The PWD or Public Works Department of Tamilnadu has announced vacancies for recruitment of Apprentices. PWD has invited online application from eligible graduate/diploma holders in Engineering and those who hail from Tamilnadu. Candidates who are selected will undergo apprenticeship training under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act 1973. The Public Works Department comes under the government of Tamilnadu. Tamilnadu PWD is part of the Ministry of Public Works Department and is entrusted with the construction and maintenance of buildings for most of the government departments and public undertakings, and the construction of bridges, roads, and infrastructure.

Category – I Graduate Apprentices 

Eligibility Criteria:  

Category – I Graduate Apprentices:- Following Candidates are eligible to apply for Graduate apprentices.  

• A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University in relevant discipline.  
• A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an Institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament in a relevant discipline. 
• Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.  

Vacancies for Technician Diploma Apprentices 

Category II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices  

Eligibility Criteria for Technician (Diploma) Apprentices: 

 Category – II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:- Following Candidates are eligible to apply for Technician (Diploma) Apprentices.  

• A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in a relevant discipline.  
• A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a University in a relevant discipline. 
• A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.  

Eligibility Rules for Tamilnadu PWD Apprenticeship: The job application is only open to freshers or those who have had no prior work experience. Candidates who have one-year work experience or have completed apprenticeship anywhere are not eligible to apply.  

Age Limit: As per the Apprenticeship Rule 1973.

How to Apply for Tamilnadu Public Works Department Recruitment 2017 for Apprentices? 

Step 1: Enroll in the Portal and get your profile approved. 

1. Go to www.mhrdnats.gov.in  
2. Click Enroll  
3. Complete the application form  
4. A unique Enrollment Number for each student will be generated.  

Note: Please wait for at least one day for enrollment verification and approval. After this student can proceed to Step 2.  

Step 2 :  

1. Login  
2. Click Establishment Request Menu  
3. Click Find Establishment  
4. Upload Resume  
5. Choose Establishment name  
6. Type “PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TAMILNADU” and search  
7. Click apply  
8. Click apply again
