Question:

Find the area of the triangle formed by axis and lines  2x+7y-3=0   and  5x+9y+4=0

Options:
A)

  2320

B)

  232

C)

  2310

D)

  235

Solution:

Intersecting points of line  2x+7y-3=0    5x+9y+4=0

   2x+7y-3=0   …(i)

   5x+9y+4=0   …(ii)

    Equation (i) × 5 – equation (ii) × 2

   10x+35y-15=0_10x±18±12=027y-27=0y=1

    So,  x=-2

Intersecting point of line  2x+7y-3=0   with x-axis is  32,0

Intersecting point of line  5x+9y+4=0   with x-axis is  -45,0

So area triangle  12×1×2310=2320
