UN Cop26 Climate Change Summit in Glasgow Postponed until 2021

• The 2020 United Nations Climate Change Conference (UN COP26), which was scheduled to be held in Glasgow, Scotland from 9 to 20 November 2020 under the presidency of the UK government, has been postponed.

• The Cop26 Climate Change Summit has now be pushed back to 2021 and the new dates for the conference would be decided in due course.

• The announcement was made by the Cop26 president-designate and UK Business and Energy Secretary Alok Sharma.

Gurbani maestro Nirmal Singh Khalsa passes away

• Nirmal Singh Khalsa, a noted singer of Sikh 'Gurbani' hymns, passed away on April 2, 2020. He was detected with the infection just a day before his death. He was 62.

• Nirmal Singh Khalsa was a former priest at the Golden Temple in Amritsar. He was known to have the knowledge of the 31 'raags' in the Gurbani of the Guru Granth Sahib.

• He was honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri in 2009 for his outstanding contribution to the field of Gurbani music.

• सिख 'गुरबानी' भजनों के प्रसिद्ध गायक निर्मल सिंह खालसा का निधन 2 अप्रैल, 2020 को हुआ। उनकी मृत्यु से ठीक एक दिन पहले उन्हें संक्रमण का पता चला था। वह 62 वर्ष के थे।
• निर्मल सिंह खालसा अमृतसर के स्वर्ण मंदिर में एक पूर्व पुजारी थे। उन्हें गुरु ग्रंथ साहिब के गुरबानी में 31 'रागों' का ज्ञान था।
• उन्हें गुरबानी संगीत के क्षेत्र में उत्कृष्ट योगदान के लिए 2009 में प्रतिष्ठित पद्म श्री से सम्मानित किया गया था।

GoI extends validity of expired Driving Licences and Vehicle Registration till 30 June

• The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has announced an extension on the validity of documents like driving licenses, permits and registration that are expired since 1 February.

• The Ministry has directed all states and Union Territories (UT) to treat the documents as valid till 30 June.

Mega merger of 10 PSU Banks comes into effect

• The mega merger of 10 PSU banks into 4 comes into effect from April 1, 2020. As per the merger, the Oriental Bank of Commerce and the United Bank of India have now be merged with the Punjab National Bank with the latter being the Head Bank.

• In another merger, Corporation Bank and Andhra Bank are merged into Union Bank of India. The branches of the merged banks will work as the branches of Head or Anchor bank.

As per the consolidation scheme, the details of 10 state-run banks into 4 are mentioned below-

• United Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce will merge into Punjab National Bank

• Syndicate Bank will merge into Canara Bank

• Allahabad Bank into Indian Bank

• Corporation and Andhra Banks will be merged in Union Bank of India

• To help India make a USD 5 trillion economy

• Reducing the lending cost

• The legendary historian and educationist, Professor Arjun Dev passed away. He was born on November 12, 1938, in Leiah, West Punjab (now in Pakistan).

• He served as a historian at the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT).

लर्निंग ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस और वाहन पंजीकरण वैधता 30 जून तक बढ़ी

सड़क परिवहन और राजमार्ग मंत्रालय ने ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस, परमिट और पंजीकरण जैसे दस्तावेज की वैधता बढ़ा दी गई है। जिनकी वैधता अवधि 1 फरवरी से समाप्त हो चुकी है। केन्द्र सरकार ने प्रदेश के परिवहन विभाग को भेजे गए एक परामर्श पत्र में कहा है कि ऐसे दस्तावेज को 30 जून तक वैध माना जाना चाहिए। सुविधा के लिए यह निर्णय लिया है। इनमें फिटनेस, परमिट (सभी प्रकार के), ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस, पंजीकरण या मोटर वाहन नियम के तहत कई अन्य दस्तावेज शामिल हैं।

पंजीयन कार्यालय 7 अप्रैल तक बंद रहेगा: इसके पहले पंजीयन कार्यालय को 31 मार्च तक बंद रखने के आदेश वाणिज्यिकर (पंजीयन कार्यालय) ने जारी किए थे। वायरस के फैलने की आंशाका को घ्यान में रखते हुए अब 7 अप्रैल तक राज्य के सभी पंजीयन कार्यालय को बंद रहेंगे।

10 बैंकों का विलय: 1 अप्रैल से लागू हो रहा है मेगा बैंक मर्जर

1 अप्रैल से देश में मेगा बैंक मर्जर अमल में आने वाला है। सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के 10 बैंकों का विलय होकर केवल 4 बैंक रह जाएंगे। इस मेगा मर्जर के तहत ओरिएंटल बैंक ऑफ कॉमर्स और यूनाइटेड बैंक ऑफ इंडिया का पंजाब नेशनल बैंक (PNB) में, सिंडिकेट बैंक का केनरा बैंक में, आंध्रा बैंक व कॉरपोरेशन बैंक का यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया में और इलाहाबाद बैंक का इंडियन बैंक में विलय होगा।

