कारण दूसरों की मदद के लिए अपनी जान भी गंवा देने को तैयार रहते हैं।

• इस वर्ष हम 11वां विश्व मानवतावादी दिवस (World Humanitarian Day 2020) मना रहे हैं और ऐसे समय में जब विश्‍व महामारी से लड़ रहा है, हमारे मानवतावादी (Humanitarians) अभी भी इन कठिन समय के दौरान जरूरतमंद लोगों की मदद कर रहे हैं। 63 देशों में संकट में फंसे लोगों की मदद के लिए अभूतपूर्व बाधाएं पार करके मानवीय कार्यकर्ता आगे आ रहे हैं और साथ दे रहे हैं।

• 19 अगस्त, 2020 को, #RealLifeHeroes के साथ एक global campaign होने जा रहा है, जिसमें इन Real Life Heroes ने अपनी जान की परवाह किये बिना जोखिम उठाये और कठिन परिस्थितियों के दौरान औरों की मदद की, उनके लिए THANK YOU के साथ इस मानवीयता का जश्न मनाया जा रहा है।

Ministry of Tribal Affairs launches Tribal Health & Nutrition Portal – ‘Swasthya’

Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched the e-portal on tribal health and nutrition named ‘Swasthya’. It is a first of its kind e-portal, providing all health and nutrition-related information of the tribal population of India in a single platform.
Apart from this, an e-newsletter on health and nutrition ALEKH was also announced. It is a quarterly newsletter.
Opening of National Overseas Portal and National Tribal Fellowship Portal (for inviting online applications for the academic year 2020-21) was another important announcement that was made.

Ministry of AYUSH launches campaign “Ayush for Immunity”

The Ministry of AYUSH launched a campaign on “Ayush for Immunity”. It is a three-month campaign and aims to promote Ayush solutions in the entire world for a healthier and happier life.
The theme of the event is: accessible and affordable health for all, through Ayush solutions
The campaign was rolled out during a webinar that featured the participation of More than 50 thousand people. The webinar was streamed by the Ministry of AYUSH on its new digital communication platform Ayush Virtual Convention Centre (AVCC).

MCX to launch India’s first bullion index named “Bulldex”

Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), India’s largest commodity derivatives exchange, will launch India’s first bullion index named “Bulldex”, on August 24, 2020. Bullions, viz. gold and silver are already being traded as individual commodities on the country’s premier commodity exchange.
With gold and silver as underlying, Bulldex will have a market lot size of 50 and be a cash-settled futures contract. MCX had tested bullion index futures trade in mock trading exercises in July.

HDFC Bank launches Shaurya KGC Card

The largest private sector bank in the country, HDFC Bank, launched ‘Shaurya KGC (Kisan Gold Credit) Card, a loan product for the armed forces.
This is the first-of-its-kind scheme meant for the army personnel in the country and is based on the Kisan Credit Card guidelines of the government. This credit card comes with a life cover of Rs 10 lakhs.

Renowned classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj passes away

Indian classical vocalist, Pandit Jasraj passed away. He was born in Haryana in 1930, his musical career spanned eight decades. His performances of classical and semi-classical vocals have become albums and film soundtracks.
Jasraj has taught music in India, Canada, and the US. Pandit Jasraj was an Indian classical vocalist, belonging to the Mewati Gharana. His musical career spanned for more than eight decades. Many of his performances of classical and semi-classical vocals have now become albums and film soundtracks.
Pandit Jasraj was a recipient of India’s fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri in 1975; Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1987 and Padma Bhushan in 1999. In the year 2000, the government of India conferred him with Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian honor in the country.
In 2019, the International Astronomical Union had named a minor planet after Pandit Jasraj. The minor planet is located between Mars and Jupiter.

Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat passes away

Director-actor Nishikant Kamat passed away. He made his directorial debut in 2005 with Marathi movie Dombivali Fast, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi.
Nishikant had directed some popular Bollywood movies like Force, Drishyam, and Madaari. He made his silver screen debut in 2004 with the Hindi movie Hava Aney Dey. In 2008, Kamat helmed his first Bollywood film Mumbai Meri Jaan.
As an actor, he was known for his performances in Daddy, Rocky Handsome, Julie 2, and Bhavesh Joshi.

Rakesh Asthana becomes new DG of BSF

The government of India has appointed Rakesh Asthana as the new director-general of the Border Security Force (BSF). Currently, DG Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) chief S S Deswal was holding the additional charge of BSF since March this year.
Asthana is currently heading the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) with an additional charge of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

The central bank of India appoints Ashwini Kumar Shukla as Chief Risk Officer

The central bank of India has appointed Mr. Ashwini Kumar Shukla as Chief Risk Officer.
As part of the reform agenda announced by the Ministry of Finance last year in August 2019, the Central bank of India is the first one to appoint a CRO from the market.

आदिवासी मंत्रालय द्वारा शुरू किया गया स्वास्थ्य पोर्टल और आलेख ई-न्यूज़लेटर

जनजातीय मामलों के मंत्रालय ने “स्वास्थ्य” नामक जनजातीय स्वास्थ्य और पोषण पोर्टल लॉन्च किया। इसके अलावा, मंत्रालय ने स्वास्थ्य और पोषण पर “आलेख” ई-न्यूज़लेटर शुरू किया।

यह पोर्टल अपनी तरह का पहला है। यह भारत में जनजातीय आबादी के स्वास्थ्य और पोषण से संबंधित जानकारी प्रदान करता है। यह देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों से एकत्र किए गए अनुसंधान अध्ययनों, नवीन प्रथाओं, केस अध्ययनों और सर्वोत्तम प्रथाओं के बारे में जानकारी के एक एकीकृत स्रोत के रूप में भी कार्य करेगा।

भारत सरकार ने देश में आदिवासियों के जीवन को बेहतर बनाने के लिए अन्य पहल शुरू की है। GOAL को फेसबुक के साथ साझेदारी में लॉन्च किया गया था

GOAL का पूर्ण स्वरुप ‘Going Online as Leaders’ है। इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य देश के 5000 आदिवासी युवाओं को मेंटरिंग देना और उन्हें अपने समुदायों में युवा नेता बनने में सक्षम बनाना है।

जनजातीय मामलों के मंत्रालय द्वारा फेसबुक और नीति आयोग के साथ इस पहल को कार्यान्वित किया जा रहा है। इसे अक्टूबर 2019 में लॉन्च किया गया था।

इस परियोजना का लक्ष्य लैंगिक अंतर को भी समाप्त करना है। और इसलिए यह अधिक महिलाओं को भर्ती करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। यह आदिवासी महिलाओं में नेतृत्व के गुण लाने में भी काम करेगा।

आयुष मंत्रालय ने शुरू किया “Ayush For Immunity” अभियान

आयुष मंत्रालयद्वारा “Ayush for Immunity” नामक एक अभियान शुरू किया गया है। इस अभियान को एक वेबिनार के दौरान शुरू किया गया था जिसमें 50 हजार से अधिक लोगों ने हिस्सा लिया था। आयुष मंत्रालय द्वारा वेबिनार कोअपने नए डिजिटल संचार प्लेटफार्मआयुष वर्चुअल कन्वेंशन सेंटर (AVCC) पर स्ट्रीम किया गया था।

“आयुष फॉर इम्युनिटी” अभियान के माध्यम से, आयुष मंत्रालय का उद्देश्य लोगों की प्रतिरक्षा क्षमता बढ़ाने और रोगों को रोकने के लिए विभिन्न आयुष-आधारित समाधानों की शक्ति से जुड़ी महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी के बारे में लोगों को जागरूक करना है।

MCX लॉन्च करेगा भारत का पहला बुलियन इंडेक्स "Bulldex"

मल्टी कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज ऑफ़ इंडिया (MCX) 24 अगस्त, 2020 को भारत का पहला बुलियन इंडेक्स "Bulldex" लॉन्च करेगा। बुलियन, यानि देश के प्रमुख कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज में सोने और चांदी का पहले से ही व्यक्तिगत वस्तुओं के रूप में कारोबार किया जा रहा है। सोने और चांदी अंडरलाइन के साथ, बुलडेक्स का बाजार आकार 50 का होगा और जो नकदी-निगमित वायदा अनुबंध होगा। एमसीएक्स ने जुलाई में मॉक ट्रेडिंग प्रयासों में बुलियन इंडेक्स फ्यूचर्स ट्रेड का टेस्ट किया था।

मल्टी कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज ऑफ़ इंडिया लिमिटेड भारत में स्थित एक स्वतंत्र कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज है। इसकी स्थापना 2003 में हुई थी और यह मुंबई में स्थित है। यह भारत का सबसे बड़ा कमोडिटी डेरिवेटिव्स एक्सचेंज है।

HDFC बैंक ने लॉन्च किया शौर्य KGC कार्ड

देश के सबसे बड़े निजी क्षेत्र के बैंक, एचडीएफसी बैंक ने सशस्त्र बलों के लिए ऋण उत्पाद शौर्य KGC (किसान गोल्ड क्रेडिट) कार्ड लॉन्च किया।

यह देश में सेना के कर्मियों के लिए बनाई गई अपनी तरह की पहली योजना है और यह सरकार के किसान क्रेडिट कार्ड दिशानिर्देशों पर आधारित है। यह क्रेडिट कार्ड 10 लाख रुपये के जीवन कवर के साथ आता है।

जाने माने शास्त्रीय गायक पंडित जसराज का 90 वर्ष की उम्र में न‍िधन

भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत गायकपंडित जसराजका निधन। उनका जन्म 1930 में हरियाणामें हुआ था, उनके संगीत करियर की शुरुआत लगभग आठ दशकों पहले हुई थी। उन्होंने अपने करियर के दौरान कईराष्ट्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीयपुरस्कार प्राप्त किए।

