sir please check solution of this question

Question:

The dimensions of a field are 15 m by 12 m. A pit 8 m long, 2.5 m wide and 2 m deep is dug in one corner of the field and the earth removed is evenly spread over the remaining area of the field. The level of the field is raised by —

Options:
A)

15 cm

B)

20 cm

C)

25 cm

D)

200/9 cm

Solution:

Ans: (c)

Volume of pir = 8 \(\times\) 2.5 \(\times\) 2

= 40 m3

Area of the field = 15 \(\times\) 12

= 180 m2

Remaining area of the field is = 15 \(\times\) 12 - 8 \(\times\) 2.5

= 180 - 20

= 160 m2

40 m3 of the earth spread over the area of 160 m2 will rise the height by (height) = (Volume)/(area)

= 40/160

= 1/4 m

= \(\cfrac{1}{4}\times100cm\)

= 25 cm
