United States officially re-joins Paris Climate Agreement

•The United States has officially rejoined the Paris Agreement, under the Presidency of US President Joe Biden. Earlier, in November 2020, the US had officially exited the agreement on the order of then-President Donald Trump.

•The landmark Paris climate agreement was signed in 2015, as per which countries are expected to enhance their commitments to curb greenhouse gas emissions every five years. The goals of the global pact are to limit global warming to well below 2°C and pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C.

PM Modi inaugurates Oil & Gas projects in Assam

•Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated to the nation INDMAX Unit at Indian Oil’s Bongaigaon Refinery, Oil India Limited's Secondary Tank Farm at Madhuban, Dibrugarh, and a Gas Compressor Station at Hebeda Village, Makum, Tinsukia remotely from Dhemaji in Assam. He also inaugurated the Dhemaji Engineering College and laid the foundation stone for Sualkuchi Engineering College in Assam.

•INDMAX Unit at Indian Oil’s Bongaigaon Refinery

•Oil India Limited’s Secondary Tank Farm at Madhuban, Dibrugarh – Rs 490 crore

•Gas Compressor Station at Hebeda Village, Makum, Tinsukia – Rs 132 Crore

Dr Harsh Vardhan launches Mission Indradhanush 3.0

•Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr Harsh Vardhan has launched the Intensified Mission Indradhanush 3.0, (IMI 3.0), to expand immunization coverage across the country. The focus of IMI 3.0 will be on children and pregnant women who missed their vaccine doses during the COVID-19 pandemic.

•The IMI 3.0 will have two rounds, of 15 days each.

•The first round will begin on February 22, 2021, and the second round will begin on March 22, 2021.

•The vaccination drive will be conducted in pre-identified 250 districts and urban areas across 29 States and UTs in the country to reach out to every dropped out and left out the child and pregnant woman.

L&T delivers 100th K9 Vajra howitzer to Indian Army

•Army Chief Gen Manoj Naravane has flagged off the 100th K9 Vajra tracked self-propelled howitzer built by Larsen & Toubro (L&T) at its armoured system complex at Hazira in Gujarat. L&T had completed the delivery of all the howitzers under the contract awarded in May 2017 ahead of schedule.

•The K9 Vajra programme involved the delivery of 100 howitzers with associated engineering support package covering spares, system documentation and training. It also involves the maintenance transfer of technology to an army base workshop to support the howitzers throughout their operational life cycle.

Assam CM lays foundation of first skill university of eastern India

•The Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal has laid the foundation of the first skill university of eastern India in Darrang district in Assam. The state-of-the-art skill university would be built with a financial outlay of Rs 1,000 crore.

•It will impart training to over 10,000 students in 12 disciplines. The university is expected to be completed by 2026. It will have “understandings” with countries like Germany, Taiwan, South Korea, Israel, Japan, England.

Prakash Javadekar inaugurates Atal Paryavaran Bhavan in Lakshadweep

•The Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Prakash Javadekar, inaugurated the Atal Paryavaran Bhavan at Lakshadweep. Prakash Javadekar is on a four-day official visit to Lakshadweep from February 19 to 22, 2021.

•During the visit, the minister attended high-level meetings with the Secretaries of various departments in the Lakshadweep administration, participated in various official programmes at Suheli, Kadmat and Bangaram islands. The minister will also evaluate the major innovative initiatives of the Union Territory’s Forest and Environment Department, so that Lakshadweep undergoes comprehensive development, without compromising it’s commitment to nature.

Kerala Government sanctions Rs. 9 crore to build 48 ‘Smart’ Anganwadis

•The state government of Kerala has sanctioned Rs. 9 crores to build ‘smart anganwadis’, by converting the conventional anganwadis into “smart” structures with better amenities. The state Department of Women and Child Development has given permission for 48 anganwadis in the state to construct new buildings under the Smart Anganwadi scheme.

•These smart anganwadis are being designed and constructed as part of the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS).

•These ‘smart anganwadis’ will provide early childhood care by making the facility more child-friendly to nurture the mental and physical development of children.

•It is expected to have various amenities, ranging from study hall, kitchen, dining area, storeroom, creative zone, garden to swimming pool and outdoor play area as per the availability of land.

Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy Resigns

•The Chief Minister of the Union Territory of Puducherry, V Narayanasamy has submitted the letter of his resignation and his council of ministers on February 22, 2021, to Lieutenant Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan. The decision was taken as the Congress-led Government in the UT lost its majority in the House, which is 14.

•Following a series of resignations, the ruling government was reduced to a strength of 12. Two MLA resigned in January 2021 while 2 resigned in February 2021.

India & Ethiopia Sign Agreements On Visa Facilitation and Leather Technology

•India and Ethiopia signed two agreements related to visa facilitation and leather technology. The Ethiopia Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen Hassen is on a 4-day visit to India to hold useful and productive discussions on a range of bilateral and regional issues.

•During the course of meetings, India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Ethiopian minister Hassen agreed to expand India and Ethiopia bilateral agenda especially defence, economic, S&T, digital and cultural cooperation.

India & Maldives sign 5 deals to boost infrastructure

•External Affairs Minister (EAM), S. Jaishankar was on a two-day official visit to the archipelago nation the Maldives to review bilateral ties and development cooperation. During this visit, Mr S Jaishankar handed over 1 lakh additional doses of the made-in-India COVID-19 vaccine to the Maldives. With this, the total Covid vaccine doses gifted by India for the Maldives reaches two lakh. Jaishankar also offered a $40-million line of credit (LoC) to support the development of sports infrastructure in the Maldives.

•Amendatory Agreement to repurpose an older EXIM Bank of India Line of Credit of USD 25 million for Road Devt.

•Letter of Intent between EXIM Bank and local authorities for financing a housing project of 2000 units in Hulhumale.

•MoU on grant funding USD 0.5 million for a fish processing plant in Kendhikulhudhoo in the northern Maldives.

•MoU on capacity building and exchange of content and expertise between Prasar Bharati and Public State Media, Maldives.

•MoU on sustainable urban development between MoHUA and Ministry of national planning, housing and infrastructure, Maldives.

Vice President releases ‘Maverick Messiah’, a political biography on NTR

•Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has released “Maveric Messiah”, a political biography on former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao authored by senior journalist Ramesh Kandula.

•NTR was ranked among the top pioneers of ‘alternative politics’. His entry into politics and ‘dramatic’ success within about nine months of floating a regional party gave a new direction to national politics.

RBI brings State Bank of Sikkim under its regulatory purview

•The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has brought the State Bank of Sikkim under its regulation. Till now, RBI had the right and obligation to function as a banker to all the state government except for the state government of Sikkim. Now the bank will be regulated by the RBI on a par with other banks, however, the bank’s ownership structure will not change.

•The State Bank of Sikkim was established as an autonomous body wholly owned by the Government of Sikkim, in the year 1968, five years before Sikkim became part of India in 1973.

•It was established under the State Bank of Sikkim Proclamation, 1968.

•The bank provides treasury operations for the state government and operates only within the jurisdiction of Sikkim.

•The bank currently has 42 branch offices and operates three revenue counters for government works.

पेरिस जलवायु समझौते में अमेरिका की आधिकारिक तौर पर वापसी

•अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति जो बिडेन की अध्यक्षता में संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने आधिकारिक रूप से पेरिस समझौते (Paris Agreement) में वापसी की है। इससे पहले, नवंबर 2020 में, अमेरिका ने तत्कालीन राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प के आदेश पर समझौते को आधिकारिक रूप से छोड़ दिया था।

•2015 में लैंडमार्क पेरिस जलवायु समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए थे, जिसके अनुसार देशों को हर पांच साल में ग्रीनहाउस गैस उत्सर्जन पर अंकुश लगाने के लिए अपनी प्रतिबद्धताओं को बढ़ाने की उम्मीद है। वैश्विक संधि का लक्ष्य ग्लोबल वार्मिंग को 2°C से कम और 1.5°C तक सीमित करने का प्रयास करना है।

पीएम मोदी ने असम में किया तेल और गैस परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन

•प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने इंडियन आयल की बोंगाईगाँव रिफाइनरी में राष्ट्र INDMAX यूनिट, मधुबन, डिब्रूगढ़ में ऑयल इंडिया लिमिटेड के सेकेंडरी टैंक फार्म और असम के धेमाजी से दूर हेबड़ा गाँव, मकुम, तिनसुकिया में गैस कंप्रेसर स्टेशन को समर्पित किया है। उन्होंने धेमाजी इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज का भी उद्घाटन किया और असम में सौअल्कुची इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज की आधारशिला रखी।

डॉ. हर्षवर्धन ने किया मिशन इन्द्रधनुष 3.0 का शुभारंभ

•केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्री डॉ. हर्षवर्धन ने देश भर में टीकाकरण कवरेज का विस्तार करने के लिए समग्र मिशन इन्द्रधनुष 3.0 अभियान (Intensified Mission Indradhanush 3.0) का शुभारंभ किया। IMI 3.0 का उद्देश्य उन बच्चों और गर्भवती महिलाओं को कवर करना है, जो COVID-19 महामारी के कारण अपने टीके की खुराक नहीं ले सकीं थी।

•IMI 3.0 के दो राउंड होंगे, जिनमें से प्रत्येक 15 दिनों का होगा।

•पहला राउंड 22 फरवरी, 2021 से शुरू होगा जबकि दूसरा 22 मार्च, 2021 से शुरू होगा।

•टीकाकरण अभियान देश के 28 राज्यों और केंद्रशासित प्रदेशों के पूर्व चिन्हित 250 जिलों और शहरी क्षेत्रों में संचालित किया जाएगा ताकि हर बच्चे और गर्भवती महिला को इसकी खुराक दी जा सके।

L&T ने भारतीय सेना को सौंपा 100 वां K9 वज्र होवित्जर

•सेना प्रमुख जनरल मनोज नरवाने ने गुजरात के हजीरा में बख्तरबंद सिस्टम कॉम्प्लेक्स में लार्सन एंड टुब्रो (L & T) द्वारा निर्मित 100वां K9 वज्र ट्रैक स्व-चालित होवित्जर को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। L&T ने मई 2017 में तय किए गए अनुबंध के तहत सभी होवित्जर की डिलीवरी तय समय से पहले पूरी कर ली थी।

•K9 वज्र कार्यक्रम में संबद्ध इंजीनियरिंग सहायता पैकेज के साथ 100 होवित्जर की डिलीवरी शामिल है, जिसमें पुर्जों, सिस्टम प्रलेखन और प्रशिक्षण शामिल हैं। इसमें होवित्जर को अपने परिचालन जीवन चक्र के दौरान समर्थन करने के लिए सेना के आधार कार्यशाला में प्रौद्योगिकी के रखरखाव का स्थानांतरण भी शामिल है।

असम सीएम ने रखी पूर्वी भारत के पहले कौशल विश्वविद्यालय की नींव

•असम के मुख्यमंत्री सर्बानंद सोनोवाल ने असम में दर्रांग जिले में पूर्वी भारत के पहले कौशल विश्वविद्यालय की नींव रखी। अत्याधुनिक कौशल विश्वविद्यालय 1,000 करोड़ रुपये के वित्तीय परिव्यय के साथ बनाया जाएगा।

•यह 12 विषयों में 10,000 से अधिक छात्रों को प्रशिक्षण प्रदान करेगा। विश्वविद्यालय के 2026 तक पूरा होने की उम्मीद है। इसका जर्मनी, ताइवान, दक्षिण कोरिया, इज़राइल, जापान, इंग्लैंड जैसे देशों के साथ "समझौता" होगा।

प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने लक्षद्वीप में किया अटल पर्यावरण भवन का उद्घाटन

•केंद्रीय पर्यावरण, वन और जलवायु परिवर्तन मंत्री, प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने लक्षद्वीप में अटल पर्यावरण भवन का उद्घाटन किया। प्रकाश जावड़ेकर 19 फरवरी से 22 फरवरी, 2021 तक लक्षद्वीप की चार दिवसीय आधिकारिक यात्रा पर हैं।