पंडित जसराज को साल 1975 में भारत के चौथे सबसे बड़े नागरिक पुरस्कारपद्म श्रीके साथ -साथ 1987 में संगीत नाटक अकादमीपुरस्कार और 1999 में पद्म भूषणसे सम्मानित किया गया था। वर्ष 2000 में, भारत सरकार ने उन्हें देश के दूसरे सबसे बड़े नागरिक सम्मानपद्म विभूषणसे सम्मानित किया था।

अश्विनी शुक्ला सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया के मुख्य जोखिम अधिकारी नियुक्त

सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया ने अश्विनी कुमार शुक्ला को अपना मुख्य जोखिम अधिकारी नियुक्त किया है। उनका कार्यकाल तीन अगस्त से प्रभावी है। बैंक ने एक विज्ञप्ति में सोमवार को यह जानकारी दी।

शुक्ला इससे पहले भारतीय स्टेट बैंक में जोखिम प्रबंधन विभाग के महाप्रबंधक रह चुके हैं। पिछले साल वित्त मंत्रालय ने अपने सुधार कार्यक्रमों के तहत सरकारी बैंकों को बाजार से मुख्य जोखिम अधिकारी नियुक्त करने की अनुमति दे दी थी। इस तरह की नियुक्ति करने वाला सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया पहला सरकारी बैंक है।

PM Modi Announces One Sun, One World, One Grid (OSOWOG) initiative

PM Modi in his speech of Independence Day 2020, announced the “One Sun, One World, One Grid” (OSOWOG) plan. Under this, there will be a trans-national electricity grid, for supplying solar power across the globe.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi first announced this idea of OSOWOG in 2018 during the first assembly of the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
As per the draft plan prepared by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), the OSOWOG will connect 140 countries through a common grid that will be used to transfer solar power.

European Union’s 1-Million-Euro ‘Nirmanshree’ Project To Skill Women In Housing Sector

European Union has launched project ’Nirman shree’ for enhancing the women skill towards housing construction sector. This is the first-of-its-kind sustainable housing on a large scale in India with 1-million-euro.The project will be implemented in Beed and Osmanabad districts of Maharashtra and the Dhenkanal and Jajpur districts of Odisha.
A non-profit organisation, Habitat for Humanity India has also join hands with EU for funding this project.
The total cost of the project is EUR 9,49,694 (INR 7,40,85,628 or US$1,075,307).90 percent of fund provides by EU and remaining 10 percent will be issued by Habitat for Humanity India.
3,000 women will be trained for technical and entrepreneurial skills in housing sector which focus on area such as masonry, plumbing and electrical fitting, among others.

Chandrayaan-2 captures crater on Moon, ISRO names it after Vikram Sarabhai

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Friday announced that Chandryaan-2 has captured images of the Moon, and named one of the craters after Vikram Sarabhai. Sarabhai is the father of the Indian space programme.
Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh said that it is a fitting tribute to his legacy, who completed his birth centenary year on August 12. Singh also lauded the the achievements of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) which has put India in a leading position for space research.
The Sarabhai Crater is around 250 to 300 kilometres east of the crater where the Apollo 17 and Luna 21 Missions had landed.

ISRO and IISc Researchers develops sustainable process for making ‘Space Bricks’ on Moon

Team of researchers of Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, Karnataka and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) developed a sustainable process for making brick-like structures named “Space Bricks” on the surface of the moon. The process uses the lunar soil, bacteria and guar beans to make the space brick.
The process uses the Urea – sourced from human urine and lunar soil as the raw materials for the construction on the lunar surface which reduces the overall expenditure.

Former Indian cricketer and Uttar Pradesh Minister Chetan Chauhan

Former Indian cricketer and Uttar Pradesh minister ChetanChauhan has passed away due to multiple organ failure. He was 73.
Chauhan played 40 Tests matches for India, during his 12-year-long cricket career, scoring 2084 runs with 16 half-centuries and two wickets.
He was Minister for youth and sports in the state of Uttar Pradesh Cabinet in 2018 and has also served as Minister of Sainik Welfare, Home Guards, PRD and Civil Security in the UP Cabinet.

पीएम मोदी ने स्वतंत्रता दिवस 2020 के अपने भाषण में, "वन सन, वन वर्ल्ड, वन ग्रिड" (OSOWOG) योजना की घोषणा की। इसके तहत दुनिया भर में सौर ऊर्जा की आपूर्ति के लिए एक ट्रांस-नेशनल इलेक्ट्रिसिटी ग्रिड होगा।
प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय सौर गठबंधन (आईएसए) की पहली विधानसभा के दौरान 2018 में OSOWOG के इस विचार की घोषणा की।

यूरोपीय संघ ने आवास निर्माण क्षेत्र की महिलाओं के कौशल को बढ़ाने के लिए परियोजना 'निर्मन श्री' शुरू की है। यह भारत में 1 मिलियन-यूरो के साथ बड़े पैमाने पर अपनी तरह का पहला स्थायी आवास योजना है। यह परियोजना महाराष्ट्र के बीड और उस्मानाबाद जिलों और ओडिशा के ढेंकनाल और जाजपुर जिलों में लागू की जाएगी।
एक गैर-लाभकारी संगठन, हैबिटेट फॉर ह्यूमैनिटी इंडिया ने भी इस परियोजना के वित्तपोषण के लिए यूरोपीय संघ के साथ हाथ मिलाया है।

भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) ने शुक्रवार को घोषणा की कि चंद्रयान -2 ने चंद्रमा की छवियों को कैप्चर किया है, और विक्रम साराभाई के बाद क्रेटरों में से एक का नाम इसे दिया गया है। साराभाई भारतीय अंतरिक्ष कार्यक्रम के जनक हैं।

GoI launches National Digital Health Mission

While addressing the nation on 15 August 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of a new campaign called National Digital Health Mission, under which all Indians will be given health IDs.
This Health ID will work as each Indian’s health account. Every test, disease and diagnosis, medicines prescribed by doctors and medical reports along with medicines will be stored in every citizen’s health ID.
The National Digital Health Mission (NDHM), has been launched under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY).
It is expected to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency of health services in the country.

All villages to be connected with optical fibre in next 1,000 days: PM Modi

PM Modi in his speech of Independence Day 2020, made the announcement that the project to connect all the villages of India with optical fibre network will be completed in the next 1,000 days.
Under this project, more than six lakh villages will be connected with optical fibre network in the coming 1,000 days in India.
Apart from this, a high-speed internet connectivity via submarine optical fibre cable will be extended to Lakshadweep in the next 1,000 days to provide high-speed internet services in the region.

On August 14, 2020 National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog)’s Atal Innovation Mission(AIM) in collaboration with National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM) has launched Artificial Intelligence(AI) based Step-up module for school students.

Barclays Slashes India’s GDP growth to -6% in FY21

Barclays has predicted India’s GDP to contract by 6% in 2020-21 (FY21). Earlier it had estimated a contraction of 3.2%.
The reason for this downward revision of GDP is India’s rising C-19 infection curve.
For FY22, Barclays has predicted India’s GDP at 7% as compared to 7.4% earlier.

LIC starts ‘Special Revival Campaign’ to revive lapsed policies

Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has announced a special scheme to revive lapsed policies named ‘Special Revival Campaign’.
Those policies that have lapsed during the premium- paying term and not completed policy term as on the date of revival, are eligible to be revived during the campaign.
The campaign is launched to benefit those policyholders who were not able to pay the premium due to unavoidable circumstances and their policy lapsed.
The policies of specific eligible plans can be revived within five years from the date of the first unpaid premium subject to certain terms and conditions.

Former Indian skipper, MS Dhoni announcement his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020. The 39-year-old World Cup-winning captain made the announcement through his social media account.

Suresh Raina retires from International Cricket

Suresh Raina, a renowned Indian Cricket player has announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020.
His announcement came right after MS Dhoni's announcement of retirement from international cricket. Suresh Raina informed about his decision through his Instagram account, which shocked millions of his fans all around the country.
He also especially acknowledged playing with MS Dhoni and mentioned that with pride he has decided to join in the journey of retirement with the former captain of the Indian Cricket team.

राष्ट्रीय डिजिटल स्वास्थ्य मिशन लांच किया गया

15 अगस्त 2020 को, पीएम मोदी ने 74वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह में अपने संबोधन के दौरान राष्ट्रीय डिजिटल स्वास्थ्य मिशन को लांच किया।

इस मिशन के तहत, प्रत्येक भारतीय को हेल्थ आईडी कार्ड प्रदान किया जाएगा। आईडी कार्ड में व्यक्ति की पिछली चिकित्सा स्थिति, उपचार और निदान के बारे में सभी प्रासंगिक जानकारी होगी। मिशन पूरी तरह से तकनीक आधारित है।

इस मिशन का उद्देश्य भारत में स्वास्थ्य देखभाल की दक्षता, प्रभावशीलता और पारदर्शिता में सुधार करना है। इसे प्रधानमंत्री जन आरोग्य योजना या आयुष्मान भारत के तहत संचालित किया जाएगा।

कार्ड रखने वाले नागरिक अस्पतालों में अपनी यात्रा के दौरान डॉक्टरों और स्वास्थ्य देखभाल प्रदाताओं के लिए एक बार का उपयोग करने की अनुमति देंगे।

गोपनीय चिकित्सा डेटा तक पहुंचने की अनुमति रोगी द्वारा स्वयं प्रत्येक यात्रा के लिए प्रदान की जाएगी। इसके द्वारा रोगी की गोपनीयता को बनाए रखा जाता है। डिजिटल रिकॉर्ड तक पहुंच का नियंत्रण पूरी तरह से रोगी के हाथ में है। डॉक्टर हर बार केवल मरीजों की इच्छा पर मेडिकल रिकॉर्ड तक पहुंच सकते हैं।

मिशन रोगियों को दूरस्थ रूप से स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं का उपयोग करने की अनुमति देता है। इसमें टेली-परामर्श और ई-फ़ार्मेसी भी शामिल हैं।

सभी गांव 1,000 दिन में आप्टिकल फाइबर नेटवर्क से जुड़ जाएंगे, नई साइबर सुरक्षा नीति जल्द: मोदी

