Starting from his house one day, a student walks at a speed of 2.5 km/hr and reaches his school 6 minutes late. Next day at the same time he increases his speed by 1 km/hr and reaches the school 6 minutes early. How far is the school from his house?

The required distance

= Speed multipliedDifference of speed×difference in time $\frac{S p e e d m u l t i p l i e d}{D i f f e r e n c e o f s p e e d} \times d i f f e r e n c e i n t i m e$

(difference in time = 6 + 6 min.

= 6+660 $\frac{6 + 6}{60}$ hrs.)