•यात्रा के दौरान, मंत्री ने लक्षद्वीप प्रशासन में विभिन्न विभागों के सचिवों के साथ उच्च-स्तरीय बैठकों, सुहेली, कदमत और बांगरम द्वीपों में विभिन्न आधिकारिक कार्यक्रमों में भाग लिया। मंत्री केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के वन और पर्यावरण विभाग की प्रमुख अभिनव पहलों का मूल्यांकन भी करेंगे, ताकि प्रकृति के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता के बिना लक्षद्वीप व्यापक विकास से गुजर सके।

केरल सरकार ने 48 'स्मार्ट’ आंगनवाड़ियों के निर्माण के लिए 9 करोड़ रु की मंजूरी दी

•केरल की राज्य सरकार ने पारंपरिक आंगनवाड़ियों को बेहतर सुविधाओं के साथ “स्मार्ट” संरचनाओं में परिवर्तित करके 'स्मार्ट आंगनवाड़ियां' बनाने के लिए 9 करोड़ रुपये मंजूर किए हैं। राज्य के महिला और बाल विकास विभाग ने राज्य में 48 आंगनवाड़ियों को स्मार्ट आंगनवाड़ी योजना के तहत नए भवन बनाने की अनुमति दी है।

•इन स्मार्ट आंगनवाड़ियों को एकीकृत बाल विकास योजना (ICDS) के हिस्से के रूप में डिजाइन और निर्माण किया जा रहा है।

•ये 'स्मार्ट आंगनवाड़ियाँ' बच्चों के मानसिक और शारीरिक विकास को पोषित करने के लिए सुविधा को अधिक बाल-सुलभ बनाकर बचपन की देखभाल प्रदान करेंगी।

•भूमि की उपलब्धता के अनुसार, अध्ययन कक्ष, रसोई, भोजन क्षेत्र, भंडार कक्ष, रचनात्मक क्षेत्र, उद्यान से लेकर स्विमिंग पूल और बाहरी खेल क्षेत्र तक विभिन्न सुविधाओं के होने की उम्मीद है।

पुडुचेरी के मुख्यमंत्री वी नारायणसामी इस्तीफा दिया

•केंद्र शासित प्रदेश पुदुचेरी के मुख्यमंत्री वी नारायणसामी ने 22 फरवरी, 2021 को अपना और अपने मंत्रिपरिषद का त्याग पत्र उपराज्यपाल तमिलिसै सौंदरराजन को सौंप दिया है। यूटी में कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व वाली सरकार ने सदन में बहुमत खो दिया, जो कि 14 है।

•इस्तीफे की एक श्रृंखला के बाद, सत्तारूढ़ सरकार की स्ट्रेंथ 12 तक सीमित कर दी गई है। दो विधायक ने जनवरी 2021 में इस्तीफा दिया था, जबकि 2 ने फरवरी 2021 में इस्तीफा दे दिया है।

वीजा सुविधा और चमड़ा प्रौद्योगिकी पर भारत और इथियोपिया ने किया समझौता

•भारत और इथियोपिया ने वीजा सुविधा और चमड़ा प्रौद्योगिकी से संबंधित दो समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए। इथियोपिया के उप प्रधान मंत्री और विदेश मंत्री, डेमेके मेकोनन हसेन द्विपक्षीय और क्षेत्रीय मुद्दों की एक श्रृंखला पर उपयोगी और उत्पादक विचार-विमर्श करने के लिए 4 दिन की भारत यात्रा पर हैं।

•बैठकों के दौरान, भारत के विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर और इथियोपियाई मंत्री हसेन ने रक्षा, अर्थव्यवस्था, एस एंड टी, डिजिटल और सांस्कृतिक सहयोग के संबंध में भारत और इथियोपिया द्विपक्षीय एजेंडा का विस्तार करने पर भी सहमति व्यक्त की।

इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर को बढ़ावा देने के लिए भारत और मालदीव ने किए 5 सौदों पर हस्ताक्षर

•विदेश मंत्री (EAM), एस जयशंकर द्विपक्षीय संबंधों और विकास सहयोग की समीक्षा करने के लिए द्वीपसमूह राष्ट्र मालदीव के दो दिवसीय आधिकारिक दौरे पर थे। इस यात्रा के दौरान, श्री एस जयशंकर ने मालदीव को भारत-निर्मित COVID-19 वैक्सीन की 1 लाख अतिरिक्त खुराक सौंपी। इसके साथ, मालदीव के लिए भारत द्वारा उपहार में दिए गए कुल कोविड टीकों की संख्या दो लाख तक पहुंच गई है। जयशंकर ने मालदीव में खेल इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर के विकास का समर्थन करने के लिए $40 मिलियन की लाइन ऑफ क्रेडिट (LoC) की भी पेशकश की।

भारत और मालदीव के बीच पांच समझौते इनमें शामिल हैं:

•रोड डेवलपमेंट के लिए 25 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर के पुराने EXIM बैंक ऑफ़ इंडिया लाइन ऑफ़ क्रेडिट पर पुनर्विचार करने के लिए संशोधित समझौता।

•हुलहुमले में 2000 इकाइयों की एक आवास परियोजना के वित्तपोषण के लिए एक्जिम बैंक और स्थानीय अधिकारियों के बीच समझौता।

•उत्तरी मालदीव में केंदिकुल्हुधु में मछली प्रसंस्करण संयंत्र के लिए 0.5 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर के अनुदान पर समझौता ज्ञापन।

•प्रसार भारती और सार्वजनिक राज्य मीडिया, मालदीव के बीच क्षमता निर्माण और सामग्री तथा विशेषज्ञता के आदान-प्रदान पर समझौता ज्ञापन।

•MoHUA और राष्ट्रीय योजना, आवास और बुनियादी ढांचा मंत्रालय, मालदीव के बीच सतत शहरी विकास पर समझौता ज्ञापन।

(RBI) ने भारतीय स्टेट बैंक को अपने नियमन के तहत सिक्किम में लाया

•भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (RBI) ने भारतीय स्टेट बैंक को अपने नियमन के तहत सिक्किम में लाया है। अब तक, RBI को सिक्किम की राज्य सरकार को छोड़कर सभी राज्य सरकार को बैंकर के रूप में कार्य करने का अधिकार और दायित्व था। अब बैंक को अन्य बैंकों के बराबर रिजर्व बैंक द्वारा विनियमित किया जाएगा, हालांकि, बैंक का स्वामित्व ढांचा नहीं बदलेगा।

•सिक्किम सरकार के स्वामित्व में पूर्ण रूप से एक स्वायत्त निकाय के रूप में स्टेट बैंक ऑफ सिक्किम की स्थापना की गई थी।

PM to inaugurate Summit RAISE 2020- ‘Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020’

• Prime Minister will inaugurate a mega virtual summit on Artificial Intelligence RAISE 2020- ‘Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020’ on October 5, 2020, at 7 PM.

• According to an official release from PMO, the mega virtual summit will be organised by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and NITI Aayog on October 5-9, 2020.

• The release also informed that PM plans on leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) for inclusive development, representing India’s ‘AI for ALL’ strategy in the spirit for Sabka Saath Sabka Vikaas.

NABARD launches refinance scheme for WASH programme, earmarks Rs 800 cr for FY’21

• In a bid to promote sustainable and healthy lifestyle in rural areas, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) announced a special refinance facility to support the government”s Water, Sanitisation and Hygiene (WASH) programme.

• An amount of Rs 800 crore has been earmarked for this purpose for the financial year 2020-21.

• NABARD will provide concessional refinance to all eligible financial institutions, including commercial banks, regional rural banks and cooperative banks, with a repayment period of up to 36 months.

Robert Lewandowski wins UEFA Player of the Year award

• The Polish forward scored 15 goals on the way to Bayern Munich’s sixth Champions League title, hitting the target in every match before the final except a group game against Tottenham Hotspur when he was rested.

• Other players in consideration were Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

• He also fired 34 goals in 31 Bundesliga matches and six in five German Cup games, helping Bayern win both competitions

• The German champions’ manager Hansi Flick won UEFA’s coach of the year of the award.

Warburg Pincus invests Rs 700 cr to acquire stake in Home First Finance

• Home First Finance, True North-backed affordable housing finance firm, said it has entered into an agreement with Warburg Pincus-affiliate Orange Clove Investments BV for an investment of Rs 700 cr.

• The investment is a combination of primary fund raise and secondary sales by existing shareholders.

• As of March 31, 2020, Home First had an asset under management (AUM) of Rs 3,618 crore with a net worth of Rs 933 crore and a gross non-performing asset of 0.87 per cent.

Reliance develops RT-PCR kit that gives C-19 results in 2 hours

• Reliance Life Sciences has developed an RT-PCR (real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) kit that will be able to diagnose C-19 infection in just about 2 hours.

• The computational biologists as Reliance Life Sciences, which is a subsidiary of billionaire Mukesh Ambani- run Reliance Industries Ltd., had analyzed more than 100 genomes of SARS-CoV-2 sequenced in the country and had designed unique RT-PCR primers for developing the qualitative RT-PCR kit for C-19 detection.

• Currently, the test for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from SARS-CoV-2 takes up to 24 hours for the results.

• In Shooting, India’s Visnu Shivaraj Pandian has won the 10m air rifle event at the fifth edition of the International Online Shooting Championship held on 3rd October 2020.

• प्रधान मंत्री 5 अक्टूबर, 2020 को शाम 7 बजे आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस RAISE 2020- ‘Responsible AI for Social Empowerment 2020’ पर एक मेगा वर्चुअल शिखर सम्मेलन का उद्घाटन करेंगे।

• PMO की एक आधिकारिक विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार, मेगा वर्चुअल शिखर सम्मेलन 5-9 अक्टूबर, 2020 को इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय (MeitY) और NITI Aayog द्वारा आयोजित किया जाएगा।

• विज्ञप्ति ने यह भी बताया कि पीएम ने समावेशी विकास के लिए आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस (एआई) का लाभ उठाने की योजना बनाई है, जो सबका साथ सबका विकास के लिए भावना में भारत की 'एआई फॉर ऑल' रणनीति का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है।

नबार्ड ने WASH कार्यक्रम के लिए शुरू की विशेष पुनर्वित्त सुविधा

• नेशनल बैंक फॉर एग्रीकल्चर एंड रूरल डेवलपमेंट (NABARD) ने वित्त वर्ष 2021 के लिए 800 करोड़ रुपये की विशेष पुनर्वित्त सुविधा की घोषणा की है। इस कोष के साथ NABARD भारत सरकार के जल, स्वच्छता और हाइजीन (WASH) कार्यक्रम का समर्थन करेगा।

• नाबार्ड 36 महीने तक की पुनर्भुगतान अवधि के लिए वाणिज्यिक बैंकों, क्षेत्रीय ग्रामीण बैंकों और सहकारी बैंकों सहित सभी पात्र वित्तीय संस्थानों को रियायती पुनर्वित्त प्रदान करेगा। सहयोग सफाई गतिविधियों को निधि देने के लिए चैनल किया जाएगा, जो 95% पुनर्वित्त के लिए एक थ्रस्ट क्षेत्र है। इसके अलावा NBFCs-MFI और अन्य MFI (सोसायटी, ट्रस्ट) के लिए बैंक क्रेडिट को भी बढ़ाया जाएगा।

• वारबर्ग पिन्कस ने सस्ते मकानों के लिए कर्ज देने वाली आवास वित्त कंपनी होम फर्स्ट फाइनेंस में 700 करोड़ रुपये का निवेश करने की घोषणा की है। ट्रू नॉर्थ समर्थित होम फर्स्ट फाइनेंस ने इस बारे में वारबर्ग से संबद्ध ऑरेंज क्लोव इन्वेस्टमेंट्स के साथ पक्का करा किया है। एक सूत्र ने बताया कि वैश्विक इक्विटी कंपनी वारबर्ग पिन्कस ने आवास वित्त कंपनी में 25 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी का अधिग्रहण किया है।

• इस सौदे से पहले ट्रू नॉर्थ के पास होम फर्स्ट की 45.97 प्रतिशत, एथर (मॉरीशस) के पास 30.65 प्रतिशत तथा बेसेमर इंडिया के पास 16.28 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी थी। इस सौदे में वारबर्ग का प्राथमिक निवेश 75 करोड़ रुपये का है।