प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने शनिवार को कहा कि गांवों में तीव्र गति वाले इंटरनेट सुविधा के लिये देश के सभी छह लाख गांवों को आप्टिकल फाइबर नेटवर्क से जोड़ने का काम अगले 1,000 दिनों में पूरा कर लिया जाएगा। साइबर सुरक्षा की चिंता के बीच उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि सरकार जल्द ही नई साइबर सुरक्षा नीति लायेगी।

प्रधानमंत्री ने 74वें स्वतंत्रता दिवस के मौके पर ऐतिहासिक लालकिले की प्राचीर से राष्ट्र को संबोधित करते हुए कहा, ‘‘साल 2014 से पहले देश की सिर्फ 5 दर्जन पंचायतें ऑप्टिल फाइबर से जुड़ी थीं। पिछले पांच वर्ष में डेढ़ लाख ग्राम पंचायतों को तीव्र इंटरनेट सुविधा उपलब्ध कराने वाली आप्टिकल फाइबर सुविधा से जोड़ा गया है।’’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘आने वाले 1,000 दिनों में देश के हर गांव को ऑप्टिकल फाइबर से जोड़ने का काम पूरा कर लिया जाएगा।’’ प्रधानमंत्री ने यह भी कहा कि अगले तीन साल के भीतर लक्षद्वीप को भी तेज गति इंटरनेट की सुविधा उपलब्ध कराने के लिये आप्टिकल फाइबर केबल से जोड़ दिया जायेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले सप्ताह अंडमान निकोबार द्वीप समूह को आप्टिकल फाइबर केबल से जोड़ा गया है।

‘‘अब अंडमान निकोबार को भी चेन्नई और दिल्ली जैसी इंटरनेट की सुविधा उपलब्ध करा दी गई है।’’ मोदी ने कहा, ‘‘अगले 1,000 दिन में लक्षद्वीप को भी तेज इंटरनेट की सुविधा से जोड़ने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।’

’ प्रधानमंत्री ने हाल ही में अंडमान निकोबार द्वीपसमूह के लिये सबमैरीन आप्टिकल फाइबर केबल परियोजना का उद्घाटन किया। कुल 2,312 किलोमीटर लंबी चेन्नई-अंडमान-निकोबार द्वीपसमूह के बीच समुद्र के अंदर बिछायी गयी आप्टिकल फाइबर केबल परियोजना से केंद्र शासित प्रदेश में ब्रॉडबैंड कनेक्शन की गति देश के अन्य भागों की तरह हो गयी है।

NITI Aayog ने स्कूल के छात्रों के लिए AI मॉड्यूल लॉन्च किया

स्कूली छात्रों को आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (एआई) और आधुनिक जीवन में इसके व्यावहारिक अनुप्रयोगों से परिचित करने के प्रयास में, NITI Aayog के अटल इनोवेशन मिशन (AIM), NASSCOM के सहयोग से, देश भर के स्कूली छात्रों के लिए आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस स्टेप-अप मॉड्यूल शुरू किया है।

नवीनतम मॉड्यूल एआई बेस मॉड्यूल का पालन करते हैं जो एनआईटीआईयोग द्वारा इस साल फरवरी में लॉन्च किए गए थे। एनआईटीआईयोग द्वारा जारी एक प्रेस नोट के अनुसार, लर्न इट्स योर सेल्फ एडवांस्ड मॉड्यूल्स की मदद से छात्र अपने ज्ञानकोष एआई और उसके अनुप्रयोगों का विस्तार कर पाएंगे।

जो मॉड्यूल छात्रों को आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस की गहरी समझ प्रदान करने के लिए डिज़ाइन किए गए हैं, वे ग्राफिक-आधारित हैं जो विभिन्न ग्रामीण और शहरी पृष्ठभूमि के छात्रों को मॉड्यूल को प्रभावी ढंग से समझने में मदद करेंगे। यहां तक कि जो छात्र फरवरी में जारी किए गए बुनियादी मॉड्यूल को पूरा नहीं कर पाए, वे स्टेप-अप मॉड्यूल को भी समझ पाएंगे क्योंकि बुनियादी परिभाषाओं और अवधारणाओं को भी मॉड्यूल में विस्तृत रूप से समझाया गया है।

यह योगदान यूपीआई सेवा को डाउनलोड एवं एक्टिव करने पर भी दिया जाएगा

बार्कलेज ने भारत की जीडीपी वृद्धि को वित्त वर्ष 21 में -6% तक घटाया

बार्कलेज ने 2020-21 (FY21) में भारत के सकल घरेलू उत्पाद का 6% तक अनुबंध करने की भविष्यवाणी की है। पहले इसने 3.2% के संकुचन का अनुमान लगाया था।
जीडीपी के इस नीचे संशोधन का कारण भारत का बढ़ता C-19 संक्रमण वक्र है।
वित्त वर्ष 2022 के लिए, बार्कलेज ने पहले 7.4% की तुलना में भारत की जीडीपी 7% की भविष्यवाणी की है।

LIC ने लैप्स पॉलिसीस को दोबारा चालू करने के लिए शुरू की विशेष योजना

भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम (LIC) ने लैप्स (रुकी हुई) पॉलियों को फिर से चालू करने के लिए ‘Special Revival Campaign’ नामकएक विशेष योजना शुरू करने की घोषणा की है। यह अभियान 10 अगस्त से 9 अक्टूबरतक चलाया जाएगा, जिसके दौरान ग्राहक अपनी लैप्स पॉलिसीको दोबारा चालू कर सकते हैं।

विशिष्ट पात्र योजनाओं की पॉलिसीस को कुछ नियमों और शर्तों के तहत पहले अनपेड प्रीमियम की तारीख से पांच साल के भीतर पुनः चालू किया जा सकता है.

हालाँकि यह चिकित्सा आवश्यकताओं में कोई रियायत नहीं दी जा रही है, लेकिन अन्य उच्च जोखिम वाली योजनाओं के अलावा विलंब शुल्क में कुछ रियायतों की अनुमति दी जा सकती है।

जिन पॉलिसीसने प्रीमियम-भुगतान अवधि के दौरान चूक की है और पुनरीक्षण की तारीख के अनुसार पॉलिसी अवधि पूरी नहीं की है, वे अभियान के दौरान पुनर्जीवित होने के पात्र हैं।

यह अभियान उन पॉलिसीधारकों को लाभान्वित करने के लिए शुरू किया गया है जो अपरिहार्य परिस्थितियों के कारण प्रीमियम का भुगतान करने में सक्षम नहीं थे और उनकी पॉलिसी लैप्स हो गई थी। कवर को बहाल करने के लिए हमेशा पुरानी पालिसी को पुनः शुरू करना बेहतर समझा जाता है।

एमएस धोनी द्वारा अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट से संन्यास की घोषणा के ठीक बाद उनकी घोषणा हुई। सुरेश रैना ने अपने इंस्टाग्राम अकाउंट के जरिए अपने फैसले की जानकारी दी, जिसने देश भर में उनके लाखों प्रशंसकों को चौंका दिया।
उन्होंने विशेष रूप से एमएस धोनी के साथ खेलना स्वीकार किया और उल्लेख किया कि गर्व के साथ उन्होंने भारतीय क्रिकेट टीम के पूर्व कप्तान के साथ सन्‍यास की यात्रा में शामिल होने का फैसला किया है।

• One out of the total two Boeing-777 ER aircraft is ready for delivery in August to India. The Air India One has been specially designed for the Prime Minister, President and Vice President of India.

• Air India One is equipped with an advance and secure communication system which allows availing audio and video communication function at mid-air without hacked or taped. Air India will receive the aircraft and later hand it over to the Indian Air Force (IAF).

• SEP 2.0 will allow student innovators to work closely with Dell volunteers. The students will receive mentor support, end-user feedback, prototyping and testing support, intellectual property registration and patenting of ideas, processes, and products, manufacturing support, and the launch support of the product in the market.

• The main objective of the programme aims to create over a million neoteric innovators and potential job creators of the country.

• The Reserve Bank of India has approved Rs 57,128 crore as surplus to the Central Government for the accounting year 2019-20.

• The decision was taken at the 584th meeting of the Central Board of RBI under the chairmanship of Shri Shakti kanta Das, Governor RBI.RBI has decided to maintain the Contingency Risk Buffer at 5.5%.

India’s first upper-stage rocket engine test-fired by Skyroot Aerospace

• Aerospace startup venture Skyroot Aerospace has successfully test-fired an upper-stage rocket engine, thus becoming the first private company in India to demonstrate the capability to build a homegrown rocket engine.

• The engine is 3-D printed and named as Raman, after the Nobel Laureate CV Raman.

• It has fewer moving parts and weighs less than half of conventional rocket engines with similar capacity.