इसे बारे में रिजर्व बैंक की ओर से अधिसूचनाएं जारी हो गई हैं। अधिसूचना में कहा गया है कि 1 अप्रैल 2020 से इलाहाबाद बैंक की सभी शाखाएं इंडियन बैंक की शाखाओं के रूप में काम करेंगी। इसी तरह ओरिएंटल बैंक ऑफ कॉमर्स व यूनाइटेड बैंक ऑफ इंडिया की शाखाएं पंजाब नैशनल बैंक (PNB) की शाखाओं के रूप में, सिंडिकेट बैंक की शाखाएं केनरा बैंक की शाखाओं के रूप में और आंध्रा बैंक व कॉर्पोरेशन बैंक की शाखाएं यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया की शाखाओं के रूप में काम करेंगी।

बंद हो सकती हैं कुछ ब्रांच

बैंकों के विलय के चलते कुछ बैंक शाखाएं बंद हो सकती हैं। ऐसा उस परिस्थिति में हो सकता है, जब विलय होने वाले बैंक और मुख्य बैंक की शाखा आस-पास हों।

बदल सकते हैं IFSC और MICR कोड

जो बैंक विलय होते हैं, उनकी अंडरटेकिंग्स उन बैंकों को एक्वायर करने वाले बैंक यानी मुख्य को ट्रांसफर हो जाती हैं। इसमें पूरा बिजनेस, एसेट्स, अधिकार, टाइटल, क्लेम, लाइसेंस, मंजूरियां आदि व अन्य प्रिविलेजेस और सभी प्रॉपर्टी, सभी बॉरोइंग्स, लायबिलिटी और ऑब्लीगेशंस शामिल रहते हैं। ऐसे में काफी संभावना होती है कि विलय होने वाले बैंकों की शाखाओं के IFSC कोड, ब्रांच कोड और MICR बदल दिए जाएं।

Small Savings Schemes की जमा दरों में भारी कटौती;

केंद्र सरकार ने वित्त वर्ष 2020-21 की पहली तिमाही में PPF, KVP जैसी विभिन्न स्मॉल सेविंग स्कीम के ब्याज दर में 0.70 फीसद से 1.40 फीसद तक की कटौती कर दी है। Public Provident Fund (PPF) पर ब्याज दर में 0.80 फीसद की भारी कमी की गई है। इसका मतलब है कि अप्रैल-जून तिमाही के दौरान PPF पर 7.1 फीसद का ब्याज मिलेगा। वहीं, Kisan Vikas Patra (किसान विकास पत्र) पर ब्याज दर को 0.70 फीसद घटाकर 6.9 फीसद कर दिया गया है। उल्लेखनीय है कि लंबे समय से इस बात के कयास लगाए जा रहे थे कि सरकार लघु बचत योजनाओं पर ब्याज दर में कमी कर सकती है।

National Savings Certificate (NSC) पर ब्याज दर में 1.10 फीसद की जबरदस्त कटौती की गई है। अब इस स्कीम में निवेश पर निवेशकों को 6.8 फीसद की दर से ब्याज मिलेगा। पांच साल के रेकरिंग डिपोजिट (RD) पर ब्याज दर में 1.40 फीसद की सबसे ज्यादा कमी की गई है। अब इस अवधि के RD पर 5.8 फीसद की दर से ब्याज मिलेगा। वहीं, पांच साल के टाइम डिपोजिट पर 6.7 फीसद का ब्याज मिलेगा। इस स्कीम में ब्याज दर में एक फीसद की कटौती की गई है।

महान इतिहासकार प्रोफेसर अर्जुन देव का निधन

महान इतिहासकार और शिक्षाविद्, प्रोफेसर अर्जुन देव का निधन हुआ। उनका जन्म 12 नवंबर, 1938 को पश्चिम पंजाब (अब पाकिस्तान) के लीया में हुआ था। उन्होंने राष्ट्रीय शैक्षिक अनुसंधान और प्रशिक्षण परिषद (NCERT) में इतिहासकार के रूप में भी कार्य किया था।

अर्जुन देव ने पाठ्यपुस्तक मूल्यांकन पर राष्ट्रीय संचालन समिति के सदस्य सचिव के रूप में कार्य कर कर चुके है। उनकी पुस्तक “History of the World: From the Late 19th to the Early 20th century” को NCERT द्वारा बंद करने बाद ओरिएंट ब्लैक्सवान द्वारा पुनः प्रकाशित किया था, जिसे व्यापक रूप से पढ़ा गया और जो बहुत लोकप्रिय हुई थी।

समूचे ओडिशा राज्य में हर साल 1 अप्रैल को उत्कल दिवस या ओडिशा दिवस मनाया जाता है। ओडिशा दिवस 1 अप्रैल 1936 को एक अलग राज्य के रूप में गठन होने की याद में मनाया जाता है। इस साल 83 वां उत्कल दिवस या ओडिशा का स्थापना दिवस मनाया गया है। ओडिशा का गठन एक अलग राज्य के रूप में 1 अप्रैल, 1936 को भाषाई आधार पर किया गया था। इसे संयुक्त बंगाल-बिहार-उड़ीसा प्रांत से अलग किया गया था।

Tata Power JV starts Shuakhevi HPP in Georgia

• Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC, a Joint Venture between Tata Power, Norway’s Clean Energy Invest (CEI), and International Financial Corporation (IFC) has announced the start of commercial operation of the 178 MW Shuakhevi Hydro Power Project (Shuakhevi HPP) located in southwest Georgia.

• The project will generate around 450 GWh of clean energy to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases by more than 200,000 tonnes a year.

