if I use X=4 and Y=3 , the both conditions satisfy and X*Y = 12.
in SSC we do not have much time for solving equations so substitution is the best option

Question:
If x-y = \(\cfrac{x+y}{7}\)= \(\cfrac{xy}{4}\), then the numerical value of xy is –
Options:
A) \(\cfrac{1}{3}\)
B) \(\cfrac{1}{4}\)
C) \(\cfrac{3}{4}\)
D) \(\cfrac{4}{3}\)