• मुख्य समारोह राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के लाल किले में आयोजित किया गया था जहाँ प्रधानमंत्री ने राष्ट्रीय ध्वज फहराया था। विभिन्न सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम दिल्ली में स्कूलों और संगठनों से जुड़े हैं। लेकिन इस साल C-19 के कारण समारोह अलग-अलग होंगे। सभी राज्यों और सरकारी कार्यालयों को अपनी घटनाओं के वेबकास्ट करने का आदेश दिया गया है।

• भारत को जल्द ही एयर इंडिया वन (Air India One) बोइंग 777-300ERs मिलने जा रहे हैं। अत्याधुनिक तकनीकों से लैस यह विमान प्रधानमंत्री, राष्ट्रपति और उपराष्ट्रपति सहित VVIP उड़ानों के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जाएगा।

• इस विमान का डिफेंस अभेद्य होगा, साथ ही इसमें सभी तरह की अत्याधुनिक सुविधाएं भी होंगी। इसके केबिन को पूरी तरह से बदला गया है, जिसमें लार्ज एयरक्राफ्ट इन्फ्रारेड काउंटरमेशर्स (LAIRCM) और सेल्फ-प्रोटेक्शन सूट (एसपीएस) शामिल हैं। विमान में उन्नत इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वारफेयर सूट भी होगा, जो न केवल विमान की जमीन से हवा में होने वाले किसी भी तरह के हमले से रक्षा करेगा, बल्कि माकूल जवाबी कार्रवाई करने में सक्षम होगा

• 40 एयर इंडिया पायलटों की एक टीम को भारतीय वायुसेना के पायलटों के साथ-साथ इस अत्याधुनिक वीवीआईपी विमान को उड़ाने के लिए प्रशिक्षित किया जा रहा है। इससे पहले, भारत के वीवीआईपी 747 बोइंग जेट में उड़ान भरते रहे हैं, जिनका उपयोग आम जनता के साथ-साथ एयर इंडिया के बेड़े से संबंधित विमानों के लिए भी किया जाता था।

भारतीय रेलवे 15 अगस्त से 2 अक्टूबर 2020 तक चलने वाले ‘फिट इंडिया फ्रीडम रन’ के कार्यान्वयन में पूरा सहयोग करेगा

• भारतीय रेलवे ने भारत सरकार के युवा मामले और खेल मंत्रालय द्वारा शुरू की गई नई पहल ‘फिट इंडिया फ्रीडम रन’ का पूरी तरह से सहयोग करने का फैसला किया है। यह आयोजन 15 अगस्त से 2 अक्टूबर 2020 तक जारी रहेगा। इस पहल को फिट इंडियन मूवमेंट के तत्वाधान में किया जा रहा है।

• ‘फिट इंडिया रन’ की कल्पना सामाजिक दूरी (सोशल डिस्टेंसिंग) के नियम का पालन करते हुए खुद को फिट रखने की अपरिहार्य आवश्यकता को ध्यान में रखते हुए की गई है। इस रन में एक व्यक्ति अपने अनुकूल समय पर अपनी पसंद के किसी मार्ग पर दौड़ / चल सकता है। ऐसे रन / वॉक के दौरान कोई विश्राम (ब्रेक) भी ले सकता है। असल में, इसमें हर कोई अपनी दौड़ पूरा करता है और अपने हिसाब से अपनी दौड़ की गति तय करता है।

डेल टेक्नोलॉजीज के साथ एआईएम और नीति आयोग ने छात्र उद्यमिता 2.0 कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ किया

• अटल इनोवेशन मिशन (AIM), नीति आयोग ने डेल टेक्नोलॉजीज के साथ मिलकर अटल टिंकरिंग लैब्स (ATL) के युवा इनोवेटर्स के लिए स्टूडेंट एंटरप्रेन्योरशिप प्रोग्राम 2.0 (SEP 2.0) लॉन्च किया है। SEP 1.0 की सफलता के बाद इस प्रोग्राम को लॉन्च किया गया था।

• एसईपी 2.0 छात्र नवाचारियों को डेल स्वयंसेवकों के साथ मिलकर काम करने की अनुमति देगा। छात्रों को संरक्षक समर्थन, अंत उपयोगकर्ता प्रतिक्रिया, प्रोटोटाइप और परीक्षण समर्थन, बौद्धिक संपदा पंजीकरण और विचारों, प्रक्रियाओं, और उत्पादों, विनिर्माण समर्थन और बाजार में उत्पाद के लॉन्च समर्थन का पेटेंट प्राप्त होगा।

• कार्यक्रम का मुख्य उद्देश्य देश के एक लाख नव-नवप्रवर्तनकर्ताओं और संभावित नौकरी सृजनकर्ताओं को बनाना है।

RBI बोर्ड ने दी मंजूरी, सरकार को 57,128 करोड़ रुपये का लाभांश देगा केंद्रीय बैंक

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) के केंद्रीय बोर्ड ने केंद्र सरकार को 57,128 करोड़ रुपये के लाभांश भुगतान की मंजूरी दे दी है। यह कदम बजट उम्मीदों के अनुरूप है, लेकिन अर्थव्यवस्था में सुस्ती तथा महामारी की वजह से सरकार के राजस्व में होने वाले नुकसान की भरपाई इससे नहीं हो पाएगी।

• बोर्ड ने लेखा वर्ष 2019-20 के लिए सरकार को 57,128 करोड़ रुपये का अधिशेष हस्तांतरित करने पर अपनी सहमति दे दी है। पिछले साल केंद्रीय बैंक ने सरकार को 1.76 लाख करोड़ रुपये हस्तांतरित किए थे। इनमें से 1.23 लाख करोड़ रुपये लाभांश के रूप में तथा 52,637 करोड़ रुपये केंद्रीय बैंक की संशोधित आर्थिक पूंजी की व्यवस्ता (ईसीएफ) के प्रावधानों के तहत अधिशेष पूंजी के रूप दिए गए थे। बोर्ड ने आपात जोखिम के लिए पूंजी बफर का अनुपात 5.5 फीसदी पर कायम रखने का फैसला किया हें।

स्काईरूट एयरोस्पेस ने अपर स्टेज रॉकेट इंजन "रमन" का किया सफल परीक्षण

• एक स्पैसेटेक स्टार्टअप, Skyroot Aerospace ने एक अपर स्टेज के रॉकेट इंजन "रमन" का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया है। इसके साथ, स्काईरोट एयरोस्पेस एक होमग्रोन रॉकेट इंजन बनाने की क्षमता दिखाने वाली पहली भारतीय निजी फर्म बन गई है। "रमन" एक 3-डी प्रिंटेड रॉकेट इंजन है जिसका नाम नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता सीवी रमन के नाम पर रखा गया है।

• Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank virtually launched the Minimum Standards of Architectural Education Regulations, 2020 in New Delhi on August 11, 2020.

Historic peace agreement between UAE & Israel

• President of USA, Donald J. Trump, Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Nahyan have agreed to the full normalization of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates.

• Israeli and UAE delegations will meet in the coming weeks to sign bilateral agreements regarding investment, tourism, direct flights, security and the establishment of reciprocal embassies, they said.

Israel & United States successfully tests an advanced missile defense system Arrow 2

• Israel's Defense Ministry conducted a successful test of the nation’s advanced missile defense system against long-range ballistic attacks on August 12, 2020.

• Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz said that the successful flight test of the Arrow-2 interceptor was part of Israel's technological effort, which ensure that they will always be one step ahead of their enemies.

• The test was conducted overnight jointly with the US Missile Defense Agency in central Israel. The Arrow-interceptor is a part of the multi-layered system, which Israel has developed to defend against both short and mid-range missiles. It can also intercept long-range missiles.

• The advanced missile defense system including the Arrow-3 system, Irone Dome and David’s Sling is also capable of defending against threats from outside the atmosphere.

RBI announces ‘positive pay’ feature to help avert cheque frauds

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced to introduce a mechanism of ‘Positive Pay’ feature for all cheques of value Rs 50,000 and above. This feature helps to avert cheque frauds. The limit of Rs 50,000 will cover approximately 20 per cent of transactions by volume and 80 per cent by value.

• Positive pay is a fraud-prevention system offered by most commercial banks to companies to protect them against forged, altered and counterfeit checks.

• ट्रंप के प्रयासों के बाद इजरायल और यूएई ने एक ऐतिहासिक समझौते पर हस्‍ताक्षर किया है।

• डील के बाद इजरायल वेस्‍ट बैंक पर कब्‍जा करने की विवादास्‍पद योजना को बंद कर देगा।

• फलस्‍तीन के राष्‍ट्रपति महमूद अब्‍बास के प्रवक्‍ता ने कहा कि यह डील उनके साथ एक 'धोखा' है।

इज़राइल ने उन्नत मिसाइल रक्षा प्रणाली का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण किया

• 13 अगस्त 2020 को इज़राइल ने उन्नत मिसाइल रक्षा प्रणाली एरो-2 का सफल परीक्षण किया। मिसाइल का विकास लेबनान और गाजा से दागे जाने वाले मध्यम दूरी के रॉकेटों के खिलाफ किया गया है।

• 2019 में, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका और इजराइल ने संयुक्त रूप से अलास्का में सफलतापूर्वक एरो-3 का परीक्षण किया। इस प्रणाली को इज़राइल एयरोस्पेस इंडस्ट्रीज और अमेरिकी कंपनी बोइंग द्वारा विकसित किया गया था। यह 2017 में चालू हो गया था।

• दूसरी ओर, हाल ही में एरो-2 को सीरियाई मिसाइलों का मुकाबला करने के लिए तैनात किया गया था।

• एरो मिसाइलों को यूएसए के पूर्ण समर्थन के तहत विकसित किया गया था। इजरायल के अलावा किसी भी देश ने अमेरिका से पूरा एरो सिस्टम नहीं खरीदा है। भारत सरकार ने 1999 में इजरायल से एरो मिसाइल खरीदने की मांग की थी। हालांकि, संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने MTCR (मिसाइल टेक्नोलॉजी कंट्रोल रिजीम) का हवाला देते हुए अनुरोध को वीटो कर दिया था।

• यह एक बहुपक्षीय निर्यात नियंत्रण व्यवस्था है। भारत भी इसका एक हिस्सा है। इसका गठन 1987 में जी7 औद्योगिक देशों द्वारा किया गया था। यह सामूहिक विनाश के हथियारों के प्रसार के जोखिमों को सीमित करता है। यह मुख्य रूप से रॉकेट और मानवरहित हवाई वाहनों पर केंद्रित है।

धोखाधड़ी की जांच में मदद करने के लिए RBI ने ‘Positive Pay’ ’सुविधा की घोषणा की

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने 50,000 रुपये और उससे अधिक मूल्य के सभी चेक के लिए ’पॉजिटिव पे’ फीचर का एक तंत्र शुरू करने की घोषणा की है। यह सुविधा धोखाधड़ी को रोकने में मदद करती है। 50,000 रुपये की सीमा मात्रा के हिसाब से लगभग 20 प्रतिशत लेनदेन और 80 प्रतिशत मूल्य से कवर होगी।