टाटा पावर का जॉर्जिया संयंत्र चालू
निजी क्षेत्र की टाटा पावर ने जॉर्जिया में अपने 178 मेगावाट के शुबाखेवी पनबिजली संयंत्र का वाणिज्यिक परिचालन शुरू कर दिया। कंपनी ने एक बयान में सोमवार को कहा कि टाटा पावर और नॉर्वे की क्लीन एनर्जी इंवेस्ट एवं इंटरनेशनल फाइनेंशियल कॉरपोरेशन ने संयुक्त उपक्रम एडजरिस्ट्सकली जॉर्जिया में 187 मेगावाट की पनबिजली परियोजना स्थापित की। इसमें से 178 मेगावाट क्षमता के संयंत्र ने काम करना शुरू कर दिया है। कंपनी ने कहा कि बाकी बची नौ मेगावाट की क्षमता के संयंत्र को भी जल्द चालू कर लिया जाएगा। नौ मेगावाट की परियोजना का नाम स्खालटा पनबिजली परियोजना है जो पूरी शुआखेवी परियोजना का ही हिस्सा है। टाटा पावर के मुख्य कार्यकारी और प्रबंध निदेशक प्रवीर सिन्हा ने कहा कि यह परियोजना टाटा पावर और उसके सहयोगियों के लिए एक मील पत्थर है। यह पिछले 70 साल में लगायी गयी सबसे प्रभावशाली और अहम ऊर्जा परियोजनाओें में से एक है। यह जॉर्जिया की ऊर्जा सुरक्षा को पूरा करेगी। इस परियोजना पर करीब 50 करोड़ डॉलर का निवेश किया गया है।

SBI raises $100 million via green bonds

• State Bank of India has raised USD 100 million green bonds, the first such bond by any state-owned bank in this fiscal.

• The bonds were priced at 3M Libor + 80 basis points. This is the third set of green bond issue by SBI, aggregating USD 700 million.

• The proceeds will be used to fund the non-convention energy sector. These bonds will be issued through SBI’s London branch and shall be listed on Singapore Exchange (SGX).

Science and Technology

SpaceX wins NASA award for planned lunar space station

• A new space capsule from SpaceX has been picked up by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to ferry cargo and supplies to the agency’s planned lunar space station.

• Hence, with a $7 billion NASA contract, SpaceX will use its biggest rocket, Falcon Heavy to send spacecraft named as “Dragon XL” to the Lunar Gateway.

• This is an outpost that NASA is planning to build and that will orbit the moon sometime within the next decade.

Air Vice-Marshal Chandan Singh Rathore passed away

• Air Vice Marshall Chandan Singh Rathore passed away at his Jodhpur residence on March 29, 2020. He had served in the Indian Air Force at the time of the 1962 Indo-China war and the 1971 India-Pakistan war.

• The Air Vice Marshall had planned and executed helicopter operations during India’s 1971 war with Pakistan for the liberation of Bangladesh.

• He had flown 8 missions into the enemy territory during the war to supervise the progress of lifting two companies of troops in the Sylhet area by the Indian Air Force.

• He will be awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, the second-highest military award, posthumously for his acts of bravery in the presence of the enemy.

भारतीय स्टेट बैंक ग्रीन बॉन्ड के माध्यम से $100 मिलियन जुटाया

भारतीय स्टेट बैंक ग्रीन बॉन्ड के माध्यम से $100 मिलियन जुटाया। देश के सबसे बड़े ऋणदाता भारतीय स्टेट बैंक के अनुसार उसने 100 मिलियन अमरीकी डॉलर के ग्रीन बॉन्ड जुटाए हैं, इस वित्तीय वर्ष में किसी भी राज्य के स्वामित्व वाले बैंक द्वारा ऐसा पहला बॉन्ड है। ऋणदाता के पास पहले से ही दो ऐसे बॉन्ड है जो कि ग्रीन बॉन्ड जारी करती है, जो कि 700 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर का है। बैंक के अध्यक्ष रजनीश कुमार ने एक बयान में कहा कि, “यह विशेष रूप से इस गंभीर स्थिति में देश के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण लेनदेन है। हमारा मानना है कि इस जारी करने से देश के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाजार में मजबूती का भरोसा मिलेगा।” उन्होंने कहा कि बैंक ने पर्यावरण पर सकारात्मक प्रभाव पैदा करने के उद्देश्य से ग्रीन बॉन्ड ढांचे को अपनाया है और यह लेन-देन एक स्थिरता यात्रा के हिस्से के रूप में एक और कदम है। बॉन्ड 31 मार्च 2020 को SBI की लंदन शाखा के माध्यम से जारी किए जाएंगे और सिंगापुर SGX पर सूचीबद्ध किए जाएंगे।

नासा SpaceX के सबसे बड़े रॉकेट फाल्कन हेवी द्वारा अंतरिक्ष में भेजेगा "ड्रैगन एक्सएल"

नैशनल एरोनॉटिक्स एंड स्पेस एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन (NASA) द्वारा SpaceX के एक नए स्पेस कैप्सूल को एजेंसी की निर्धारित योजना के तहत लुनार अंतरिक्ष स्टेशन तक कार्गो और आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के लिए चुना गया है। इसके अंतर्गत SpaceX नासा अनुबंध के 7 बिलियन डॉलर का इस्तेमाल अपने सबसे बड़े रॉकेट फाल्कन हेवी द्वारा अंतरिक्ष यान "ड्रैगन एक्सएल" को लुनार कक्षा में भेजने के लिए करेगा। नासा अंतरिक्ष में एक अउटपोस्ट बनाने की योजना बना रहा है और जो अगले दशक में चंद्रमा की परिक्रमा करेगा।