• होम फर्स्ट की स्थापना 2010 में हुई थी। कंपनी की मौजूदगी 11 राज्यों और संघ शासित प्रदेशों के 60 जिलों में है। मुख्य रूप से कंपनी ने गुजरात, महाराष्ट्र, कर्नाटक और तमिलनाडु में कर्ज दिया है।

रिलायंस के RT-PCR kit से दो घंटे में मिलेगा C-19 टेस्ट का रिजल्ट

• मुकेश अंबानी (Mukeah Ambani) की स्वामित्व वाली रिलायंस लाइफ साइंसेज (Reliance Life Sciences) द्वारा बनाए गए आरटी-पीसीआर किट (RT-PCR kit ) से। रिलायंस ने एक ऐसी RT-PCR kit विकसित की है जो दो घंटे में ही C-19 की जांच का परिणाम दे देती है। मौजूदा वक्त में आरटी-पीसीआर किट से C-19 की जांच के परिणाम में करीब 24 घंटे का वक्त लग जाता है।

• रिलायंस लाइफ साइंसेज के वैज्ञानिकों ने देश में सार्स-कोव-2 (SARS-CoV-2) के 100 से ज्यादा जीनोम का विश्लेषण करने और इस आधुनिक आरटी-पीसीआर किट को विकसित किया। इस किट को विकसित करने में रियल टाइम में विषाणु के डीएनए (DNA) और आरएनए (RNA) का नकल कर उसकी जांच की गई। यह किट रियल टाइम में सार्स-कोव-2 में मौजूद न्यूक्लिक अम्ल की पहचान करता है, जिससे 2 घंटे में ही C-19 के संक्रमण का पता चल जाता है। रिलायंस ने इस किट को आरटी-ग्रीन किट (RT Green Kit) नाम दिया है।

Kerala’s first Mega Food Park inaugurated virtually

• Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare inaugurated Kerala’s first and nation’s twentieth mega food park in Palakkad district. The inauguration was conducted virtually through video conferencing.

• The Park will also provide direct and indirect employment to 5,000 persons and benefit about 25,000 farmers. This Mega Food Park has been set up in 79.42 acres of land at a project cost of Rs. 102.13 crore.

Tamil Nadu & Arunachal Pradesh integrated under One Nation One Ration Card Scheme

• Two more States, Tamil Nadu and Arunachal Pradesh have been integrated with existing national portability cluster of 26 States and UTs under One Nation One Ration Card.

• With this, a total of 28 States and UTs are now seamlessly connected with each other under the ‘ One Nation One Ration Card plan’, which aims to provide an option to all NFSA beneficiaries.

• The beneficiaries of these states can lift their entitled foodgrains under NFSA from any ePoS enabled Fair Price Shop of their choice anywhere in the country, by using their existing/same ration card with Aadhaar authentication on ePoS device.

National Institute Of Naturopathy’s Tribal Unit set up in Pune

• A 20-bed tribal unit of the National Institute of Naturopathy was inaugurated in Pune’s Ambegaon tehsil by Union AYUSH minister Shripad Naik. It would provide free clinical services to the tribal population in the area.

• A research unit on tribal practices for health maintenance had also been set up and it will be a “repository of knowledge and will work in areas of education, nutrition and health problems of the tribal population”.

Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Act, 2020 comes into force

• As per the Ministry of Home Affairs, the amended Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act came into force on 29 September 2020.

• The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Act, 2020 amends the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010.

• As per the amended law, furnishing of Aadhaar numbers by office-bearers of NGOs has become mandatory for registration. The Act also provides for reduction in administrative expenses of any NGO receiving foreign funding, from 50 per cent to 20 per cent of annual funds to ensure spending on their main objectives.

US commits USD 1.9 mn to India to support informal sector workers

• The United States has announced a financial aid of USD 1.9 million for India to support vulnerable populations like informal sector workers whose livelihoods have been disrupted due to C-19.

• The fund will be extended by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), to support efforts to rebuild local economies and improve the livelihoods of Indians who have been hit hardest by this pandemic.

India signs USD 90 million defence deal with US to buy spares for C-130J Super Hercules aircraft

• India and the United States have entered into a defence deal worth $90-million, wherein US would provide equipment, spare parts and logistical support for India’s fleet of C-130J Super Hercules cargo aircraft.

• As per the deal, the US will repair the C-130J Super Hercules to India, as well as supply spare part and ground support.

• India has also ordered an AN/ALR-56M advanced radar warning system, 10 lightweight night vision binoculars, 10-night vision glasses, GPS and electronic warfare to the US.

ICMR develops “Purified Antisera” as treatment

• The Indian Council of Medical Research has developed “Purified Antisera”. The antiserum has been obtained from animals. This is to be used as a prophylaxis and treatment for C-19.

• The new therapy works just like that of plasma therapy. But here the plasma is obtained from animals. Antiserum is blood-based serum that holds antibodies against viruses.

• In this new therapy, the serum is raised from horses that have recovered from viral infection and found to hold antibodies against the virus in their system.

केरल के पहले मेगा फूड पार्क का उद्घाटन किया गया

• केंद्रीय मंत्री नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर ने बृहस्पतिवार को केरल के पहले मेगा फूड पार्क का उद्घाटन किया, जो 5,000 प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष रोजगार उत्पन्न करने में मदद करेगा।

• ‘केंद्रीय कृषि और खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योग मंत्री और केरल के मुख्यमंत्री पिनाराई विजयन ने केरल के पलक्कड़ जिले में राज्य के पहले और देश के बीसवें मेगा फूड पार्क का उद्घाटन किया।’’ तोमर, जो ग्रामीण विकास और पंचायती राज मंत्री भी हैं, ने कहा कि मेगा फूड पार्क केरल में खाद्य प्रसंस्करण क्षेत्र के विकास में एक मील का पत्थर साबित होगा, ‘‘यह पार्क में स्थित 25-30 खाद्य प्रसंस्करण इकाइयों को लगभग 250 करोड़ रुपये के अतिरिक्त निवेश का लाभ देगा और अंततः इससे लगभग 450-500 करोड़ रुपये का सालाना कारोबार होगा।’’

• यह पार्क 5,000 व्यक्तियों को प्रत्यक्ष और अप्रत्यक्ष रोजगार भी प्रदान करेगा और लगभग 25,000 किसानों को लाभान्वित करेगा। केंद्रीय खाद्य प्रसंस्करण उद्योग राज्य मंत्री रामेश्वर तेली भी इस अवसर पर उपस्थित थे। देश के बीस मेगा फूड पार्क, केंद्र सरकार के सहयोग से खोले गए हैं, और सत्रह अन्य परियोजनाओं को भी मंजूरी दी गई है। केरल के अलप्पी जिले में एक पार्क को भी मंजूरी दी गई है।

अरुणाचल प्रदेश, तमिलनाडु ‘एक राष्ट्र, एक राशनकार्ड’ योजना में शामिल

• तमिलनाडु और अरुणाचल प्रदेश ‘एक राष्ट्र, एक राशनकार्ड’ योजना में शामिल हो गए हैं। इसके बाद इस योजना में शामिल हुए कुल राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों की संख्या 28 हो गयी है। सरकार ने बृहस्पतिवार को यह जानकारी दी। इस योजना के तहत, पात्र लाभार्थी राष्ट्रीय खाद्य सुरक्षा अधिनियम (एनएफएसए) के तहत अपने राशन कार्ड का उपयोग करके देश में किसी भी उचित मूल्य की दुकान से अपने हिस्से के खाद्यान्न को प्राप्त कर सकेंगे।

• ‘‘तमिलनाडु और अरुणाचल प्रदेश को मौजूदा राष्ट्रीय पोर्टेबिलिटी क्लस्टर के साथ एकीकृत किया गया है।’’ इसके साथ, इस योजना के तहत अब कुल 28 राज्य एवं केंद्र शासित प्रदेश बगैर किसी दिक्कत के परस्पर जुड़ गए हैं।

• शेष राज्यों को मार्च 2021 तक एकीकृत करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है। योजना में शामिल हुए 28 राज्य व केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों में : तमिलनाडु, अरुणाचल प्रदेश, आंध्र प्रदेश, बिहार, गोवा, गुजरात, हरियाणा, हिमाचल प्रदेश, झारखंड, केरल, कर्नाटक, मध्य प्रदेश, महाराष्ट्र, मिजोरम, ओडिशा, पंजाब, राजस्थान , सिक्किम, तेलंगाना, त्रिपुरा, उत्तर प्रदेश, जम्मू और कश्मीर, मणिपुर, नागालैंड, उत्तराखंड, लक्षद्वीप, लद्दाख, दादरा और नगर हवेली और दमन और दीव शामिल हैं।

नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ नेचुरोपैथी की ट्राइबल यूनिट पुणे में स्थापित की गई

• केंद्रीय आयुष मंत्री श्रीपाद नाइक द्वारा पुणे के अंबेगाँव तहसील में नेशनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ नेचुरोपैथी की 20 शयन वाली जनजातीय इकाई का उद्घाटन किया गया। यह क्षेत्र में आदिवासी आबादी को मुफ्त नैदानिक सेवाएं प्रदान करेगा।

• स्वास्थ्य रखरखाव के लिए आदिवासी प्रथाओं पर एक अनुसंधान इकाई भी स्थापित की गई थी और आदिवासी आबादी की शिक्षा, पोषण और स्वास्थ्य समस्याओं के क्षेत्रों में काम करेगा"।

• गृह मंत्रालय के अनुसार, 29 सितंबर 2020 को संशोधित विदेशी योगदान (विनियमन) अधिनियम लागू हुआ।

• विदेशी अंशदान (विनियमन) संशोधन अधिनियम, 2020 विदेशी अंशदान (विनियमन) अधिनियम, 2010 में संशोधन करता है।

• संशोधित कानून के अनुसार, गैर सरकारी संगठनों के पदाधिकारियों द्वारा आधार संख्या प्रस्तुत करना पंजीकरण के लिए अनिवार्य हो गया है। यह अधिनियम विदेशी धन प्राप्त करने वाले किसी भी गैर-सरकारी संगठन के प्रशासनिक खर्चों में कमी का प्रावधान करता है, जो अपने मुख्य उद्देश्यों पर खर्च सुनिश्चित करने के लिए वार्षिक धन का 50 प्रतिशत से 20 प्रतिशत तक है।

अमेरिका ने अनौपचारिक क्षेत्र के कामगारों का समर्थन करने के लिए भारत में 1.9 मिलियन डालर की वित्तीय सहायता की

• संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने भारत के लिए अनौपचारिक क्षेत्र के श्रमिकों की तरह कमजोर आबादी का समर्थन करने के लिए 1.9 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर की वित्तीय सहायता की घोषणा की है, जिनकी आजीविका सी -19 के कारण बाधित हो गई है।

• भारत और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने 90 मिलियन डॉलर मूल्य के रक्षा सौदे में प्रवेश किया है, जिसमें अमेरिका C-130J सुपर हरक्यूलिस कार्गो विमान के भारत के बेड़े के लिए उपकरण, स्पेयर पार्ट्स और रसद समर्थन प्रदान करेगा।

• सौदे के अनुसार, अमेरिका भारत को C-130J सुपर हरक्यूलिस की मरम्मत करेगा, साथ ही स्पेयर पार्ट और ग्राउंड सपोर्ट भी देगा।

ICMR ने एंटी-सिरम (“Purified Antisera”) विकसित किया

• इंडियन काउंसिल ऑफ मेडिकल रिसर्च (ICMR) और बॉयलॉजिक ई. लिमिटेड, हैदराबाद (Biological E. Limited, Hyderabad) ने साथ मिलकर एक विशेष तरह का एंटी-सिरम (Antisera) विकसित किया है जो C-19 के इलाज में कारगर हो सकता है ये एंटी-सिरम अभी जानवरों में विकसित किया गया है।

• वैज्ञानिकों ने किसी बाहरी बैक्टीरिया या वायरस से लड़ने के लिए जरूरी एंटीबॉडी तैयार की है। यह अविष्कार इसलिए ज्यादा महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि यह C-19 संक्रमण के बाद इलाज के लिए ही नहीं बल्कि संक्रमण से बचाव के लिए भी इस्तेमाल (prophylaxis and treatment of C-19) की जाएगी।

• The Assam Cabinet has approved the Assam Skill Development University Bill which allows for setting up a state-of-the-art skill University at Mangaldoi in Darrang district of Assam.