• ‘Positive Pay’ अधिकांश वाणिज्यिक बैंकों द्वारा जाली, बदली हुई और नकली जाँच से बचाने के लिए कंपनियों द्वारा दी जाने वाली धोखाधड़ी-रोकथाम प्रणाली है।

• रिलायंस फाउंडेशन की चेयरपर्सन नीता अंबानी ने भारत में डिजिटल जेंडर डिवाइड के खात्में के लिए बड़ा कदम उठाया है। अंबानी ने 'यूनाइटेड स्टेट एजेंसी फॉर इंटरनेशनल डेवलपमेंट' यानी USAID के साथ हाथ मिलाया है। अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप की बेटी इवांका ट्रंप मुख्य अतिथी के तौर पर कार्यक्रम में मौजूद रहीं।

• अमेरीकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने 2019 में दुनियाभर में महिलाओं के आर्थिक सशक्तिकरण के लिए 'वूमेंस ग्लोबल डेवलपमेंट प्रोस्पेरिटी' यानी W-GDP इनिशिएटिव को लॉन्च किया था। इसको बनाने में इवांका ट्रंप ने महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका अदा की थी। W-GDP इनिशिएटिव का लक्ष्य 2025 तक विकासशील देशों की 50 लाख महिलाओं तक पहुंचने का है।

• W-GDP इनिशिएटिव के तहत रिलायंस फाउंडेशन और USAID साथ मिलकर काम करेंगे। इस महत्वपूर्ण साझेदारी की घोषणा W-GDP के तहत हुए एक विशेष कार्यक्रम में की गई। कार्यक्रम की मेजबानी अमेरिकी उप-मंत्री स्टीफन बेजगुन ने की, कार्यक्रम में यूएसएआईडी के उप-प्रशासक बोनी ग्लिक भी शामिल रहे।

• रिलायंस फाउंडेशन के साथ मिलकर W-GDP, भारतभर में वुमन कनेक्ट चैलेंज लॉन्च करेगा। यह चैलेंज भारत में लिंग भेद के खात्में के साथ-साथ भारतीय महिलाओं को व्यापार में जोड़ने और उनको बढ़ावा देने का काम करेगा।

• 13 अगस्त को प्रति वर्ष विश्व अंगदान दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है। इसका उद्देश्य अंगदान के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाना हैं। भारत में प्रतिवर्ष हजारों लोगों की मृत्यु ऑर्गन फेलियर के कारण होती, यदि समय पर इस तरह के रोगियों को स्वस्थ अंग का प्रत्यारोपण किया जाए, तो उनका जीवन बच सकता है।

• मानव अपने विभिन्न अंगों जैसे गुर्दा, फेफड़े, ह्रदय, नेत्र, यकृत, अग्नाशय, कॉर्निया, छोटी आंत, त्वचा उत्तक, हड्डी के उत्तक इत्यादि का दान कर सकता है। इनमे से कुछ अंगों का दान जीवित व्यक्ति भी कर सकता है, परन्तु अधिकतर अंगो का दान मृत व्यक्ति ही कर सकता है। इन अंगों की सहायता से किसी ज़रुरतमंद व्यक्ति के जीवन की रक्षा की जा सकती है। विश्वभर में 5 लाख से अधिक ऐसे व्यक्ति हैं जिन्हें विभिन्न अंगों की आवश्यकता है।

• भारत में अंगदान के लिए काफी संतुलित प्रोग्राम है, परन्तु मृत्यु के बाद भारत में अंगदान की दर बहुत कम है। मानव अंग व्यापार को रोकने तथा मृत्यु के बाद अंगदान को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भारत सरकार ने ‘मानव अंग प्रत्यारोपण अधिनियम, 1994’ पारित किया था। वर्ष 2011 में इस अधिनियम में संशोधन किया गया था।

Paytm launched India’s 1st pocket android POS device

• Paytm has launched India’s 1st Pocket Android POS (Point of Sale) Device named ‘Paytm All-in-One Portable Android Smart POS’ for contactless ordering and payments in India.

• This is the first such Android-based device to be introduced in India and is much more powerful than the portable Linux based POS devices presently available in the country.

• It is an effort to digitise and empower a large number of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The company aims to issue over 2 lakh devices within the next few months which will generate over 20 million transactions per month.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari Addresses ‘India@75 Summit: Mission 2022’ for upliftment of MSME

• The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari addressed the ‘India@75 Summit: Mission 2022’ on 8 August in New Delhi, via video-conferencing.

PM to launch platform for Transparent Taxation 'Honoring the Honest'

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to launch the platform for Transparent Taxation-Honoring the Honest through video conference on August 13, 2020.

• The Central Board of Direct Taxes, CBDT had carried out several major tax reforms in direct taxes in recent years.

• The Corporate Tax rates were reduced from 30 percent to 22 percent last year and for new manufacturing units, the rates were reduced to 15 percent. The board had also abolished the Dividend distribution Tax.

• The main aim behind the tax reforms is a reduction in tax rates and simplification of direct tax laws.

• Google ने भारत में अपना नया "पीपल कार्ड्स" फीचर लॉन्च किया है जो उपयोगकर्ताओं को अपने वर्चुअल विजिटिंग कार्ड बनाने और खोज इंजन के लिए अपना सार्वजनिक प्रोफ़ाइल बनाने की सुविधा देता है। Google पीपुल कार्ड सुविधा भारत में कुछ वर्षों के लिए परीक्षण के चरण में रही है और आखिरकार अब लॉन्च की गई है।

• पीपुल कार्ड्स Google की एक नई लिस्टिंग सुविधा है जो उपयोगकर्ताओं को अपने वर्चुअल विजिटिंग या बिजनेस कार्ड बनाने में मदद करती है और उनकी ऑनलाइन उपस्थिति को बढ़ाती है। पीपल कार्ड सुविधा उपयोगकर्ताओं द्वारा साझा की गई जानकारी प्रदर्शित करने के लिए Google के नॉलेज ग्राफ का उपयोग करती है।

• व्यक्तियों, उद्यमियों, कर्मचारियों, प्रभावितों, स्व-नियोजित लोगों, व्यवसायों, ऑनलाइन बाज़ार, फ्रीलांसरों और किसी को भी खोजा जा रहा है पर आसानी से खोजा जा सकता है।

पीएम मोदी ‘पारदर्शी कराधान - ईमानदार का सम्मान’ के लिए मंच का करेंगे शुभारंभ

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्‍द्र मोदी वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से ‘पारदर्शी कराधान - ईमानदार का सम्मान’ के लिए प्‍लेटफॉर्म लॉन्च करेंगे। यह नया प्रत्यक्ष कर सुधारों की यात्रा को और भी आगे ले जाएगा और ईमानदार करदाताओं को पुरस्कृत भी करेगा।

• केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड (CBDT) द्वारा प्रत्यक्ष करों में कई बड़े कर सुधार किए गए हैं। इन सुधारों में कॉरपोरेट टैक्स की दरों में 30% से 22% तक की कटौती, लाभांश वितरण कर को समाप्त करना और साथ ही नई विनिर्माण इकाइयों के लिए दरों में 15% तक की कमी शामिल है।

• सुधारों में प्रत्यक्ष कर ‘विवाद से विश्वास अधिनियम, 2020’ भी शामिल है, जिसके तहत वर्तमान में विवादों को निपटाने के लिए घोषणाएं दायर की जा रही हैं, और हाल ही में शुरू की गई ‘दस्तावेज पहचान संख्या (डिन)’ के जरिए आधिकारिक संचार में अधिक पारदर्शिता लाना भी इन पहलों में शामिल है।

• वर्ष 2020 में कुल 121 पुलिस कर्मियों को ‘जांच में उत्कृष्टता के लिए केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री के पदक’ से सम्मानित किया गया है। ‘जांच में उत्कृष्टता के लिए केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री के पदक’ का उद्देश्य अपराध की जांच के उच्च प्रोफेशनल मानकों को बढ़ावा देना और जांच अधिकारियों द्वारा जांच में इस तरह की उत्कृष्टता की पहचान करना है।

• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय लेफ्ट हैंडर्स डे प्रत्‍येक वर्ष 13 अगस्त को बाएं हाथ वालों की विशिष्टता और मतभेदों को मनाने के लिए मनाया जाता है और मुख्य रूप से दाएं हाथ की दुनिया में बाएं हाथ होने के फायदे और नुकसान के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाता है।

• यह दिन पहली बार 1976 में मनाया गया था और आधिकारिक तौर पर 1997 में घोषित किया गया था।

12 अगस्त: विश्व गज/हाथी दिवस

• 12 अगस्त को प्रतिवर्ष विश्व गज दिवस का रूप में मनाया जाता है, इसका उद्देश्य एशियाई व अफ्रीकी हाथियों के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाना है। भारत में इस दिन भारतीय वन्यजीव ट्रस्ट व पर्यावरण, वन तथा जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्रालय द्वारा गज महोत्सव का आयोजित किया जाता है। इसका उद्देश्य पेंटिंग तथा चित्रों द्वारा हाथियों की स्थिति के बारे में लोगों को अवगत करवाना है।

• पहली बार 12 अगस्त, 2012 को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय गज दिवस के रूप में मनाया गया था। इसकी शुरुआत 2011 में सबसे पहले माइकल क्लार्क तथा पेट्रीशिया सिम्स (कनाडाई फिल्म निर्माता) ने की थी। इसका उद्देश्य हाथियों के संरक्षण के प्रति जागरूकता फैलाना, हाथियों के प्राकृतिक आवास की सुरक्षा तथा हाथी दांत के अवैध व्यापार पर रोक लगाना है। विश्व भर के कुल 65 वन्यजीव संगठनों द्वारा इस दिवस को मनाया जाता है।

• IUCN की रेड लिस्ट में अफ्रीकी और एशियाई हाथी को असुरक्षित प्रजाति के रूप में रखा गया है। वर्तमान में अफ्रीकी हाथियों की जनसँख्या लगभग 4 लाख है जबकि एशियाई हाथियों की जनसँख्या लगभग 40 हज़ार है।

Jal Shakti Minister launches Swachh Bharat Mission Academy

• Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat launched Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM Academy) on August 11, 2020 in New Delhi, as part of the ongoing week-long behaviour change campaign Gandagi Mukt Bharat.