ड्रैगन एक्सएल अंतरिक्ष यान को चांद की सतह पर चांद की सतह पर मौजूद भविष्य के अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों की मदद के लिए अनुसंधान की आपूर्ति करने का काम सौंपा जाएगा। यह मिशन हर 6 से 12 महीने की अवधि के लिए कक्षीय स्टेशन पर डॉक किया जाएगा। यह चंद्र कक्षा में 5 मीट्रिक टन से अधिक कार्गो को चंद्र कक्षा में ले जाने में सक्षम होगा।

एयर वाइस मार्शल चंदन सिंह राठौर का निधन हुआ

महावीर चक्र प्राप्त करने वाले एयर वाइस मार्शल चंदन सिंह राठौड़ का जोधपुर स्थित निवास पर निधन हो गया। उन्होंने 1962 के युद्ध और 1971 के युद्ध में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई थी।

1962 का युद्ध

1962 के युद्ध में, उन्हें लद्दाख में आपूर्ति पहुंचाने का कार्य दिया गया था। उन्होंने महत्वपूर्ण आपूर्ति को सफलतापूर्वक ड्राप किया, हालांकि उनके विमान को 19 बार दुश्मन की फायरिंग का निशाना बना था। उनकी इस बहादुरी के लिए उन्हें वीर चक्र से सम्मानित किया गया था।

1971 का युद्ध

Mega merger of 10 state-run banks into four lenders will come into force from April 1

• The Reserve Bank of India has announced that the schemes for the merger of ten state-run banks into four banks will take effect from 1 April 2020.

• The banking regulator has also announced that the branches of merging banks will operate as the branch of the banks in which these have been amalgamated, from the beginning of next fiscal year 2020-21.

• After the merger, the total number of PSBs will be reduced to 12 from 27 PSBs, including 7 large PSBs and 5 small PSBs.

• Also, the anchor bank Punjab National Bank will become the country’s second largest bank with asset size of Rs 17.94 lakh crore, after SBI (over Rs 52 lakh crore).

• The amalgamation is the part of RBI’s consolidation plan to create bigger size stronger banks in the public sector.

• The following amalgamation will take place:

1. Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India will merge with Punjab National Bank (PNB) branches

2. Syndicate Bank will merge with Canara Bank

3. Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank will merge into Union Bank of India

4. Allahabad Bank will merge into Indian Bank.

1 अप्रैल से 10 बैंकों के विलय से बनेंगे 4 बैंक, RBI की अधिसूचना जारी

आगामी 1 अप्रैल से आपका बैंक बदलने वाला है, क्योंकिदेश के 10 सरकारी बैंकों का विलय कर चार बड़े बैंक बनाने की कवायद अपने अंतिम चरण में है। 1 अप्रैल को इन 10 बैंकों के विलय से चार बड़े बैंक बनेंगे जो देश के वित्तीय क्षेत्र का सबसे बड़ा विलय होगा। भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने शनिवार को इस विलय को अधिसूचित कर दिया, जो इस महीने की शुरुआत में जारी एक अधिसूचना के जरिए लागू हो जाएगा।

ओरिएंटल बैंक ऑफ कॉमर्स तथा यूनाइटेड बैंक ऑफ इंडिया की शाखाएं पंजाब नैशनल बैंक (PNB) की शाखाओं के रूप में काम करेंगी। वहीं, सिंडिकेट बैंक केनरा बैंक के रूप में काम करेगा। आंध्र बैंक तथा कॉर्पोरेशन बैंक की शाखाएं यूनियन बैंक ऑफ इंडिया के रूप में काम करेंगी। जबकि, इलाहाबाद बैंक की शाखाएं इंडियन बैंक की शाखाओं के रूप में काम करेंगी।

NTPC concludes acquisition of govt’s stake in THDC, NEEPCO at Rs 11,500 cr

• National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) concluded the acquisition of Centre’s entire stake in two hydropower generating firms, Tehri Hydro Power Complex (THDC) India and North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO), at Rs 11,500 crore.

• Under the deal, NTPC acquired the latter’s 74.496 % equity stake in THDC India Ltd (THDCIL) for Rs 7,500 crore & its 100% equity in North-Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPC) for Rs 4,000 crore respectively.

• Former Union Minister and founding member of the Samajwadi party, Beni Prasad Verma passed away on March 27, 2020. He was 79.