• The University at Mangaldoi will be the Centre of Excellence and first ever Skill University in north eastern states of the country. It will be spread over 100-bigha plot.

• The total cost of setting up the University is estimated at Rs 900 crore with financial assistance from the Asian Development Bank.

Kerala to set up India’s First International Women’s Trade Centre

• Biju Prabhakar, IAS, Secretary, Department of Social Justice, Women & Child Development announced that Kerala will set up India’s First International Women Trade Centre(IWTC) in accord with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations(UN) at Angamaly, Kochi, Kerala.

• This announcement was made during the webinar on “Scaling up Opportunities for MSME women Entrepreneurs in Kerala” organised by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(FICCI) Kerala State Council.

World War II Spy Becomes First Indian-origin Woman to Get Memorial Plaque in London

• Britain’s World War II spy, Noor Inayat Khan, became the first Indian-origin woman to be honoured with a memorial Blue Plaque at her former family home in central London.

• The veteran athletics coach Purshottam Rai has passed away due to a cardiac arrest on 28 August 2020. He was 79.

• Rai was to be conferred the prestigious Dronacharya Award in the lifetime category on 29 August 2020, on the ocassion of the National Sports Day.

• Rai is known for providing coaching top athletes such as Olympian quarter miler Vandana Rao, hept athlete Pramila Aiyappa, Ashwini Nachappa, Murali Kuttan, MK Asha, EB Shyla, Rosa Kutty and GG Pramila.

• Gail Sheehy, the journalist, commentator and pop sociologist whose best-selling Passages helped millions navigate their lives from early adulthood to middle age and beyond, has died in Southampton, New York. She was 83.

• She has written nearly 17 books, the most prominent and influential was “Passages” (1976), which examined the predictable crises of adult life and how to use them as opportunities for creative change.

Former Supreme Court Judge Justice A.R. Lakshmanan passes away

• Former Supreme Court judge Justice, A.R. Lakshmanan passed away. He was born in Devakottai in Sivaganga district, Tamil Nadu on March 22, 1942.

• He was appointed as the supreme court judge on December 20, 2002 and retired on March 22, 2007.

• Currently he was the sitting representative of Tamil Nadu in the Mullai Periyar Panel headed by Justice A.S.Anand.

• असम मंत्रिमंडल ने असम कौशल विकास विश्वविद्यालय विधेयक को मंजूरी दे दी है जो असम के दरंग जिले में मंगलदोई में एक अत्याधुनिक कौशल विश्वविद्यालय स्थापित करने की अनुमति देता है।

• मंगलदोई विश्वविद्यालय देश के उत्तर पूर्वी राज्यों में उत्कृष्टता का केंद्र और पहली बार कौशल विश्वविद्यालय होगा। इसे 100 बीघा भूखंड में फैलाया जाएगा।

• इंग्लिश हैरिटेज धर्मार्थ संगठन द्वारा संचालित ‘ब्लू प्लाक’ योजना प्रख्यात लोगों और संगठनों को सम्मानित करता है जो लंदन में किसी खास भवन से जुड़े होते हैं। खान की पट्टिका ब्लूम्सबरी में 4 टैविटोन स्ट्रीट पर पहुंची जहां वह 1943 में नाजी के कब्जे वाले फ्रांस के लिए रवाना होने से पहले रहती थीं।

• वह ब्रिटेन के स्पेशल ऑपरेशन्स एक्जिक्यूटिव (एसओई) के लिए अंडरकवर रेडियो संचालक के तौर पर वहां गईं थी। नूर, भारतीय सूफी संत हजरत इनायत खान की बेटी एवं 18वीं सदी के मैसूर के शासक टीपू सुल्तान की वंशज थीं जिनकी 1944 में दचाउ यातना शिविर में हत्या कर दी गई थी।

एसबीआई की एचआर पहल ‘नयी दिशा’ को वैश्विक मान्यता

• सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उपक्रम भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (एसबीआई) ने शुक्रवार को कहा कि उसकी मानव संसाधन (एचआर) पहल ‘नयी दिशा’ को वैश्विक मान्यता मिली है। बैंक ने कहा डेढ़ साल के समय में यह पहल 2.40 लाख कर्मचारियों तक पहुंच गई है।

• एसबीआई ने बयान में कहा कि उसे तीन ब्रैंडन हॉल ऑफ एक्सिलेंस अवॉर्ड मिले हैं। इन्हें सीखने, समझने और विकास का अकादमी पुरस्कार कहा जाता है।

• बैंक ने कहा कि उसे ऐसे सर्वश्रेष्ठ संगठन के रूप में मान्यता मिली है जिसने सफलतापूर्वक कार्यक्रम, रणनीतियां, तौर-तरीके, प्रक्रियाएं और प्रणालियां लागू कर नतीजे हासिल किए हैं।

• एसबीआई के चेयरमैन रजनीश कुमार ने कहा कि नयी दिशा के जरिये एसबीआई ने ग्राहक सेवाओं में विशिष्टता के लिए श्रमबल की प्रतिबद्धता को मान्यता दी है। इन कर्मचारियों ने देश के दूरदराज के क्षेत्रों में भी उत्साहपूर्वक काम किया है।

• पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी ने 25 साल के बाद यह इतिहास दोहराया है। इसे पहले पीयू ने साल 1994-95 और 1995 -96 में लगातार दो बार माका ट्रॉफी पर कब्जा किया था। पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी लगातार 15 बार इस ट्रॉफी को जीत चुकी है।

• इस साल पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी ने 11,582 अंक हासिल कर पहला स्थान किया, जबकि दूसरे स्थान पर गुरू नानक देव यूनिवर्सिटी (10,515) रही। तीसरे स्थान पर पंजाबी यूनिवर्सिटी पटियाला (8,145) रही।

• भारत के पूर्व एथलेटिक कोच पुरुषोत्तम राय का निधन। पूर्व कोच भारत में किसी कोच को दिए जाने सर्वोच्च खेल पुरस्कार द्रोणाचार्य पुरस्कार लेने से कुछ घंटे पहले निधन हो गया। वह एथलेटिक्स में द्रोणाचार्य पुरस्कार जीतने वाले कर्नाटक के तीसरे व्यक्ति बन गए है। उन्होंने ओलंपियन क्वार्टर-मिलर वंदना राव, हेमपैथलेट प्रमिला अयप्पा, अश्विनी नचप्पा, मुरली कुट्टन, एमके आशा, ईबी शायला, रोजा कुट्टी और जीजी प्रमिला जैसे शीर्ष एथलीटों को तैयार किया था।

• पुरुषोत्तम राय के नाम की घोषणा राष्ट्रीय खेल पुरस्कार 2020 के अन्य विजेताओं के साथ वर्ष 2020 के द्रोणाचार्य पुरस्कार के लिए की गई थी। उन्होंने 1987 विश्व एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप, 1988 के एशियन ट्रैक एंड फील्ड चैंपियनशिप और 1999 के एसएएफ गेम्स के लिए भारतीय टीम को प्रशिक्षित किया था।

• पत्रकार, कमेंटेटर और पॉप समाजशास्त्री गेल शेही, जिनके सबसे ज्यादा बिकने वाले पैसेज ने लाखों लोगों को शुरुआती वयस्कता से लेकर अधेड़ उम्र तक और उससे आगे बढ़ने में मदद की, उनकी मौत न्यू यॉर्क के साउथम्पटन में हुई है। वह 83 वर्ष की थी।

• सुप्रीम कोर्ट के पूर्व न्यायाधीश जस्टिस ए.आर. लक्ष्मणन का निधन हो गया। उनका जन्म 22 मार्च, 1942 को तमिलनाडु के शिवगंगा जिले के देवकोट्टई में हुआ था। उन्हें 20 दिसंबर, 2002 को सर्वोच्च न्यायालय के न्यायाधीश के रूप में नियुक्त किया गया था और 22 मार्च, 2007 को सेवानिवृत्त हुए थे।

• वर्तमान में वे न्यायमूर्ति ए.एस.आनंद की अध्यक्षता वाले मुलई पेरियार पैनल तमिलनाडु के प्रतिनिधि थे।

Ministry of Tribal Affairs launches Tribal Health & Nutrition Portal – ‘Swasthya’

Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched the e-portal on tribal health and nutrition named ‘Swasthya’. It is a first of its kind e-portal, providing all health and nutrition-related information of the tribal population of India in a single platform.
Apart from this, an e-newsletter on health and nutrition ALEKH was also announced. It is a quarterly newsletter.
Opening of National Overseas Portal and National Tribal Fellowship Portal (for inviting online applications for the academic year 2020-21) was another important announcement that was made.

Ministry of AYUSH launches campaign “Ayush for Immunity”

The Ministry of AYUSH launched a campaign on “Ayush for Immunity”. It is a three-month campaign and aims to promote Ayush solutions in the entire world for a healthier and happier life.
The theme of the event is: accessible and affordable health for all, through Ayush solutions
The campaign was rolled out during a webinar that featured the participation of More than 50 thousand people. The webinar was streamed by the Ministry of AYUSH on its new digital communication platform Ayush Virtual Convention Centre (AVCC).

MCX to launch India’s first bullion index named “Bulldex”

Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX), India’s largest commodity derivatives exchange, will launch India’s first bullion index named “Bulldex”, on August 24, 2020. Bullions, viz. gold and silver are already being traded as individual commodities on the country’s premier commodity exchange.
With gold and silver as underlying, Bulldex will have a market lot size of 50 and be a cash-settled futures contract. MCX had tested bullion index futures trade in mock trading exercises in July.

HDFC Bank launches Shaurya KGC Card

The largest private sector bank in the country, HDFC Bank, launched ‘Shaurya KGC (Kisan Gold Credit) Card, a loan product for the armed forces.
This is the first-of-its-kind scheme meant for the army personnel in the country and is based on the Kisan Credit Card guidelines of the government. This credit card comes with a life cover of Rs 10 lakhs.

Renowned classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj passes away

Indian classical vocalist, Pandit Jasraj passed away. He was born in Haryana in 1930, his musical career spanned eight decades. His performances of classical and semi-classical vocals have become albums and film soundtracks.
Jasraj has taught music in India, Canada, and the US. Pandit Jasraj was an Indian classical vocalist, belonging to the Mewati Gharana. His musical career spanned for more than eight decades. Many of his performances of classical and semi-classical vocals have now become albums and film soundtracks.
Pandit Jasraj was a recipient of India’s fourth-highest civilian award, Padma Shri in 1975; Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1987 and Padma Bhushan in 1999. In the year 2000, the government of India conferred him with Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian honor in the country.
In 2019, the International Astronomical Union had named a minor planet after Pandit Jasraj. The minor planet is located between Mars and Jupiter.

Filmmaker Nishikant Kamat passes away

Director-actor Nishikant Kamat passed away. He made his directorial debut in 2005 with Marathi movie Dombivali Fast, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi.
Nishikant had directed some popular Bollywood movies like Force, Drishyam, and Madaari. He made his silver screen debut in 2004 with the Hindi movie Hava Aney Dey. In 2008, Kamat helmed his first Bollywood film Mumbai Meri Jaan.
As an actor, he was known for his performances in Daddy, Rocky Handsome, Julie 2, and Bhavesh Joshi.

Rakesh Asthana becomes new DG of BSF

The government of India has appointed Rakesh Asthana as the new director-general of the Border Security Force (BSF). Currently, DG Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) chief S S Deswal was holding the additional charge of BSF since March this year.
Asthana is currently heading the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) with an additional charge of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

The central bank of India appoints Ashwini Kumar Shukla as Chief Risk Officer

The central bank of India has appointed Mr. Ashwini Kumar Shukla as Chief Risk Officer.
As part of the reform agenda announced by the Ministry of Finance last year in August 2019, the Central bank of India is the first one to appoint a CRO from the market.

