Question:

There is a certain average of a batsman in 11 innings. He scores 90 runs in 12th innings after which his average decreases by 5 runs. Find the average of the batsman after 12th innings.

Solution:

Ans: (b)

∴ Let the average after 12th inning is x then the average after 11th innings.

11 (x+5) + 90 = 12x

11x + 55 + 90 = 12x

x = 145