एनटीपीसी ने टीएचडीसी और नीपको को खरीदा, सरकार को मिले 11,500 करोड़ रुपए

सरकार ने दो बिजली कंपनियों का रणनीतिक विनिवेश कर 11,500 करोड़ रुपए जुटाए। इन दोनों सरकारी कंपनियों के नाम हैं टीएचडीसी और एनईईपीसीओ (नीपको)। इन दोनों कंपनियों का अधिग्रहण एनटीपीसी ने किया है। इसके साथ ही विनिवेश से सरकार की कुल कमाई चालू कारोबारी साल में बढ़कर 46,500 करोड़ रुपए पर पहुंच गई। चालू कारोबारी साल में सरकार ने विनिवेश से 1.05 लाख करोड़ रुपए कमाने का लक्ष्य रखा था। हालांकि संशोधित अनुमान में इसे घटाकर 65,000 करोड़ रुपए कर दिया गया है।

केंद्र ने टीएचडीसी में अपनी 74.49 फीसदी और नीपको में 100 फीसदी हिस्सेदारी बेची

सरकार को टीएचडीसी बेचकर 7,500 करोड़ और नीपको बेचकर 4,000 करोड़ रुपए मिले। टीएचडीसी में सरकार ने अपनी 74.49 फीसदी हिस्सेदारी बेची। नीपको में सरकार ने अपनी 100 फीसदी हिस्सेदारी बेच दी है। आर्थिक मामलों की मंत्रिमंडलीय समिति ने नवंबर 2019 में नॉर्थ ईस्टर्न इलेक्ट्रिक पावर कॉरपोरेशन (नीपको) और टीएचडीसी में अपनी हिस्सेदारी एनटीपीसी को बेचे जाने की मंजूरी दी थी।

समाजवादी पार्टी के राज्यसभा सदस्य व पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री बेनी प्रसाद वर्मा का लखनऊ में निधन

पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री व प्रदेश सरकार में मंत्री रह चुके समाजवादी नेता बेनी प्रसाद वर्मा का शुक्रवार को शाम साढ़े छह बजे निधन हो गया। तबीयत खराब होने पर शुक्रवार दोपहर दो बजे उन्हें लखनऊ के मेदांता अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था। 'बेनी बाबू' के नाम से प्रसिद्ध वर्मा समाजवादी पार्टी के संस्थापक सदस्यों में थे और मुलायम सिंह यादव के निकटस्थ माने जाते थे। बेनी प्रसाद वर्मा समाजवादी पार्टी के राज्यसभा सदस्य थे। उनके निधन पर मुलायम व सपा अध्यक्ष अखिलेश समेत कई नेताओं ने शोक जताया है।

केंद्र में इस्पात मंत्री रह चुके 79 वर्षीय बुजुर्ग समाजवादी नेता बेनी प्रसाद वर्मा को डेढ़ माह में दो बार इलाज के लिए भर्ती कराया गया जा चुका था। वह सांस समेत कई बीमारियों से पीड़ित थे। मेदांता अस्पताल लखनऊ के मेडिकल डायरेक्टर डॉ. राकेश कपूर के मुताबिक करीब डेढ़ माह से उनका उपचार चल रहा था। उन्हें पैंक्रिटाइटिस की समस्या थी। डॉक्टरों ने पैंक्रियाज में कैंसर की संभावना जताई थी। वह गठिया के साथ-साथ गुर्दे की बीमारी से भी पीड़ित थे। शुक्रवार दोपहर वह बेहोशी की हालत में लाए गए थे, डॉक्टरों ने काफी प्रयास किया मगर, शाम साढ़े छह बजे उनका निधन हो गया।

जन स्माल फाइनेंस बैंक ने UPI QR- आधारित ऋण की किस्त भुगतान सुविधा की लॉन्च

जन स्माल फाइनेंस बैंक ने अपने ग्राहकों के लिए भारतीय राष्ट्रीय भुगतान निगम (National Payment Corporation of India - NPCI) के साथ मिलकर यूनिफाइड पेमेंट्स इंटरफेस (UPI) QR- आधारित ऋण किस्त भुगतान सुविधा शुरू की है। यूपीआई क्यूआर आधारित ऋण किस्त भुगतान सुविधा शुरुआत में केवल जन स्माल फाइनेंस बैंक के लगभग 40 लाख से अधिक ग्राहकों के लिए उपलब्ध होगी।

यूपीआई क्यूआर आधारित ऋण किस्त भुगतान सुविधा जन स्माल फाइनेंस बैंक के ग्राहकों को अपने ऋण खाते के लिए यूपीआई क्यूआर कोड बनाने के साथ-साथ किसी भी यूपीआई एप्लिकेशन की मदद से तुरंत किस्त भुगतान करने में सक्षम बनाएगी।

DST ने कोविड-19 पर स्टार्टअप के जरिये तकनीकी मैपिंग हेतु टास्क फोर्स का गठन किया

Tamil Nadu’s Nagapattinam District Bifurcated to Form Mayiladuthurai as 38th District

• Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswamy has announced the formation of a new district Mayiladuthurai by bifurcating the existing district of Nagapattinam.

• With this, the total number of districts in the state has increased to 38.

• Till date, Tamil Nadu had 37 districts, of which five new districts were formed in 2019.

NABARD Extends Financial Support of Rs 42,313 cr in FY’20 for rural infrastructure

• The apex agriculture financial institution, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has provided a financial support up to Rs 42,313 crore towards building rural infrastructure in the current fiscal year 2019-20.

• Till date, NABARD has disbursed Rs 20,869 Crore during the current year in addition to providing Rs 5,686 Crore for rural connectivity

• In the last five years, NABARD has disbursed Rs 1.98 lakh crore towards rural development.

• The Union Cabinet recently approved a Memorandum of Agreement (MoU) between India and Germany for cooperation in the Railway Sector. The agreement was signed earlier in February 2020 between both the sides.