• After launching the SBM Academy by dialing the designated IVR toll-free number, the Minister stated that IVR based free mobile online learning course on ODF Plus will be crucial in achieving goals underlined in Phase - 2 of Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin).

• The Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) has transformed rural India by manifesting into a Jan Andolan for sanitation. This had led to the historic achievement of Open Defecation Free declaration by all villages, districts and states on October 2, 2019.

SC rules daughter is entitled to equal property rights even born before 2005

• Supreme Court has ruled that daughters enjoy equal property rights even if they are born before the 2005 amendment to Hindu Succession Act, 1956.

• Daughters have equal rights in the properties of Hindu Undivided Family (HUF).This is valid even if the father was not alive at the time of 2005 amendment.

Russia announces world’s first C-19 vaccine named “Sputnik V”

• Russian President, Vladimir Putin has announced that a C-19 vaccine named “Sputnik V” developed in the country has been registered for use.

• Russian Ministry of Health has given regulatory approval for what it claims is the world’s first C-19 vaccine, developed by Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute. Russia is the first country to register a Chinese virus vaccine.

• Phase 3 trials would start on August 12, 2020, industrial production was expected from September. 20 countries had pre-ordered more than a billion doses.

Ex- Defence Minister Walter Roger Martos Ruiz takes over as new Prime Minister of Peru

• The former defence minister and retired army general, Walter Roger Martos Ruiz becomes new Prime Minister of the country. His appointment was confirmed by President of Peru, Martin Vizcarra.

• Ruiz will succeed Pedro Álvaro Cateriano Bellido. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima.

• Former Indian footballer and Mohun Bagan captain, Laishram Manitombi Singh has passed away, after suffering from a prolonged illness.. He was 39.

• He captained Mohun Bagan for consecutive two seasons (2003-2004) wherein he scored three goals, and also led the club to win the Airlines Gold Cup in 2004.

• Manitombi was a key member of the India Under-23 side that lifted the LG Cup in 2003 by defeating Vietnam 3-2 in Ho Chi Minh City. He also represented India in the 2002 Asian Games in Busan.

जल शक्ति मंत्री ने स्वच्छ भारत मिशन अकादमी का शुभारंभ किया

• जल शक्ति मंत्री गजेंद्र सिंह शेखावत ने 11 अगस्त, 2020 को नई दिल्ली में स्वच्छ भारत मिशन (एसबीएम अकादमी) का शुभारंभ किया, जो चल रहे सप्ताह भर के व्यवहार परिवर्तन गंदगी मुक्त भारत अभियान के भाग के रूप में है।

• नामित आईवीआर टोल-फ्री नंबर डायल करके एसबीएम अकादमी शुरू करने के बाद, मंत्री ने कहा कि ओडीएफ प्लस पर आईवीआर आधारित मुफ्त मोबाइल ऑनलाइन लर्निंग कोर्स स्वच्छ भारत मिशन (ग्रामीण) के चरण -2 में रेखांकित लक्ष्यों को प्राप्त करने में महत्वपूर्ण होगा।

• स्वच्छ भारत मिशन (ग्रामीण) ने स्वच्छता के लिए जनआंदोलन के रूप में प्रकट होकर ग्रामीण भारत को बदल दिया है। इसने 2 अक्टूबर, 2019 को सभी गांवों, जिलों और राज्यों द्वारा खुले में शौच मुक्त घोषणा की ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि हासिल की थी।

सुप्रीम कोर्ट का बड़ा फैसला, पैतृक संपत्ति पर बेटी का हर स्थिति में समान अधिकार

• सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मंगलवार को बड़ा फैसला सुनाते हुए कहा है कि एक बेटी को अपने पिता की संपत्ति में बराबरी का अधिकार है। अदालत ने कहा कि संशोधित हिंदू उत्तराधिकार अधिनियम के तहत यह बेटियों का अधिकार है और बेटी हमेशा बेटी रहती है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि हिंदू महिला को अपने पिता की संपत्ति में भाई के समान ही हिस्सा मिलेगा।

• कोर्ट ने कहा कि नौ सितंबर 2005 के बाद से बेटियों के हिंदू अविभाजित परिवार की संपत्तियों में हिस्सा मिलेगा। बता दें कि साल 2005 में कानून बना था कि बेटा और बेटी दोनों के पिता की संपत्ति पर बराबर का अधिकार होगा। लेकिन, इसमें यह स्पष्ट नहीं था कि अगर पिता की मृत्यु 2005 से पहले हुई हो तो क्या ये कानून ऐसे परिवार पर लागू होगा या नहीं।

• इस मामले में मंगलवार को न्यायाधीश अरुण मिश्रा की अगुवाई वाली पीठ ने फैसला सुनाया कि यह कानून हर परिस्थिति में लागू होगा। पीठ ने अपने फैसले में कहा कि यह कानून बनने से पहले अर्थात साल 2005 से पहले भी अगर पिता की मृत्यु हो गई है तो भी पिता की संपत्ति पर बेटी को बेटे के बराबर का अधिकार मिलेगा।

रूस C-19 वैक्सीन रजिस्टर करने वाला बना पहला देश

• Russia successfully register "Sputnik V" C-19 Vaccine: रूस के राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर पुतिन ने घोषणा की है कि देश में तैयार की गई "Sputnik V" नामक C-19 वैक्सीन को इस्तेमाल के लिए सफलतापूर्वक पंजीकृत कर लिया गया है।

• रूस के स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय ने मॉस्को के गोमिया इंस्टीट्यूट द्वारा विकसित दुनिया की पहली C-19 वैक्सीन के लिए नियामक मंजूरी दे दी है। इसके साथ ही रूस C-19 वैक्सीन पंजीकृत करने वाला पहला देश बन गया है।

• C-19 वैक्सीन परीक्षण के दौरान सभी मानदंडों पर खरी उतरी और ये C-19 से पूरी तरह से सुरक्षा यानि इम्युनिटी को बनाए रखने का काम करती है। हालँकि देश और विदेश के कई वैज्ञानिकों ने चरण 3 परीक्षणों से पहले वैक्सीन को पंजीकृत करने के विकल्प पर सवाल कई सवाल उठाए हैं जो आम तौर पर कई महीनों तक और हजारों व्यक्तियों पर किया जाता हैं।

वाल्टर रोजर मार्टोस रुइज़ बने पेरू के नए पीएम

• पेरू के पूर्व रक्षा मंत्री और सेवानिवृत्त सेनाध्यक्ष वाल्टर रोजर मार्टोस रुइज (Walter Roger Martos Ruiz) को पेरू का नया प्रधान मंत्री बनाया गया है। उनकी नियुक्ति की पुष्टि की घोषणा पेरू के राष्ट्रपति मार्टिन विजकार्रा ने की।

• रुइज़, एल्वारो कैटरियानो बेलिडो की जगह लेंगे । शपथ ग्रहण समारोह लीमा के गवर्नमेंट पैलेस में आयोजित किया गया।

धमाके के बाद बेरूत में राजनीतिक संकट, प्रधानमंत्री समेत पूरी सरकार ने दिया इस्तीफा

• लेबनान की राजधानी बेरूत में बीते दिनों हुए भीषण धमाके के बाद जनता के आक्रोश का सामना कर रही सरकार ने इस्तीफा दे दिया है। इस धमाके में दो सौ से ज्यादा लोग मारे गए थे और हजारों घायल हो गए थे।

• प्रधानमंत्री हसन दियाब ने सोमवार की शाम को राष्ट्रीय टेलीविजन पर अपने संबोधन में इस्तीफे का एलान किया। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि बेरूत बंदरगाह पर हुए विस्फोट के मद्देनजर वह पद छोड़ रहे हैं।

• सरकार ने यह फैसला तब लिया है जब लोग देश के नेताओं पर लापरवाही और भ्रष्टाचार का आरोप लगा रहे हैं। प्रदर्शनकारी लगातार तीसरे दिन सड़कों पर उतरे थे और पुलिस से उनकी झड़प हुई थी। बेरूत में हुई भीषण धमाका एक गोदाम में आग लगने से हुआ था जहां असुरक्षित तरीके से करीब 2750 टन अमोनियम नाइट्रेट रखा था।

PM releases financing facility of Rs. 17,000 crores for farmers

• Prime Minister on August 9 launched a financing facility of Rs. 1 lakh crores under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund for agri-startups, entrepreneurs, farmer groups, agri-tech players for the post-harvest management and nurturing farm assets.

• Under the government launched PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Prime Minister transferred Rs. 17,000 crores into the bank accounts of 8.5 crores farmers. It was also informed that the amount went straight to farmers without any middlemen and commission.

• The new Agriculture Infrastructure Fund was launched via a video conference by PM Modi. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and other senior ministry officials were also present at the occasion.

• Under the scheme, around Rs. 1 lakh crores will be sanctioned under the financing facility in partnership with the multiple lending institutions as loans to farmer groups, primary agri-credit societies, agri-entrepreneurs, farmer producer organisations (FPOs), agri-tech players and startups.

• The National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched a loyalty platform named ‘nth Rewards’. Here nth represents “infinite possibilities”.

• It is an analytics-enabled omni-channel multi-branded loyalty platform. It allows users to earn “nth” (infinite) loyalty points through various bank transactions. These rewards point can be redeemed for various purposes including online shopping.

• Customers will earn loyalty points on almost every transaction made digitally, especially while using the credit and debit cards. ‘nth Rewards’ platform has a smart dashboard for users where they can see their points accumulation.

Andhra Pradesh launches state Industrial Development Policy 2020-23

• The Andhra Pradesh government launched state Industrial Development Policy 2020-23 on August 10, 2020. The State Industries Minister Gautam Reddy unveiled the much-awaited policy.

• While speaking at the launch, Reddy said that the state Industrial Development Policy 2020-23 envisages all-round and holistic development with the idea of empowerment being crucial.