आदिवासी मंत्रालय द्वारा शुरू किया गया स्वास्थ्य पोर्टल और आलेख ई-न्यूज़लेटर

जनजातीय मामलों के मंत्रालय ने “स्वास्थ्य” नामक जनजातीय स्वास्थ्य और पोषण पोर्टल लॉन्च किया। इसके अलावा, मंत्रालय ने स्वास्थ्य और पोषण पर “आलेख” ई-न्यूज़लेटर शुरू किया।

यह पोर्टल अपनी तरह का पहला है। यह भारत में जनजातीय आबादी के स्वास्थ्य और पोषण से संबंधित जानकारी प्रदान करता है। यह देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों से एकत्र किए गए अनुसंधान अध्ययनों, नवीन प्रथाओं, केस अध्ययनों और सर्वोत्तम प्रथाओं के बारे में जानकारी के एक एकीकृत स्रोत के रूप में भी कार्य करेगा।

भारत सरकार ने देश में आदिवासियों के जीवन को बेहतर बनाने के लिए अन्य पहल शुरू की है। GOAL को फेसबुक के साथ साझेदारी में लॉन्च किया गया था

GOAL का पूर्ण स्वरुप ‘Going Online as Leaders’ है। इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य देश के 5000 आदिवासी युवाओं को मेंटरिंग देना और उन्हें अपने समुदायों में युवा नेता बनने में सक्षम बनाना है।

जनजातीय मामलों के मंत्रालय द्वारा फेसबुक और नीति आयोग के साथ इस पहल को कार्यान्वित किया जा रहा है। इसे अक्टूबर 2019 में लॉन्च किया गया था।

इस परियोजना का लक्ष्य लैंगिक अंतर को भी समाप्त करना है। और इसलिए यह अधिक महिलाओं को भर्ती करने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है। यह आदिवासी महिलाओं में नेतृत्व के गुण लाने में भी काम करेगा।

आयुष मंत्रालय ने शुरू किया “Ayush For Immunity” अभियान

आयुष मंत्रालयद्वारा “Ayush for Immunity” नामक एक अभियान शुरू किया गया है। इस अभियान को एक वेबिनार के दौरान शुरू किया गया था जिसमें 50 हजार से अधिक लोगों ने हिस्सा लिया था। आयुष मंत्रालय द्वारा वेबिनार कोअपने नए डिजिटल संचार प्लेटफार्मआयुष वर्चुअल कन्वेंशन सेंटर (AVCC) पर स्ट्रीम किया गया था।

“आयुष फॉर इम्युनिटी” अभियान के माध्यम से, आयुष मंत्रालय का उद्देश्य लोगों की प्रतिरक्षा क्षमता बढ़ाने और रोगों को रोकने के लिए विभिन्न आयुष-आधारित समाधानों की शक्ति से जुड़ी महत्वपूर्ण जानकारी के बारे में लोगों को जागरूक करना है।

MCX लॉन्च करेगा भारत का पहला बुलियन इंडेक्स "Bulldex"

मल्टी कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज ऑफ़ इंडिया (MCX) 24 अगस्त, 2020 को भारत का पहला बुलियन इंडेक्स "Bulldex" लॉन्च करेगा। बुलियन, यानि देश के प्रमुख कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज में सोने और चांदी का पहले से ही व्यक्तिगत वस्तुओं के रूप में कारोबार किया जा रहा है। सोने और चांदी अंडरलाइन के साथ, बुलडेक्स का बाजार आकार 50 का होगा और जो नकदी-निगमित वायदा अनुबंध होगा। एमसीएक्स ने जुलाई में मॉक ट्रेडिंग प्रयासों में बुलियन इंडेक्स फ्यूचर्स ट्रेड का टेस्ट किया था।

मल्टी कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज ऑफ़ इंडिया लिमिटेड भारत में स्थित एक स्वतंत्र कमोडिटी एक्सचेंज है। इसकी स्थापना 2003 में हुई थी और यह मुंबई में स्थित है। यह भारत का सबसे बड़ा कमोडिटी डेरिवेटिव्स एक्सचेंज है।

HDFC बैंक ने लॉन्च किया शौर्य KGC कार्ड

देश के सबसे बड़े निजी क्षेत्र के बैंक, एचडीएफसी बैंक ने सशस्त्र बलों के लिए ऋण उत्पाद शौर्य KGC (किसान गोल्ड क्रेडिट) कार्ड लॉन्च किया।

यह देश में सेना के कर्मियों के लिए बनाई गई अपनी तरह की पहली योजना है और यह सरकार के किसान क्रेडिट कार्ड दिशानिर्देशों पर आधारित है। यह क्रेडिट कार्ड 10 लाख रुपये के जीवन कवर के साथ आता है।

भारतीय शास्त्रीय संगीत गायकपंडित जसराजका निधन। उनका जन्म 1930 में हरियाणामें हुआ था, उनके संगीत करियर की शुरुआत लगभग आठ दशकों पहले हुई थी। उन्होंने अपने करियर के दौरान कईराष्ट्रीय और अंतर्राष्ट्रीयपुरस्कार प्राप्त किए।

पंडित जसराज को साल 1975 में भारत के चौथे सबसे बड़े नागरिक पुरस्कारपद्म श्रीके साथ -साथ 1987 में संगीत नाटक अकादमीपुरस्कार और 1999 में पद्म भूषणसे सम्मानित किया गया था। वर्ष 2000 में, भारत सरकार ने उन्हें देश के दूसरे सबसे बड़े नागरिक सम्मानपद्म विभूषणसे सम्मानित किया था।

फिल्म निर्माता निशिकांत कामत का निधन

निर्देशक-अभिनेतानिशिकांत कामतका निधन। उन्होंने अपने निर्देशन की शुरुआत 2005 में मराठी फिल्मडोंबिवली फास्टसे की थी, जिसने मराठी में सर्वश्रेष्ठ फीचर फिल्म काराष्ट्रीय फिल्म पुरस्कारजीता।

सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया ने अश्विनी कुमार शुक्ला को अपना मुख्य जोखिम अधिकारी नियुक्त किया है। उनका कार्यकाल तीन अगस्त से प्रभावी है। बैंक ने एक विज्ञप्ति में सोमवार को यह जानकारी दी।

शुक्ला इससे पहले भारतीय स्टेट बैंक में जोखिम प्रबंधन विभाग के महाप्रबंधक रह चुके हैं। पिछले साल वित्त मंत्रालय ने अपने सुधार कार्यक्रमों के तहत सरकारी बैंकों को बाजार से मुख्य जोखिम अधिकारी नियुक्त करने की अनुमति दे दी थी। इस तरह की नियुक्ति करने वाला सेंट्रल बैंक ऑफ इंडिया पहला सरकारी बैंक है।

Government forms draft Defence Production and Export Promotion Policy 2020

• The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has formulated a draft Defence Production and Export Promotion Policy 2020 (DPEPP 2020), with the objective to make India self-reliance in defence manufacturing and to position the country amongst the leading countries of the world in defence and aerospace sectors.

• The new policy is a part of the announcements made under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Package’ to provide impetus to self-reliance in defence manufacturing. The policy framework aims to position India among the leading countries of the world in defence and aerospace sectors.

• The Defence Production and Export Promotion Policy 2020 has laid out the following goals and objectives:

I. To achieve a turnover of Rs 1,75,000Crores (USD 25 Billion) including export of Rs 35,000 Crore (USD 5 Billion) in Aerospace and Defence goods and services by 2025.

II. To develop a dynamic, robust and competitive Defence industry, including Aerospace and Naval Shipbuilding industry to cater to the needs of Armed forces with quality products.

III. To reduce dependence on imports and take forward “Make in India” initiatives through domestic design and development.

IV. To promote export of defence products and become part of the global defence value chains.

V. To create an environment that encourages R&D, rewards innovation, creates Indian IP ownership and promotes a robust and self-reliant defence industry.

National Programme ‘Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan 2020-21’ launched

Theatre maestro Ebrahim Alkazi passes away

• Indian theatre director and drama teacher, Ebrahim Alkazi, has passed away. He was 94. He was the first and longest serving Director of the National School of Drama (NSD), and held the position from 1962-77.

• Ebrahim was considered as the father of modern Indian theatre and has mentored generations of actors, including Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Rohini Hattangadi, Surekha Sikri and Pankaj Kapoor.

• The thespian has a lot of accolades to his name and has won many of India’s most prestigious awards, such as Padma Shri (1966), the Padma Bhushan (1991), and India’s second highest civilian award the Padma Vibhushan in 2010.SangeetNatakAkademi Award in Direction in 1962, and the Akademi’s highest award the Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship for lifetime contribution to theatre.

Nobel Peace Prize winner John Hume passes away

• The prominent Northern Ireland politician and former Nobel Peace Prize winner, John Hume passed away. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1998, along with David Trimble, for his role in ending the conflict in Northern Ireland.

• He was a founding member of the Social Democratic and Labour Party (SDLP) in 1970 and led the party from 1979 until 2001.

RBI approves Sashidhar Jagdishan as HDFC Bank CEO and MD

• The Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of Sashidhar Jagdishan as the Managing Director (MD) and CEO of HDFC Bank. Mr. Jagdishan will take charge of the outgoing MD Aditya Puri on October 27, 2020 and will remain on the position for three years.

• HDFC Bank mentioned that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bank will be held in due course to approve the appointment of Sashidhar Jagdishan as the new MD and CEO of the bank.

• Along with Sashidhar Jagdishan, HDFC Bank had also submitted the names of Sunil Garg, Global CEO of Citi Commercial Bank, and Kaizad Bharucha (ED at HDFC Bank) for the RBI’s consideration.

• Sashidhar Jagdishan had joined HDFC Bank in 1996 as a manager in the finance function and later became a business head-finance in 1999.

रक्षा मंत्रालय ने रक्षा उत्पारदन और निर्यात संवर्द्धन नीति-2020 का मसौदा तैयार किया

• रक्षा मंत्रालय ने हाल ही में रक्षा उत्‍पादन और निर्यात संवर्द्धन नीति 2020 का मसौदा तैयार किया है। इस नीति का मुख्य उद्देश्‍य ‘आत्‍मनिर्भर भारत अभियान’ के तहत रक्षा विनिर्माण के क्षेत्र में देश को स्‍वावलम्‍बी बनाना है। प्रस्तावित नीति की परिकल्‍पना रक्षा मंत्रालय के लिए एक ऐसे दिशानिर्देश दस्‍तावेज के रूप में की गई है। इसमें देश की रक्षा उत्‍पादन क्षमताओं को प्रोत्‍साहित कर उसे आत्‍मनिर्भर और निर्यात में सक्षम बनाने पर जोर दिया गया है।

• सरकार का मानना है कि इस क्षेत्र में C-19 के चलते कई चुनौतियों से जूझ रही पूरी अर्थव्यवस्था में फिर से जान फूंकने की क्षमता है। रक्षा मंत्रालय ने देश में रक्षा विनिर्माण के लिए ‘रक्षा उत्पादन एवं निर्यात संवर्द्धन नीति 2020’ का मसौदा रखा है। रक्षा निर्माण में आत्मनिर्भरता प्रदान करने के उद्देश्य से इस 'आत्मानिर्भर भारत पैकेज' के तहत कई घोषणाएँ की गईं।

• केंद्र सरकार ने देश में रक्षा विनिर्माण से 2025 तक 1.75 लाख करोड़ रुपये के कारोबार का लक्ष्य रखा है। इसमें अगले पांच साल में रक्षा एवं एरोस्पेस क्षेत्र में सामान और सेवाओं के 35,000 करोड़ रुपये के निर्यात का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।

• इस नीति की परिकल्पना रक्षा मंत्रालय को एक व्यापक मार्गदर्शन देने वाले दस्तावेज के रूप में की गयी है।गुणवत्ता वाले उत्पादों के साथ सशस्त्र बलों की जरूरतों को पूरा करने हेतु एयरोस्पेस और नौसेना जहाज निर्माण उद्योग सहित एक गतिशील, मजबूत और प्रतिस्पर्धी रक्षा उद्योग विकसित करना।