मंत्रिमंडल ने रेलवे क्षेत्र में भारत और जर्मनी के बीच सहमति पत्र को मंजूरी दी

केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने 25 मार्च 2020 को भारत और जर्मनी के बीच ज्ञापन समझौते को मंज़ूरी दे दी है। इस ज्ञापन समझौते पर रेल मंत्रालय और जर्मनी के डीबी इंजीनियरिंग एंड कंसल्टिंग जीएमबीएच के बीच हस्ताक्षर किए गए थे। इस ज्ञापन समझौते पर फरवरी 2020 में हस्ताक्षर किए गए थे।

यह समझौता रेलवे क्षेत्र में तकनीकी सहयोग की सुविधा प्रदान करेगा। भारत और जर्मनी के सम्बन्ध मजबूत और मित्रतापूर्ण हैं। ये मुख्यतः व्यापार, तकनीकी शिक्षा और सांस्कृतिक आदान-प्रदान पर केंद्रित हैं।

इस समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) से रेलवे क्षेत्र में तकनीकी सहयोग के लिए हुए निम्नालिखित क्षेत्रों में सहयोग कायम हो सकेगा

• माल परिचालन: माल परिचालन में सीमा पार परिवहन, मोटर वाहन परिवहन आदि शामिल है।

• यात्री परिचालन: यात्री परिचालन में उच्च गति और सीमा पार यातायात आदि शामिल है।

• बुनियादी ढांचा निर्माण और प्रबंधन: बुनियादी ढांचा निर्माण और प्रबंधन में समर्पित माल गलियारों और यात्री स्टेशनों के विकास आदि शामिल है।

• आधुनिक, प्रतिस्पर्धी रेलवे संगठन का विकास: इसमें संगठनात्मक संरचनाओं के सुधार और रेलवे के उद्धार आदि शामिल है।

• रेलवे आईटी समाधान: रेलवे के परिचालन, विपणन और बिक्री के साथ-साथ प्रशासनिक उद्देश्यों के लिए आईटी समाधान आदि है।

"Asterix और Obelix" कॉमिक्स के सह-निर्माता अल्बर्ट उडेरो का निधन हो गया। अल्बर्ट उडेरजो ने साल 1959 में फ्रांस के अपने साथी और लेखक रेने गोसनी के साथ मिलकर एस्टेरिक्स का निर्माण किया। "एस्टेरिक्स और ओबेलिक्स" ने पिछले 60 वर्षों से अपने दर्शकों का मनोरंजन करता आ रहा है।

Cabinet approved the continuation of RoSCTL scheme from 1 April

• The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved for continuation of Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) scheme from 1 April 2020.

• Until then, the scheme will be merged with the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP). It is expected to make the textile sector competitive by rebating all taxes and levies that are currently not being rebated under any other mechanism.

Delhi Government Announces Rs 100-cr “Branding Delhi” scheme to make Delhi tourism brand

• The Delhi government has announced a new scheme titled “Branding Delhi”, to introduce the national capital as a tourism brand to domestic and foreign tourists and create news jobs in the sector.

• The Rs 100-crore scheme will re-brand Delhi tourism and the city will be introduced as a tourism brand in the country and abroad to domestic and foreign tourists.

Deadline for GST returns extended to 30 June

• Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has extended the last date for filing GST returns for March, April, and May to 30 June.

• The previous date for filing of GST returns was March 31, 2020.

• The deadline for composition returns on GST has been also been extended to 30 June 2020.

US & UAE troops launch biennial exercise “Native Fury”

• US Marines and UAE Emirati forces conducted the biennial exercise, named Native Fury at Abu Dhabi. The biennial exercise, called Native Fury, shows the close ties between American forces and the United Arab Emirates, a federation of seven sheikhdoms on the Arabian Peninsula home to Abu Dhabi.

• The forces seize a sprawling model Middle Eastern city, a drill conducted amid tensions with Iran and despite the new coronavirus pandemic.

• It also comes after the U.S. killed Iran’s most prominent general in a drone strike in January, and Tehran retaliated with a ballistic missile attack on American forces in Iraq.

Karur Vysya Bank Launches Pre-paid Card ‘Enkasu’ in Karur District

• In line with the digital initiative of the Government of India, Karur Vysya Bank has launched a pre-paid card named ‘Enkasu’ in Karur, to reduce the usage of cash in the district.

• The bank has launched the Enkasu card under its Quit Cash Movement, to do away with the need for cash and it will be beneficial to both merchants and customers alike.

• Enkasu works on Near Field Communication Technology in a semi closed loop.

• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने 1 अप्रैल 2020 से राज्य और केंद्रीय कर और लेवी (RoSCTL) योजना की छूट जारी रखने के लिए मंजूरी दे दी।

• तब तक, निर्यात उत्पाद पर उत्पाद शुल्क और करों के छूट (RoDTEP) के साथ विलय कर दिया जाएगा। उम्मीद है कि टेक्सटाइल क्षेत्र को उन सभी करों और लेवी को छूट देकर प्रतिस्पर्धी बनाया जाएगा जो वर्तमान में किसी अन्य तंत्र के तहत छूट नहीं दे रहे हैं।

दिल्ली सरकार ने दिल्ली पर्यटन को ब्रांड बनाने के लिए 100 करोड़ रुपये की “ब्रांडिंग दिल्ली” योजना की घोषणा की

• दिल्ली सरकार ने राष्ट्रीय राजधानी को घरेलू और विदेशी पर्यटकों के लिए एक पर्यटन ब्रांड के रूप में पेश करने और क्षेत्र में समाचार नौकरियों का सृजन करने के लिए "ब्रांडिंग दिल्ली" नामक एक नई योजना की घोषणा की है।

• 100 करोड़ रुपये की योजना दिल्ली पर्यटन को फिर से ब्रांड बनाएगी और शहर को घरेलू और विदेशी पर्यटकों के लिए देश और विदेश में एक पर्यटन ब्रांड के रूप में पेश किया जाएगा।

GST Return Date: 30 जून तक करें GST रिटर्न दाखिल, कोरोना वायरस के कारण बढ़ी समयसीमा

कारोबारियों के लिए मार्च- मई की जीएसटी रिटर्न दाखिल करने की अंतिम तारीख 30 जून 2020 कर दी गई है। तारीख बढ़ाते हुए वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा कि पांच करोड़ रुपये तक का कारोबार करने वाली कंपनियों से जीएसटी रिटर्न दाखिल करने में देरी पर कोई विलंब शुल्क, जुर्माना अथवा ब्याज नहीं लिया जायेगा।

सीतारमण ने मंगलवार को वीडियो कन्फ्रेंसिंग के जरिये कहा कि पांच करोड़ रुपये से अधिक कारोबार करने वाली कंपनियों के मामले में 15 दिन के भीतर जीएसटी रिटर्न दाखिल करने पर कोई विलंब शुलक और जुर्माना नहीं लिया जायेगा। ऐसे मामलों में देरी होने पर 9 फीसद की घटी दर पर ब्याज लगाया जायेगा।

दुनिया पर छाए कोरोना वायरस (coronavirus) के संकट के बीच अमेरिका और संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (यूएई) की इलीट फोर्स ने सोमवार से सैन्य अभ्यास शुरू किया। यूएई के अल हमारा सैन्य अड्डे पर जारी इस अभ्यास में अमेरिका के मरीन कमांडो और अमीराती कमांडो खासतौर से हिस्सा ले रहे हैं। ईरान से चल रहे अमेरिका के तनावपूर्ण संबंधों के बीच इस सैन्य अभ्यास का होना भी खुद में खास है।

अल हमारा अड्डे में इस अभ्यास के लिए खासतौर पर कई निर्माण किए गए हैं। रेत के टीले तैयार किए गए हैं, मस्जिद तैयार की गई है और कई इमारतें बनाई गई हैं। ज्यादातर निर्माण दिखावटी हैं लेकिन युद्ध स्थितियों को ध्यान में रखकर यह सब किया गया है। इसमें हेलीकॉप्टर और जहाजों से जमीन और पानी में दुश्मनों की खोज का अभ्यास भी किया जा रहा है। जहाज फारस की खाड़ी में अभ्यास कर रहे हैं।

करूर व्यास बैंक ने करूर जिले में प्री-पेड कार्ड Enkasu’ लॉन्च किया

• भारत सरकार की डिजिटल पहल के अनुरूप, करूर व्यास बैंक ने जिले में नकदी के उपयोग को कम करने के लिए करूर में Enkasu’’नाम से एक प्री-पेड कार्ड लॉन्च किया है।

• बैंक ने नकदी की आवश्यकता को दूर करने के लिए अपने कैश मूवमेंट के तहत Enkasu कार्ड लॉन्च किया है, यह व्यापारियों और ग्राहकों दोनों के लिए समान रूप से फायदेमंद होगा।

• Enkasu’ अर्ध बंद लूप में नियर फील्ड कम्युनिकेशन टेक्नोलॉजी पर काम करता है।

समीर अग्रवाल बेस्ट प्राइस, वॉलमार्ट इंडिया के अगले सीईओ होंगे। वह कृष अय्यर की जगह लेंगे और अगले एक अप्रैल से अपना कार्यभार संभाल लेंगे। वॉलमार्ट इंडिया से मिली जानकारी के मुताबिक समीर अग्रवाल सीधे डर्क वान डेन बेर्घे को रिपोर्ट करेंगे, जो एशिया व ग्लोबल सोर्सिंग के रीजनल सीईओ और एग्जिक्युटिव वाइस प्रेजिडेंट हैं।

कृष अय्यर पूर्णकालिक प्रबंधन से सेवानिवृत्ति ले रहे हैं और अब बेस्ट प्राइस, वॉलमार्ट इंडिया के सलाहकार की भूमिका निभाएंगे। अग्रवाल अप्रैल 2018 में वॉलमार्ट इंडिया से एग्जिक्युटिव वाइस प्रेजिडेंट के तौर पर जुड़े थे। उन्होंने इस दौरान रणनीति एवं प्रशासन का काम संभाला तथा जनवरी 2020 में पदोन्नति प्राप्त कर डिप्टी सीईओ बने।

समीर अग्रवाल के सीईओ बन जाने के बाद भी कृष अय्यर 30 जून तक अग्रवाल के साथ काम करते रहेंगे। ऐसा इसलिए, ताकि अपना पूर्ण दायित्व उन्हें सौंप सकें। इसके बाद वह सलाहकार के नाते कंपनी से जुड़े रहेंगे।

• BJP politician Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been appointed as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on March 23, 2020. He has been appointed for the fourth time.