• It will also enable the development of specific industrial parks as per local needs. The Industrial zoning will be a key focus area to ensure planned Industrial development.

• The policy will further aim to provide a ‘risk-free’ investment-friendly environment for industries in the state. It will also ensure minimised impact on the environment.

Gujarat launches Industrial Policy 2020

• Gujarat Industrial Policy 2020 has been unveiled by the state that aims to provide an estimated Rs 40000 crores as subsidies to the industries within the next five years.

• The aim of this policy is to lease out government land to industrialists, provide incentives to private industrial parks and also provide relocation incentives to units intending to relocate in wake of C-19.

Walter Roger Martos Ruiz Becomes New Prime Minister of Peru

• President of Peru(Republic of Peru) Martin Vizcarra appointed Walter Roger Martos Ruiz, the former defense minister and retired army general, as the country’s new Prime Minister.

• He succeeds Pedro Álvaro Cateriano Bellido . The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Government Palace in Lima. The president also appointed attorney Luis Inchishategui as head of the Ministry of Energy and Mines.

Centre Constitutes Panel to fix ceiling rates under Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Products (RoDTEP) scheme

• The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has constituted a three-member committee to determine the ceiling rates for reimbursement of taxes and duties to exporters under the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Products (RoDTEP) scheme.

• The committee would comprise of former Home Secretary G K Pillai as Chairman. The committee shall interact with the administrative ministries, export promotion councils, commodity boards, trade bodies and other stakeholders so as to take their views on the ceiling rates under RoDTEP scheme.

• The Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Products (RoDTEP) scheme for reimbursement of taxes was announced by the government to replace Merchandise Exports from India Scheme (MEIS) and make Indian products competitive in global markets..

• The RoDTEP scheme aims to reimburse the taxes and duties incurred by exporters such as duty on power charges, VAT on fuel in transportation, farm sector, captive power generation, mandi tax, stamp duty and central excise duty on fuel used in transportation, which are not exempted or refunded under any other existing scheme.

• Wrestling legend James 'Kamala' Harris passed away at the age of 70 on August 9, 2020. The news was confirmed by WWE.

• The WWE released an official statement saying that it was "saddened" to learn about the death of the former wrestler. He was 70.

• James Harris, known popularly as Kamala in WWE, made his pro wrestling debut in 1978,. He was best known for his appearances with WWE (formerly named WWF) from 1984 to 2006.

प्रधानमंत्री ने किसानों के लिए 17,000 करोड़ रु की वित्तपोषण सुविधा जारी की

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से कृषि इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर फंड के तहत एक लाख करोड़ रुपये की वित्तपोषण सुविधा को लॉन्च किया।

• गौरतलब है कि जुलाई में कृषि आधारभूत ढांचे के लिए सरकार ने रियायती ऋण का विस्तार करने के लिए एक लाख करोड़ के कोष के साथ कृषि इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर फंड की स्थापना को मंजूरी दी थी।

• उन्होंने कहा, 'इस कार्यक्रम में ‘पीएम-किसान योजना’ के अंतर्गत सहायता राशि की छठी किस्त भी जारी की जाएगी। 8.5 करोड़ किसानों के खातों में 17,000 करोड़ रुपये ट्रांसफर किए जाएंगे। महामारी के दौरान यह योजना किसानों के लिए बहुत मददगार साबित हो रही है।'

• कृषि इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर फंड वायरस महामारी से निपटने के लिए वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण द्वारा पेश किए गए 20 लाख करोड़ रुपये के प्रोत्साहन पैकेज का हिस्सा है। वित्त मंत्री ने आर्थिक पैकेज की तीसरी किस्त की घोषणा करते हुए कहा था कि इस कोष का इस्तेमाल शीत भंडारगृह, कटाई के बाद प्रबंधन ढांचे पर किया जाएगा।

• कृषि इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर फंड की अवधि 10 सालों तक यानी 2029 तक है। इससे ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में कृषि क्षेत्र से जुड़ा इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर तैयार करने में मदद मिलेगी। इसका लक्ष्य ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में निजी निवेश और नौकरियों को बढ़ावा देना है।

• चार वर्षों में ऋण वितरित किया जाएगा। चालू वर्ष में 10,000 करोड़ रुपये और अगले तीन वित्तीय वर्षों में प्रत्येक साल में 30,000 करोड़ रुपये के ऋण वितरित होंगे।

आंध्र प्रदेश ने राज्य औद्योगिक विकास नीति 2020-23 का शुभारंभ किया

• आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार ने सोमवार को नई औद्योगिक नीति 2020-23 पेश की। इसमें आर्थिक वृद्धि को गति देने और विनिर्माण के जरिये बड़े पैमाने पर रोजगार सृजित करने के लिये खाद्य प्रसंस्करण, कपड़ा समेत 10 महत्वपूर्ण क्षेत्रों की पहचान की गयी है।

• सरकार ने नियोजित औद्योगिक विकास सुनिश्चित करने और राज्य में पर्यावरण प्रभावित किये बिना उद्योग स्थापित करने के लिये जोखिम मुक्त, निवेश अनुकूल माहौल सृजित करने को लेकर औद्योगिक क्षेत्रों की पहचान की है।

• राज्य के उद्योग और बुनियादी ढांचा मंत्री मेकापित गौतम रेड्डी ने नई नीति पेश करते हुए कहा, ‘‘नई औद्योगिक नीति में निवेश को जोखिम मुक्त करना उसकी महत्वपूर्ण विशेषता है। हम ‘वाईएसआर एपी वन’ ला रहे हैं। यह अधिकार प्राप्त बहुआयामी व्यापार केंद्र होगा। यह उद्योगों के लिये एक ही जगह संसाधन और मदद मुहैया कराने के केंद्र के रूप में काम करेगा।

• ’’ मंत्री ने कहा, ‘‘वाईएसआर एपी वन निवेशकों को औद्योगिक इकाइयां स्थापित करने के मामले में हर संभव सहायता उपलब्ध कराएगा। औद्योगिकी इकाई स्थापित होने के बाद उन्हें बाजार पहुंच, नई प्रौद्योगिकी समेत अन्य सुविधाएं उपलब्ध करायी जाएंगी।’’

• गुजरात औद्योगिक नीति 2020 का राज्य द्वारा अनावरण किया गया है, जिसका उद्देश्य अगले पांच वर्षों के भीतर उद्योगों को सब्सिडी के रूप में अनुमानित 40000 करोड़ रुपये प्रदान करना है।

• केंद्रीय अप्रत्यक्ष कर और सीमा शुल्क बोर्ड (CBIC) ने निर्यात उत्पाद (RoTETEP) योजना पर शुल्क और कर की छूट के तहत निर्यातकों को करों और कर्तव्यों की प्रतिपूर्ति के लिए छत की दरों का निर्धारण करने के लिए एक तीन सदस्यीय समिति का गठन किया है।

• समिति में पूर्व गृह सचिव जी के पिल्लई शामिल होंगे। समिति प्रशासनिक मंत्रालयों, निर्यात संवर्धन परिषदों, कमोडिटी बोर्ड, व्यापार निकायों और अन्य हितधारकों के साथ बातचीत करेगी ताकि RoDTEP योजना के तहत छत की दरों पर अपने विचार रखे।

India bans import of 101 Defence items, gives big push for ‘Make in India’

• The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has announced that the Department of Military Affairs (DMA), Ministry of Defence (MoD) has prepared a list of 101 defence items for which there would be restriction on the import, beyond the timeline indicated against them.

• This step has been taken to boost indigenisation of defence production in India and push the country towards becoming Aatmanirbhar Bharat. The embargo on imports is planned to be progressively implemented between 2020 and 2024.

• The list includes high technology weapon systems such as assault rifles, artillery guns, sonar systems, corvettes, light combat helicopters, transport aircraft, radars, and many other items.

• As per the Defence Ministry, the list also includes wheeled Armoured Fighting Vehicles (AFVs) with an embargo date of December 2021, of which the Indian Army is expected to contract almost 200 AFVs at an approximate cost of over Rs. 5,000 crores.

• In addition to this, the defence ministry has also bifurcated the capital procurement budget for the financial year 2020-21 between domestic and foreign capital procurement routes.

Mauritius declares a state of environmental emergency after massive oil spill

• Mauritius' Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth declared a state of environmental emergency on August 7, 2020 after a shipreck caused massive fuel spill.

• A Japanese-owned ship, which ran aground on July 25, has been leaking tons of oil into the Indian Ocean. The ship is reportedly carrying nearly 4000 tons of fuel oil and 200 tons of diesel on board.

• The Mauritius PM made the brief statement by tweeting that Mauritius does not have the skills and expertise to refloat stranded ships, so he has asked for help from France.

Statement on Developmental and Regulatory Policies by RBI in August 2020

• The Reserve Bank of India has released the Monetary Policy Statement on Developmental and Regulatory Policies 2020-21.The major points that are important from exam point of view is mentioned below:

• Additional standing liquidity facility (ASLF)- National Housing Bank (NHB) and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) will be provided with an additional standing liquidity facility (ASLF) of Rs 5,000 crore each.

• Advances against Gold Ornaments and Jewellery– Presently, loans sanctioned by banks against pledge of gold ornaments and jewellery for non-agricultural purposes should not exceed 75 per cent of the value of gold ornaments and jewellery. RBI has increased the permissible loan to value ratio (LTV) for loans against pledge of gold ornaments and jewellery for non-agricultural purposes from 75 per cent to 90 per cent. This relaxation shall be available till March 31, 2021.

• Positive Pay Mechanism for Cheques– The RBI shall soon launched a mechanism named Positive Pay for all cheques of value ₹50,000 and above to further augment customer safety in cheque payments and reduce instances of fraud occurring on account of tampering of cheque leaves

RBI introduces Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) System for Digital Payments

• The Reserve Bank of India has announced the introduction of an Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) system for resolving customer disputes and grievances pertaining to digital payments.

