Solving of equations went wrong

Question:

Find the area of the triangle formed by axis and lines $2 x + 7 y - 3 = 0$ and $5 x + 9 y + 4 = 0$

Options:

$\frac{23}{20}$

$\frac{23}{2}$

$\frac{23}{10}$

$\frac{23}{5}$

Solution:

Intersecting points of line $2 x + 7 y - 3 = 0$ & $5 x + 9 y + 4 = 0$

$2 x + 7 y - 3 = 0$ …(i)

$5 x + 9 y + 4 = 0$ …(ii)

Equation (i) × 5 – equation (ii) × 2

$\frac{\begin{matrix} 10 x + 35 y - 15 = 0 \\ _10 x \pm 18 \pm 12 = 0 \end{matrix}}{\begin{matrix} 27 y - 27 = 0 \\ y = 1 \end{matrix}}$

So, $x = - 2$

Intersecting point of line $2 x + 7 y - 3 = 0$ with x-axis is $(\frac{3}{2}, 0)$

Intersecting point of line $5 x + 9 y + 4 = 0$ with x-axis is $(\frac{- 4}{5}, 0)$

So area triangle $\frac{1}{2} \times 1 \times \frac{23}{10} = \frac{23}{20}$