• This comes after the Madhya Pradesh chief minister (ex) Kamal Nath resigned from his post on March 20, 2020, as his government fell short of the majority mark.

• The trigger of the downfall of Congress in Madhya Pradesh was Jyotiraditya M. Scindia leaving the Congress on 11 March, taking with him 22 MLAs.

IOC becomes 1st company to begin supply of BS-VI fuel across India

• India’s biggest oil firm, Indian Oil Corporation Limited has started supplying BS-VI fuel across India. With this, Indian Oil Corporation Limited has become 1st company to begin supply of BS-VI fuel across its 28,000 petrol pumps.

• The Government of India has set 01st April 2020 as the deadline to start the supply of BS-VI emission compliant fuels. Therefore, from 01st April 2020, India will become the part of select league of nations which are using cleanest petrol and diesel across the country to cut vehicular emissions.

India-Belgium extradition agreement

• The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the signing of Extradition Treaty between India and Belgium.

• The new treaty between India and Belgium will replace the pre-independence treaty signed between Britain and Belgium in the year 1901, which was also applicable to India before independence.

• According to the treaty, each party consents to the extradition of a person from the other party who is accused of an extradition offence in the border area of his or her country.

UBS predicts India’s FY21 real GDP growth rate at 4%

• UBS Securities has cut India’s growth forecast for FY21 to 4% from the previous 5.1%. The decrease is due to the coronavirus outbreak.

• UBS predicts India to grow at 4.8% in FY20.

S&P predicts Indias GDP growth forecast for FY21 at 5.2%; FY22- 6.9%; FY23 and FY24 at 7%

• S&P Global Ratings has revised its GDP Growth rate projection for India for FY21 from 6.5% earlier to 5.2%. This is due to the coronavirus outbreak.

• The GDP projection for the following financial years as per S&P is as follows:

• 2021-22 (FY22)- 6.9%

• 2022-23 (FY23)- 7%

• 2023-24 (FY24)- 7%.

India ranked 120 in the 2020 Index of Economic Freedom

• India has been ranked at 120 position in the 2020 Index of Economic Freedom published by Heritage Foundation Index. The index has been topped by Singapore.

• Hong Kong is on second in the ranking followed by New Zealand on the third. North Korea is at the last position at 180th place. Though there are 6 countries that are not ranked.

• The Index was first published in 1995 and Hong Kong has topped the charts ever since. This is the first time that Hong Kong has been replaced from the 1st position.

भारत में IOC, BS-VI ईंधन की आपूर्ति करने वाली होगी पहली कंपनी

भारत की सबसे बड़ी तेल कंपनी इंडियन ऑयल कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड ने पूरे देश में BS-VI ईंधन की आपूर्ति करना शुरू कर दिया है। इसके साथ ही इंडियन ऑयल कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड अपने 28,000 पेट्रोल पंपों पर BS-VI ईंधन की आपूर्ति शुरू करने वाली भारत की पहली कंपनी बन गई है। सरकार ने BS-VI उत्सर्जन अनुरूप ईंधन की आपूर्ति शुरू करने की समय सीमा 01 अप्रैल 2020 निर्धारित की है। भारत 01 अप्रैल 2020 से उन देशों चुनिंदा के ग्रुप में शामिल हो जाएगा उत्सर्जन में कटौती करने के लिए देश भर में वाहनों के लिए सबसे स्वच्छ पेट्रोल और डीजल का उपयोग कर रहे हैं। दिल्ली में यह समय सीमा अप्रैल 2019 तक भारत सरकार द्वारा लगाई गई थी।

BS (Bharat Satge) -VI ग्रेड ईंधन दुनिया का सबसे साफ ईंधन है जिसमें सल्फर का प्रति मिलियन 10 हिस्सा है। भारत स्टेज- VI (BS-VI) में केवल 10 पीपीएम की सल्फर मात्रा है और जो उत्सर्जन मानक सीएनजी के समान अच्छे हैं। भारत में 01 अप्रैल, 2020 से वाहनों के उत्सर्जन की जांच करने के प्रयास में इसे अनिवार्य कर दिया गया है, जो प्रमुख शहरों में प्रदूषण के प्रमुख कारणों में से एक है।

मोदी सरकार ने बेल्जियम के साथ प्रत्यर्पण संधि के प्रस्ताव को दी स्वीकृति

केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने भारत और बेल्जियम के बीच प्रस्तावित प्रत्यर्पण संधि पर मुहर लगा दी। इस संधि के अमल में आने से दोनों देश अपने यहां अपराध करके फरार हुए भगोड़ों को एक-दूसरे को सौंप सकेंगे। कैबिनेट ने यह निर्णय शुक्रवार को लिया, शनिवार को इसकी घोषणा हुई है।

प्रत्यर्पण संधि में उन्हीं अपराधों के आरोपियों को लिया-दिया जाता है जिनके लिए कानून में एक साल या इससे अधिक की सजा का प्रावधान होता है। संधि में शामिल देश की अदालत प्रत्यर्पण की अर्जी पर विचार करने के बाद फैसला किया।