• This ODR shall be a system-driven and rule-based mechanism with zero or minimal manual intervention.Subsequently, the ODR arrangement would be extended to cover disputes and grievances other than those related to failed transactions.

IndusInd Bank acquires 7.82% stake in Eveready by invoking pledged shares

• Private sector lender IndusInd Bank has acquired 7.82 percent stake in battery maker Eveready Industries by invoking pledged shares following loan default.

• The bank invoked pledge on 56,83,320 shares which constituted 7.82 percent of paid-up equity share capital of Eveready Industries.

• As per the information, the equity shares of Eveready Industries India Ltd. held by Williamson Magor and Co. Ltd were pledged with the IndusInd bank for securing the outstanding dues of Seajuli Developers & Finance Limited (Seajuli), the borrower company.

• रक्षा मंत्रालय के अनुसार, इस सूची में दिसंबर 2021 की तारीख के साथ पहिएदार आर्मर्ड फाइटिंग व्हीकल (एएफवी) भी शामिल हैं, जिनमें से भारतीय सेना को लगभग 200 एएफवी से अधिक रुपये की अनुमानित लागत पर अनुबंधित करने की उम्मीद है।

• इसके अलावा, रक्षा मंत्रालय ने वित्तीय वर्ष 2020-21 के लिए घरेलू और विदेशी खरीद मार्गों के बीच पूंजी खरीद बजट में भी कटौती की है।

जापान के जहाज से तेल रिसाव के बाद मॉरीशस ने की पर्यावरण आपातकाल की घोषणा

• हिंद महासागर स्थित में भारत (India) के पड़ोसी मॉरीशस (Mauritius) ने तट पर फंसे जापानी जहाज से कई टन ईंधन का रिसाव शुरू होने के बाद शुक्रवार देर रात 'पर्यावरणीय आपातकाल' (Environmental emergency) का ऐलान कर दिया। सैटेलाइट से ली गई तस्वीरों में उन पर्यावरणीय इलाकों के पास पानी में गहरे रंग का तैलीय पदार्थ फैलता दिखा जिन्हें सरकार ने 'बेहद संवेदनशील' बताया है।

• मॉरीशस के अनुसार जापानी शिप एमवी वाकाशिओ (MV Wakashio) में करीब 4 हजार टन ईंधन भरा था, जिसके रिसाव को बेहद खतरनाक बताया गया है। देश के प्रधानमंत्री प्रविंद जगन्नाथ (Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth) ने इससे पहले दोपहर में कहा था कि उनकी सरकार मदद के लिए फ्रांस से अपील कर रही है। उन्होंने ये भी कहा था कि रिसाव के रूप में आई ये आपदा करीब 13 लाख आबादी वाले उनके देश के लिए 'खतरा' है जो पूरी तरह से पर्यटन पर निर्भर है।

बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था

अगस्त 2020 में RBI द्वारा विकासात्मक और विनियामक नीतियों पर वर्णन

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने विकासात्मक और नियामक नीतियों पर मौद्रिक नीति वक्तव्य 2020-21 जारी किया है। परीक्षा की दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण प्रमुख बिंदुओं का उल्लेख नीचे किया गया है:

• अतिरिक्त स्थायी तरलता सुविधा (एएसएलएफ) - राष्ट्रीय आवास बैंक (एनएचबी) और नेशनल बैंक फॉर एग्रीकल्चर एंड रूरल डेवलपमेंट (नाबार्ड) प्रत्येक को 5,000 करोड़ रुपये की अतिरिक्त स्थायी तरलता सुविधा (एएसएलएफ) प्रदान की जाएगी।

• स्वर्ण आभूषण और ज्वेलरी के खिलाफ अग्रिम-वर्तमान में, गैर-कृषि उद्देश्यों के लिए सोने के गहने और आभूषणों की प्रतिज्ञा के लिए बैंकों द्वारा स्वीकृत ऋण, सोने के गहने और आभूषण के मूल्य का 75 प्रतिशत से अधिक नहीं होना चाहिए। RBI ने गैर-कृषि उद्देश्यों के लिए सोने के आभूषणों और आभूषणों के प्रति ऋण के लिए अनुमेय ऋण को मूल्य अनुपात (LTV) में 75 प्रतिशत से बढ़ाकर 90 प्रतिशत कर दिया है। यह छूट 31 मार्च, 2021 तक उपलब्ध रहेगी।

• चेक्स के लिए पॉजिटिव पे मैकेनिज्म - आरबीआई जल्द ही वैल्यू के सभी चेक के लिए पॉजिटिव पे नाम से एक मैकेनिज्म लॉन्च करेगा। चेक भुगतानों में ग्राहक की सुरक्षा को और बढ़ाने के लिए 50,000 रुपये और उससे अधिक और चेक के पत्तों से छेड़छाड़ के कारण होने वाली धोखाधड़ी की घटनाओं को कम करना है।

RBI ने डिजिटल भुगतान के लिए ऑनलाइन विवाद समाधान (ODR) प्रणाली की शुरुआत की

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक ने डिजिटल भुगतान से संबंधित ग्राहक विवादों और शिकायतों के समाधान के लिए एक ऑनलाइन विवाद समाधान (ODR) प्रणाली की शुरुआत की घोषणा की है।

• यह ODR शून्य या न्यूनतम मैनुअल हस्तक्षेप के साथ एक प्रणाली-चालित और नियम-आधारित तंत्र होगा। इसके परिणामस्वरूप, विफल लेनदेन से संबंधित विवादों और शिकायतों को कवर करने के लिए ODR व्यवस्था को बढ़ाया जाएगा।

इंडसइंड बैंक ने गिरवी रखे गए शेयरों को मंगाकर एवरेडी में 7.82% हिस्सेदारी हासिल की

• बैंक ने चाय बनाने वाली कंपनी मैकलियोड रसेल इंडिया लिमिटेड में 7.5 प्रतिशत (78,32,253 शेयर) हासिल करने की भी घोषणा की है।

• निजी क्षेत्र के इंडसइंड बैंक ने शनिवार को कहा कि उसने लोन डिफॉल्ट के बाद गिरवी रखे गए शेयरों को मंगाकर बैटरी बनाने वाली एवरेडी इंडस्ट्रीज में 7.82 फीसदी हिस्सेदारी हासिल कर ली है।

• बैंक ने एवरेडी इंडस्ट्रीज की चुकता इक्विटी शेयर पूंजी का 7.82 प्रतिशत हिस्सा बनाने वाले 56,83,320 शेयरों पर प्रतिज्ञा की।

RBI ने C-19 संबंधित तनावग्रस्त परिसंपत्तियों के लिए गठित की केवी कामत समिति

• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने C-19 संबंधित तनावग्रस्त परिसंपत्तियों के समाधान के लिए वित्तीय मापदंडों का सुझाव देने के लिए अनुभवी बैंकर केवी कामत के अंतर्गत एक विशेषज्ञ समिति का गठन किया है। समिति अपनी सिफारिशें आरबीआई को देगी, जिसे RBI संशोधित कर 30 दिनों में अधिसूचित करेगा।

• समिति के अन्य सदस्य दिवाकर गुप्ता, टी. एन. मनोहरन और अश्विन पारेख रणनीति सलाहकार होंगे और भारतीय बैंक संघ के सीईओ पैनल के सदस्य सचिव के रूप में कार्य करेंगे।

सम्‍मेलन और समझौते

फ्लिपकार्ट ने उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार की ODOP योजना के साथ की साझेदारी

• भारत के घरेलू ई-कॉमर्स मार्केटप्लेस फ्लिपकार्ट ने उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार की वन डिस्ट्रिक्ट, वन प्रोडक्ट (ODOP) योजना के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। यह एमओयू ओडीओपी योजना के तहत कारीगरों, बुनकरों और शिल्पकारों को "फ्लिपकार्ट समर्थ" पहल के दायरे में लाएगा। इससे सामाजिक और आर्थिक चुनौतियों का सामना करने वाले कारीगरों, बुनकरों और शिल्पकारों को ओडीओपी योजना के तहत अपने व्यापार को ऑनलाइन बढ़ाने में मदद मिलेगी।

• फ्लिपकार्ट समर्थ पहल कारीगरों, बुनकरों और शिल्पकारों को प्रशिक्षण, फ्लिपकार्ट के पूर्ति केंद्रों में समर्पित स्थान, मंच पर कैटलॉग मार्गदर्शन और डिसप्ले के साथ-साथ निरंतर विक्रेता समर्थन जैसी विभिन्न सेवाएं प्रदान करेगा। इस समझौते की मदद से, यूपी के इन सीमित क्षेत्र वाले समुदायों को अपने विशेष उत्पादों और शिल्प को देश भर के लाखों ग्राहकों तक पहुँचाने में मदद मिलेगी।

विश्व जैव ईंधन दिवस

• 10 अगस्त को प्रतिवर्ष विश्व जैव इंधन दिवस के रूप में मनाया जाता है, इसका उद्देश गैर-जीवाश्म इंधन के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाना है। जैव इंधन नवीकरणीय, प्राकृतिक रूप से नष्ट होने वाले (बायो-डिग्रेडेबल) तथा पर्यावरण के अनुकूल होते हैं।

• इस दिन वर्ष 1893 में सर रुडल्फ़ डीजल (डीजल इंजन के आविष्कारक) ने पहली बार मैकेनिकल इंजन का परीक्षण सफलतापूर्वक किया था। उनके शोध से यह अनुमान लगाया गया था कि अगली शताब्दी में जैव इंधन, जीवाश्म इंधन का स्थान ले लेगा।

• भारत में विश्व जैव इंधन दिवस का आयोजन पेट्रोलियम व प्राकृतिक गैस मंत्रालय द्वारा मनाया जाता है। इस वर्ष विश्व जैव इंधन दिवस प्रोग्राम को नई दिल्ली के विज्ञान भवन में मनाया गया। इस दौरान एथेनॉल, बायो-डीजल, बायो-CNG और सेकंड जनरेशन जैव इंधन पर विचार विमर्श किया गया।