राष्ट्रीय कार्यक्रम 'विद्यार्थी विज्ञान मंथन 2020-21' का हुआ शुभारंभ

• केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्री डॉ. हर्षवर्धन ने 'विद्यार्थी विज्ञान मंथन, 2020-21' कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत की है। यह एक राष्ट्रीय कार्यक्रम है, जिसे कक्षा 6 से 11 वीं तक के स्कूली छात्रों में विज्ञान को लोकप्रिय बनाने के लिए शुरू किया गया है। इस कार्यक्रम को विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में प्रतिभा की पहचान करने और छात्रों के बीच वैज्ञानिक कौशल को बढ़ावा देने के लिए डिज़ाइन किया गया है।

• आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार ने "ई-रक्षा बंधन" नामक एक नया अभिनव ऑनलाइन साइबर जागरूकता कार्यक्रम शुरू किया है। इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य समूचे राज्य में लोगों को साइबर अपराधों के बारे में जागरूक करना है। एक महीने तक चलने वाले इस ऑनलाइन अवेयरनेस कार्यक्रम को क्राइम इन्वेस्टिगेशन डिपार्टमेंट (CID), FM रेडियो, साइबर क्राइम प्रिवेंशन अगेंस्ट वीमेन एंड चिल्ड्रेन (CCPWC), साइबर पीस फाउंडेशन और अन्य संगठनों द्वारा आयोजित किया जाएगा।

• इस ऑनलाइन जागरूकता अभियान से राज्य सरकार का लक्ष्य है कि 31 अगस्त तक 1 लाख महिलाओं, लड़कियों और आम जनता को प्रशिक्षित करना है। इस तरह, ई-रक्षा बंधन ’साइबरस्पेस में महिलाओं और बच्चों की सुरक्षा सुनिश्चित करेगा। इसके लिए राज्य पुलिस और CID ने "Let us make August a month of e-freedom and e-safety" का नारा भी दिया है।

• आयरलैंड के पूर्व राजनीतिज्ञ और नोबेल पुरस्कार विजेता जॉन ह्यूम का सोमवार को 83 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया। यह जानकारी उनके परिवार ने एक बयान में दी है। बीबीसी के अनुसार, उनका निधन सोमवार तड़के लंदनडेरी में स्थित ओवन मोर नर्सिंग होम में हुआ। पूर्व शिक्षक और उत्तरी आयरलैंड में 30 सालों से अधिक समय तक सर्वोच्च प्रोफाइल वाले नेता रहे ह्यूम को 1968 में नागरिक अधिकार आंदोलन के दौरान प्रसिद्धि मिली।

• रिजर्व बैंक ने देश के सबसे बड़े प्राइवेट बैंक HDFC Bank के सीईओ और मैनेजिंग डायरेक्टर आदित्य पुरी के उत्तराधिकारी के रूप में शशिधर जगदीशन के नाम को अपनी मंजूरी दे दी है। जगदीशन इस समय बैंक के 'चेंज एजेंट' और फाइनेंस विभाग के प्रमुख के रूप में काम कर रहे हैं। वह 1996 से बैंक के साथ जुड़े हैं। जगदीशन की नियुक्ति के साथ पुरी के उत्तराधिकारी को लेकर लगाए जा रहे तमाम कयासों पर विराम लग गया है। पूरी बैंकिंग इंडस्ट्री और कारोबारी जगत में इस बात को लेकर काफी अधिक जिज्ञासा थी कि एचडीएफसी बैंक को नई ऊंचाइयों पर ले जाने वाले पुरी का स्थान कौन लेगा।

• The 6th BRICS Environment Ministers’ Meeting was held under the presidency of Russia. Padma Shri awardee Sonam Tshering Lepcha passes away

• Folk musician and Padma Shri awardee, Sonam Tshering Lepcha passed away. He was 92.He started his career as a soldier.He travelled to various parts of Sikkim and complied a wide range of Indian folk and traditional Lepcha songs and played folk music on All India Radio in 1960.

• He was highly reverred in Sikkim, where he spent much of his time for his role in the revival of Lepcha culture, which is an indigenous one in Sikkim. He was awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution in the field of folk music.

India’s first honey testing laboratory set up at NDDB in Anand district of Gujarat

• India’s first dedicated honey testing laboratory has been set up at the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in Anand district of Gujarat.

• The ‘World Class State of Art Honey Testing Laboratory’ was inaugurated virtually by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on 24 July 2020, with the aim to boost exports and ensure better rates to farmers.

• The facility has been established by NDDB with support of National Bee Board (NBB).The new lab will test honey as per the norms specified by the food safety regulator FSSAI.

J&K LG announces launch of ‘Macadamisation Program’

• Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu has announced the launch of a ‘Macadamisation Program’ for the improvement of roads across Jammu and Kashmir.

• Murmu has approved a program for 100 percent Macadamisation of all roads in the Union Territory including 11,000 km of fair-weather roads.

Indian Railways Constructing World’s first electrified double-stack container tunnel near Haryana

• The Indian Railways is constructing the world’s first electrified double-stack container tunnel, between the Aravalli hills, on the railway’s Western Dedicated Freight Corridor near Haryana’s Sohna

• The D-shaped tunnel is one of the biggest Railway tunnels in India in terms of cross-sectional area, measuring 150 square metres.One end of the tunnel is near Rewari while the other end of the tunnel is at Dadri.The tunnel connects the Mewat and Gurugram district of Haryana.

• Once operational, a double-stack container goods train will be able to run at a speed of more than 100 km from within this one-km-tunnel.The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) is the implementing agency of the project.

India extends medical assistance worth USD 1 million to North Korea

• India has extended anti-tuberculosis medical assistance worth about USD 1 million to North Korea in response to a request received from the World Health Organisation (WHO).

• The medical assistance is given under the aegis of an ongoing WHO anti-tuberculosis programme in Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

RBI signs $400 mn currency swap with Sri Lanka

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has signed an agreement for extending a $400-million currency swap facility to Sri Lanka. This currency swap is used to boost the foreign reserves and ensure the financial stability of the country.

• Sri Lanka was set to enter into an agreement with the RBI for a currency swap worth $400 million under the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) framework.

• The currency swap arrangement will remain available till November 2022.

• Veteran Odia actor Bijay Mohanty has passed away following a prolonged illness. He was 70.

Haryana to host Khelo India Youth Games 2021

• Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, and the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Kiren Rijiju announced that Haryana will host the 4th edition of Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG). The Games will be held in Panchkula. The games are currently scheduled to take place after Tokyo Olympics.

• Haryana has a history of producing of many elite athletes, such as, BajrangPunia, Yogeshwar Dutt, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik, papa-athlete Deepak Malik, Boxer Amit Panghal and shooters Manu Bhakar, Sanjeev Rajput, Anish Bhanwala, who has represented and won medals for India at International Platform.

• Haryana has done well in all three editions of KIYG. While they came second in both 2019 and 2020 editions (200 medals in 2020 and 159 medals in 2019) Haryana won it in 2018 with 102 podium finishes.

Hyderabad Ranked 16th in World’s most Surveilled Cities

• As per the new analysis by Comparitech on the World’s Most Surveilled Cities, in 150 major cities across the globe, Hyderabad has positioned in 16th rank among the list of top 20 cities with the maximum number of Closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance cameras. The research is based on the number of cameras per 1,000 people.

• It has most CCTV surveillance in India. The List was topped by Taiyuan, China.Chennai(21st rank) and Delhi (33rd rank) made into the top 50 list. Delhi ranked 2nd, Tokyo tops in the 20 most populated cities in the world.

कृषिमंत्री ने शहद की जांच के लिए आणंद स्थित एनडीडीबी में प्रयोगशाला का उद्घाटन किया

• कृषि मंत्री नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर ने शुक्रवार को गुजरात के आणंद जिले में राष्ट्रीय डेयरी विकास बोर्ड (एनडीडीबी) के परिसर में सरकार की पहली शहद परीक्षण प्रयोगशाला का उद्घाटन करते हुए कहा कि इससे घरेलू और वैश्विक बाजारों में गुणवत्तापूर्ण उत्पाद सुनिश्चित होंगे और किसानों को भी अपने उत्पाद के लिए बेहतर मूल्य मिल सकेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि इस तरह की और प्रयोगशालाएं देश भर में स्थापित की जाएंगी।

• उन्होंने कहा कि किसानों की आय को दोगुना करने के उद्देश्य से मधुमक्खी पालन को प्रोत्साहित कर रही है। वीडियो कांफ्रेंस के माध्यम से प्रयोगशाला का उद्घाटन करते हुए, तोमर ने कहा कि परीक्षण प्रयोगशाला समय की मांग है क्योंकि देश का शहद उत्पादन और निर्यात पिछले कुछ वर्षों में बढ़ रहा है।उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘नयी प्रयोगशालायें, खाद्य सुरक्षा नियामक- एफएसएसएआई द्वारा निर्दिष्ट मानदंडों के अनुसार शहद का परीक्षण करेगी।

• गुणवत्तायुक्त शहद के कारण निर्यात को बढ़ावा मिलेगा और किसानों को बेहतर कीमतों की प्राप्ति सुनिश्चित होगी।’’ चूंकि सभी किसान गुजरात में एनडीडीबी के परीक्षण के लिए अपने नमूने नहीं ला सकते हैं, इसलिए छोटे किसानों के लाभ के लिए भविष्य में और प्रयोगशालाओं को स्थापित करने की आवश्यकता है।

• उन्होंने कहा कि महामारी के कारण लागू किये गये ‘C - 19’ की वजह से प्रभावित लोगों के लिए 20 लाख करोड़ रुपये के आर्थिक पैकेज के हिस्से के रूप में मधुमक्खी पालन व्यवसायों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए 500 करोड़ रुपये निर्धारित किए गये हैं, इसके बाद इस क्षेत्र के आधारभूत ढांचों का विकास किया जायेगा।

जम्मू-कश्मीर में बदहाल सड़कों के सुधार के लिए 'Macadamisation Program' का हुआ शुभारंभ

• उपराज्यपाल गिरीश चंद्र मुर्मू ने जम्मू और कश्मीर की सड़कों के सुधार के लिए एक 'Macadamisation Program' शुरू करने की घोषणा की है। मुर्मू ने केंद्र शासित प्रदेश की 11 हजार किलोमीटर लंबी सड़कों सहित सभी सड़कों के 100 प्रतिशत मैकडैमाइजेशन के लिए एक कार्यक्रम को मंजूरी दी है।

• इस विशेष कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत के लिए उपराज्यपाल ने लोक निर्माण विभाग को पहली किश्त के रूप में 200 करोड़ रुपये देने की भी घोषणा की ताकि प्रमुख सड़कों पर मैकडामिसाइजेशन का काम शुरू तुरंत हो सके। इसके अलावा हर सड़क पर तारकोल बिछाने के लिए चयन में यह भी देखा जाएगा कि वह सड़क कब बनी थी और पिछली बार उसकी मरम्मत कब की गई थी।

हरियाणा में दुनिया की पहली विद्युतीकृत सुरंग

• देश का सबसे बड़ा रेलवे (Indian Railways) का ड्रीम प्रोजेक्ट डेडीकेटेड फ्रेट कॉरिडोर महामारी के बावजूद तेजी से पूरा हो रहा है।पहले चरण में 2 कॉरिडोर ईस्टर्न कॉरिडोर और वेस्टर्न कॉरिडोर बनाए जा रहे हैं।इन दोनों कॉरिडोर में 500 किलोमीटर का ट्रैक रेलवे पहले ही बिछा चुका है जिस पर गुड्स ट्रेन चलने लगी हैं जबकि 500 किलोमीटर का ट्रैक अगले महीने तक तैयार होने जा रहा है।

• भूवैज्ञानिक रूप से यह सुरंग सुरक्षित और स्थिर है क्योंकि यह 2500 से 500 मिलियन वर्ष पुरानी प्रोटेरोजोइक चट्टानों मुख्यतः दिल्ली सुपरग्रुप राक्स की अलवर/अजबगढ़ समूहों की क्वार्ट्जाइट, स्किस्ट और स्लेट्स है, से गुजरती है जिनकी उच्च वहन क्षमता है। इस टनल के माध्यम से 100 किमी प्रतिघंटा की गति से डबल स्टेक कंटेनर और 25 टन एक्सल लोड वाली मालभाड़ा रेलगाड़ियां गुजरेंगी।

भारत ने उत्तर कोरिया को 1 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर की चिकित्सा सहायता प्रदान की

• भारत ने विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) से प्राप्त अनुरोध के जवाब में उत्तर कोरिया के लिए लगभग 1 मिलियन अमरीकी डालर मूल्य के तपेदिक विरोधी चिकित्सा सहायता प्रदान की है।

• चिकित्सा सहायता डेमोक्रेटिक पीपुल्स रिपब्लिक ऑफ कोरिया (डीपीआरके) में चल रहे डब्ल्यूएचओ एंटी-ट्यूबरकुलोसिस प्रोग्राम के तत्वावधान में दी गई है।

भारत-श्रीलंका के बीच मुद्रा विनिमय समझौता

• श्रीलंका ने हाल ही में भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक (Reserve Bank of India-RBI) के साथ 400 मिलियन अमेरिकी डॉलर के मुद्रा विनिमय (Currency Swap) समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किये हैं।

• यह मुद्रा विनिमय समझौता नवंबर 2022 तक मान्य होगा।

• यह समझौता महामारी के बीच श्रीलंका को राहत प्रदान करेगा और उसे महामारी की समाप्ति के बाद अर्थव्यवस्था को मज़बूत करने में सहायता करेगा।

• यह समझौता महामारी और उसके बाद आर्थिक विकास की दिशा में श्रीलंका के साथ कार्य करने की भारत की प्रतिबद्धता का एक सशक्त उदाहरण है।

• सामान्य शब्दों में मुद्रा विनिमय (Currency Swap) एक प्रकार का विदेशी विनिमय समझौता होता है जो दो पक्षों के बीच एक मुद्रा के बदले दूसरी मुद्रा प्राप्त करने हेतु एक निश्चित समय के लिये किया जाता है।

ओडिया अभिनेता बिजय मोहंती का 70 वर्ष की आयु मे निधन

• ओडिया फिल्मों के जानेमाने अभिनेता बिजय मोहंती का लंबी बीमारी के बाद यहां एक निजी अस्पताल में सोमवार रात को निधन हो गया। वह 70 साल के थे। सूत्रों के अनुसार तबीयत बिगड़ने पर मोहंती को अस्पताल लाया गया था जहां उन्होंने अंतिम सांस ली। वह हृदयरोग से परेशान थे और हैदराबाद में उनका इलाज हुआ था। वह पिछले महीने विशेष एंबुलेंस से भुवनेश्वर लाये गये थे।

• सन 1950 में जन्मे मोहंती ने स्कूल के दिनों से ही अभिनय शुरू कर दिया। वह भारतीय नाट्य विद्यालय से उत्तीर्ण होकर निकले और सत्तर के दशक के मध्य में नाटकों का निर्देशन किया।

• ओडिया सिनेमा में 1977 में उनके करियर की शुरुआत हुई। उन्हें ‘चिलिका टायर’ के लिए राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार मिला। उन्होंने ‘नागा फासा’, ‘समय बड़ा बलवान’, ‘दंडा बालुंगा’ समेत कई फिल्मों में अभिनय किया।

हरियाणा करेगा खेलो इंडिया यूथ गेम्स 2021 की मेजबानी

• हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री, मनोहर लाल खट्टर और केंद्रीय युवा मामले और खेल मंत्री, किरेन रिजिजू ने इस 25 जुलाई को यह घोषणा की है कि, हरियाणा चतुर्थ (4थ) खेलो इंडिया यूथ गेम्स (KIYG) की मेजबानी करेगा।वर्तमान में ये खेल टोक्यो ओलंपिक के बाद आयोजित होने वाले हैं।

• एक वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंस में खेल मंत्री किरेन रिजिजू ने यह बताया कि वर्ष 2021 में खेलो इंडिया यूथ गेम्स हरियाणा के पंचकुला में आयोजित किए जाएंगे। मंत्री ने हरियाणा के खेल मंत्री, संदीप सिंह, सचिव खेल, रवि मित्तल और भारतीय खेल प्राधिकरण के महानिदेशक, संदीप प्रधान की उपस्थिति में इस समाचार की घोषणा की।

दुनिया के सबसे ज्यादा निगरानी वाले शहरों में 16वें नंबर पर हैदराबाद

• तेलंगाना की राजधानी हैदराबाद (Hyderabad News) सीसीटीवी के जरिए निगरानी (Most Surveilled City) के मामले में दुनिया के शीर्ष 20 शहरों में शामिल है। कम्पेरिटेक नाम के कन्ज्यूमर पोर्टल की ओर से कराए गए सर्वेक्षण में यह बात सामने आई है। सर्वे में 150 सर्वाधिक जनसंख्या घनत्व वाले शहरों को शामिल किया गया था। इनमें प्रति 1000 जनसंख्या पर सीसीटीवी कैमरों (CCTV cameras) की संख्या के आधार पर जो लिस्ट बनाई गई है, उसमें हैदराबाद 16वें नंबर है।

• हैदराबाद के अलावा सिर्फ लंदन ही टॉप-20 में शामिल होने वाला गैर-चीनी शहर है। इस लिस्ट में चीन के 18 शहरों ने जगह बनाई है। चीन के ताइयुआन ने लिस्ट में पहला स्थान हासिल किया है। ताइयुआन में प्रति एक हजार जनसंख्या पर 119 सीसीटीवी कैमरे लगे हैं। सर्वे के मुताबिक, भारत में सबसे ज्यादा सीसीटीवी कैमरे हैदराबाद की राजधानी तेलंगाना में लगे हैं।

• 2020 marks the 45th anniversary of the formation of the US-India Business Council (USIBC).Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually delivered a keynote address at the India Ideas Summit on 22 July 2020.

• The Prime Minister has also invited American firms to invest in sectors like healthcare, energy, infrastructure, civil aviation, defence, finance and insurance, space, among others.

Adani Ports signs up for Science-Based Targets initiative

• Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) has become the first Indian port to sign the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). After signing up for the SBTi, APSEZ has committed to set up science-based emissions reduction targets across their entire value chain.

• These targets would be consistent with keeping global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

• Jordan Henderson, the captain of Premier League club Liverpool has been named the 2019-20 Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association (FWA).

• The Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year is an annual award given since the 1947–48 season, to the player who is adjudged to have been the best of the season in English football.

India Ranks 3rd among top 10 countries gaining forest area in the world

• India has been ranked third among the top 10 countries that have gained in forest areas in the last decade (2010-2020) as per the latest Global Forest Resources Assessment (FRA) released by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

• FRA is a comprehensive assessment brought out by FAO after every five years since 1990 to assess the state of forests, their conditions and management for all member countries.

• Kargil Vijay Diwas 2020: It is celebrated on 26 July to commemorate the victory of the Indian soldiers over the infiltrating Pakistani troops. This year is the 21st anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

• The day is dedicated to our Kargil War’s Heroes and is named after the successful Operation Vijay. It is celebrated to in view of Operation Vijay and Kargil War that ended on July 26, 1999. After this, India successfully took command of the high outposts which had been lost to Pakistan.

• ‘Operation Vijay’, was the code name given to India’s offensive against Pakistan to flush out the Pakistani infiltrators from the Indian territory in Kargil.

रिज़र्व बैंक ने जारी की वित्तीय स्थिरता रिपोर्ट, जुलाई 2020

• Financial Stability Report July 2020: भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक ने वित्तीय स्थिरता रिपोर्ट (Financial Stability Report) का 21 वां अंक जारी किया है। यह वित्तीय स्थिरता की उप-समिति और वित्तीय स्थिरता के जोखिमों से संबंधित विकास परिषद (Financial Stability and Development Council- FSDC) के सामूहिक मूल्यांकन को दर्शाता है। इस रिपोर्ट में वित्तीय क्षेत्र के विकास और विनियमन से संबंधित समसामयिक मुद्दों के संदर्भ में वित्तीय प्रणाली के दृढ़तालेपन पर भी विचार-विमर्श किया गया है।

वित्तीय स्थिरता रिपोर्ट (Financial Stability Report) की मुख्य बातें:

• C-19 के जवाब में, एक अभूतपूर्व पैमाने पर राजकोषीय, मौद्रिक और नियामक हस्तक्षेपों के संयोजन ने वित्तीय बाजारों के सामान्य कामकाज को सुनिश्चित किया है।

• अति-लीवरेज गैर-वित्तीय क्षेत्र, वैश्विक भू-राजनीतिक तनाव, और महामारी के कारण हुए आर्थिक हानि वैश्विक आर्थिक संभावनाओं के प्रमुख जोखिम हैं।

• C-19 के प्रभाव को कम करने के लिए वित्तीय क्षेत्र के नियामकों और सरकार द्वारा किए गए कार्यों ने परिचालन बाधाओं को कम किया और गंभीर जोखिम प्रतिकूलता के समक्ष बाजार की समग्रता और लचीलापन बनाए रखने में मदद की।

• बैंक ऋण, जो कि 2019-20 की पहली छमाही के दौरान काफी कमजोर हो गया था, बाद की अवधि में बैंक समूहों में मंदी (मोडरेशन) के वैविध्यपूर्ण होने के साथ और गिरावट आयी।

• अनुसूचित वाणिज्यिक बैंकों (Scheduled Commercial Banks-SCB) के जोखिम-भारित परिसंपत्तियों के तुलना में पूंजी अनुपात (capital to risk-weighted assets ratio-CRAR) सितंबर 2019 में 15.0 प्रतिशत की तुलना में मार्च 2020 में घटकर 14.8 प्रतिशत हो गया, जबकि इस अवधि में उनकी सकल गैर-निष्पादित परिसंपत्ति (gross non-performing asset - GNPA) अनुपात 9.3 प्रतिशत से घटकर 8.5 प्रतिशत हो गया और इस अवधि के दौरान प्रावधान कवरेज अनुपात (provision coverage ratio-PCR) 61.6 प्रतिशत से बढ़कर 65.4 प्रतिशत हो गया।

• क्रेडिट जोखिम के लिए मैक्रो तनाव परीक्षणों से संकेत मिलता है कि सभी एससीबी का जीएनपीए अनुपात आधारभूत परिस्थितियों के तहत मार्च 2020 में 8.5 प्रतिशत से बढ़कर मार्च 2021 तक 12.5 प्रतिशत हो सकता है; यह अनुपात अत्यंत गंभीर तनावग्रस्त परिदृश्य के तहत 14.7 प्रतिशत तक बढ़ सकता है।

• नेटवर्क विश्लेषण से पता चलता है कि अंतर-बैंक बाजार में संकुचन और सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के बैंकों (पीएसबी) के बेहतर पूंजीकरण के साथ वित्तीय प्रणाली में संस्थाओं के बीच कुल द्विपक्षीय जोखिम में 2019-20 के दौरान मामूली गिरावट आई, एक वर्ष पहले के संबंध में विभिन्न परिदृश्यों के तहत बैंकिंग प्रणाली को होने वाली संक्रामक हानि में कमी होगी।

Government grants permission for permanent commission of women in Indian Army

• Central government has given its approval for permanent commission of women officers in Indian Army, empowering women to carry out larger roles in the armed force.

• The Government order specifies that the grant of permanent commission will be available for Short Service Commissioned (SSC) female officers in all 10 streams of the army.

• It will direct the Indian Army to work on its existing policies which will bring an equilibrium in the service conditions for both the female and male officers.

Home Minister to launch “Vriksharopan Abhiyan” in New Delhi

• “Vriksharopan Abhiyan” will be launched by the Union Home Minister ShriAmit Shah in New Delhi. Ministry of Coal will organize the abhiyan along with all Coal/Lignite PSUs.

• During the launch of “Vriksharopan Abhiyan”, the Union Home Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 6 Ecoparks/ Tourism sites which will offer avenues for recreation, adventure, water sport, bird watching etc for the people residing in nearby area.

• Under the “Vriksharopan Abhiyan”, large scale plantation would be carried out in mines, colonies, offices and other suitable areas of Coal/Lignite PSUs in order to promote “plantation by the society”.

UN General Assembly to go virtual for first time in 75 years

• The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) will go virtual for the first time in 75 years for its session scheduled to be held in September 2020. The world leaders of UN member countries have been asked to submit their pre-recorded videos for the session.

• The UN Assembly will hold its 75th session on September 15, 2020.

China launches its 1st independent mission to Mars

• China has successfully launched “Tianwen-1” its first independent mission to Mars. A Long March 5 rocket carrying the spacecraft ignited at the Wenchang Space Launch Site in south China’s tropical Hainan province.

• China had launched an orbiter destined for Mars on a Russian rocket in 2011, but the mission failed because the rocket malfunctioned.

Nomura estimates India’s GDP to contract by 6.1% in FY21

• The Indian economy is expected to contract by 6.1 percent in the current fiscal (2020-21), as per the Japanese financial services firm Nomura.

• The contraction in the GDP is due to the C-19 C-19, which has impacted both supply and demand forces in the economy since March 2020.

EPFO registers 3.18 lakh new subscribers in May 2020

• The subscriber base for Employees’ Provident Fund Organization- EPFO has grown by 3.18 lakh new net members during May 2020. It has registered 218 per cent month on month growth.

• The subscriber base growth is on account of increased number of new subscribers, lower exits and higher re-joining by exited members.

• The new subscriber joining increased by 66 per cent from 1.67 lakh in April to 2.79 lakh in May 2020.

• Flipkart announced on July 23, 2020 that it has acquired parent company, Walmart Inc’s Best Price wholesale cash-and-carry business in India.

• The move will allow Flipkart to launch a digital marketplace called Flipkart Wholesale next months the home grown e-commerce major looks to tap into the USD 650 billion B2B retail market in India.

• Walmart India runs 28 Best Price wholesale stores in the country. Flipkart Wholesale is a new digital marketplace focusing on addressing the business-to-business (B2B) segment in India.

• This will also strengthen the e-commerce firm’s wholesale offerings, to compete better with Amazon.

Greta Thunberg named winner of Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity

• The 17 year old climate activist from Sweden, Greta Thunberg has been named winner of the inaugural Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity. She will receive a prize money of 1 million euro. She has been awarded for her efforts to mobilise younger generations to tackle climate change.

• She commenced a protest outside the Swedish parliament in 2018 and risen to global prominence, becoming the figurehead for a series of school strikes by children around the world.

Arun Kumar nominated as Vice-Chairman of UIC

• The Director General of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Arun Kumar has been nominated as the Vice-Chairman of UIC (Union International Des Chemins/International Union of Railways), Security Platform from July 2020 to July 2022.

• He will take over as Chairman of the Security Platform from July 2022 to July 2024.

महिलाओं को मिला सेना में बराबरी का हक

• भारतीय सेना में महिला अधिकारियों के लिए स्थायी कमिशन की घोषणा केंद्र सरकार की ओर से हो गई है। रक्षा मंत्रालय ने शॉर्ट सर्विस कमीशन की महिला अधिकारियों को सेना की सभी दस शाखाओं में स्थायी कमीशन देने के आदेश पारित कर दिए हैं। इससे पहले इसी साल फरवरी में सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने एक ऐतिहासिक फैसले में एसएससी के तहत नियुक्त सभी महिला अधिकारियों को स्थायी कमीशन दिए जाने की बात कही थी।

• सेना में अब महिला अधिकारियों को भी सभी दस शाखाओं के अंतर्गत स्थायी कमिशन दिया जाएगा। इससे पहले महिला अधिकारियों को केवल न्यायाधीश एडवोकेट जनरल (JAG) और सेना शैक्षिक कोर (AEC) में स्थायी कमिशन की अनुमति दी गई थी। सेना के प्रवक्ता कर्नल अमन आनंद ने बताया, महिलाओं को सशक्त बनाने के लिए संगठन में उन्हें बड़ी जिम्मेदारी दी गई है।

गृह मंत्री ने नई दिल्ली में “वृक्षा रोपन अभियान” का शुभारंभ किया

• नई दिल्ली में केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री श्री अमित शाह द्वारा " वृक्षा रोपन अभियान" शुरू किया गया। कोयला मंत्रालय सभी कोयला / लिग्नाइट पीएसयू के साथ-साथ अभियान का आयोजन करेगा।

• "वृक्षा रोपन अभियान" के शुभारंभ के दौरान, केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री 6 इकोपार्क्स / पर्यटन स्थलों का शिलान्यास और उद्घाटन करेंगे, जो आसपास के क्षेत्र में रहने वाले लोगों के लिए मनोरंजन, साहसिक, जल खेल, पक्षी आदि के लिए मार्ग दर्शन प्रदान करेंगे।

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने वायरस महामारी के मद्देनजर महासभा सत्र सितंबर में पूरी तरह से ऑनलाइन आयोजित करने का फैसला किया है और 75 वर्ष के इतिहास में पहली बार विभिन्न देशों के नेता सत्र में शामिल होने न्यूयॉर्क नहीं जाएंगे, बल्कि रिकॉर्ड किए गए अपने वीडियो वक्तव्य भेजेंगे।

• संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा का 75वां सत्र 15 सितंबर को शुरु होगा। सत्र की शुरुआत में 'आम चर्चा' आयोजित की जाती है जो आम तौर पर एक सप्ताह तक चलती है। इसमें संघ के 193 सदस्य देशों के नेता दुनिया को संबोधित करते हैं।

चीन ने लॉन्च किया "मिशन मंगल

• चीन की अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नेशनल स्पेस एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन ने गुरुवार दोपहर को मंगल पर अपने पहले स्वतंत्र मिशन तियानवेन-1 के सफल प्रक्षेपण की पुष्टि की है। समाचार एजेंसी शिंहुआ के अनुसार दक्षिण चीन के हैनान प्रांत की वेनचांग स्पेस लॉन्च साइट से मार्च 5 नाम के रॉकेट को लॉन्च किया गया।

• चीनी मीडिया कंपनी douyu.com ने इस लॉन्च का लाइव स्ट्रीम यूट्यूब पर शेयर किया। चीनी शब्द तियानवेन का मतलब है "जन्नत के सवाल"। तियानवेन-1 में ऑर्बिटर, लैंडर और रोवर एक साथ हैं, जिनका मकसद मंगल के वातावरण को समझना और वहां जीवन के संकेतों की खोज करना है।

• इस अंतरिक्ष यान को मंगल पर पहुंचने में लगभग सात महीने का वक्त लगेगा।

बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था

भारत की जीडीपी इस वित्त वर्ष 6.1% घट सकती है: नोमुरा

• जापान की ब्रोकरेज फर्म नोमुरा ने इस वित्त वर्ष के दौरान भारत की जीडीपी में बड़ी गिरावट की आशंका जताई है। उसने मंगलवार को कहा कि भारत में आर्थिक गतिविधियां अभी भी कमजोर बनी हुई है, जिससे देश के सकल घरेलू उत्पाद (जीडीपी) में चालू वित्त वर्ष में 6.1 प्रतिशत तक की गिरावट आ सकती है।

• नोमुरा ने अपनी रिपोर्ट में कहा कि भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) अगस्त में होने वाली मौद्रिक नीति समीक्षा में नीतिगत दर को यथावत रख सकता है। लेकिन अक्टूबर और दिसंबर में इसमें 0.25-0.25 प्रतिशत की कटौती कर सकता है।

मई 2020 में 3.18 लाख नए कर्मचारी EPFO से जुड़े

• कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि संगठन (EPFO) के अनुसार मई महीने में EPFO में 3.18 लाख नए रजिस्ट्रेशन हुए हैं। इससे पहले अप्रैल महीने में महज 1.33 लाख नए रजिस्ट्रेशन हुए थे। महामारी के कारण इसमें गिरावट आई है। EPFO में रजिस्ट्रेशन के आंकड़े संगठित क्षेत्र में रोजगार की स्थिति को बताता है।

• C-19 के कारण बढ़ी बेरोजगारी लगातार घट रही संख्या सरकार ने C-19 पर रोकथाम के लिए 25 मार्च से देश में C-19 लागू किया था। EPFO की तरफ से पिछले महीने जारी शुरुआती आंकड़ों के मुताबिक इस साल मार्च में नए रजिस्ट्रेशन घटकर 5.72 लाख रह गई थी। फरवरी, 2020 में 10.21 लाख नए लोग ईपीएफ सदस्यों में जुड़े थे।

फ्लिपकार्ट ने वॉलमार्ट इंडिया के अधिग्रहण के साथ पेश किया नया डिजिटल बाजार होलसेल

• फ्लिपकार्ट समूह ने गुरुवार को देश के 650 अरब डॉलर के थोक कारोबार बाजार में उतरने के लिए नए डिजिटल बाजार 'फ्लिपकार्ट होलसेल शुरू करने की घोषणा की। साथ ही कंपनी ने वॉलमार्ट इंडिया प्राइवेट लिमिटेड की 100 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी भी खरीदी है। वॉलमार्ट इंडिया देश में 'बेस्ट प्राइस नाम से थोक दुकानों का परिचालन करती है। अभी इसके देशभर में 28 स्टोर हैं। फ्लिपकार्ट की ओर से यह घोषणा ऐसे समय की गयी है जब कंपनी ने हाल ही में वॉलमार्ट के नेतृत्व वाले निवेशकों के समूह से 1.2 अरब डॉलर का निवेश जुटाया है। हालांकि फ्लिपकार्ट ने वॉलमार्ट इंडिया के अधिग्रहण सौदे के मूल्य का खुलासा नहीं किया है।

• वॉलमार्ट इंडिया, दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी खुदरा कारोबार कंपनियों में से एक वॉलमार्ट के पूर्ण स्वामित्व वाली अनुषंगी है। वहीं फ्लिपकार्ट में 77 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी खरीदने के लिए वॉलमार्ट ने 2018 में 16 अरब डॉलर का निवेश किया था।

• स्वीडन के 17 वर्षीय जलवायु कार्यकर्ता, ग्रेटा थुनबर्ग को मानवता के लिए उद्घाटन गुलेनबेकियन पुरस्कार के विजेता के रूप में नामित किया गया है। उसे 1 मिलियन यूरो की पुरस्कार राशि मिलेगी। जलवायु परिवर्तन से निपटने के लिए युवा पीढ़ियों को जुटाने के उनके प्रयासों के लिए उन्हें सम्मानित किया गया है।

• माइक्रोफाइनेंस इंस्टीट्यूशंस नेटवर्क (एमएफआईएन) ने आलोक मिश्रा को अपना नया मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी और निदेशक नियुक्त किया है। नियुक्ति 1 अगस्त 2020 से प्रभावी होगी।

• डॉ मिश्रा वर्तमान सीईओ, हर्ष श्रीवास्तव से पदभार संभालेंगे, जिन्होंने एमएफआईएन में 2 साल से अधिक समय तक कार्य किया है।

RPF महानिदेशक अरुण कुमार बने UIC सुरक्षा मंच के उपाध्यक्ष

• यूआईसी के महानिदेशक फ्रैंकोइस डेवने ने रेलवे बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष, विनोद कुमार यादव को सूचित किया है कि 96वीं यूआईसी महासभा के निर्णय के अनुसार, जुलाई 2020 से लेकर जुलाई 2022 तक के लिए सुरक्षा मंच के उपाध्यक्ष के रूप में अरुण कुमार को मनोनीत किया गया है। उसके बाद, आरपीएफ के महानिदेशक जुलाई 2022 से लेकर जुलाई 2024 तक सुरक्षा मंच के अध्यक्ष का पदभार ग्रहण करेंगे।

• यूआईसी (यूनियन इंटरनेशनेल देस शिमन्स) एक फ्रेंच शब्द है जिसका अर्थ अंग्रेजी में इंटरनेशनल यूनियन ऑफ रेलवे है। इसका मुख्यालय पेरिस में है।
