In a race of 600 meter, Ajay beats Vijay by 60 meter and in a race of 500 meter, Vijay beats Anjay by 25 meter. By how many metres will Ajay beat Anjay in a race of 400 meter?
Options:
A) 48 meter.
B) 52 meter.
C) 56 meter.
D) 58 meter.
Solution:

Ans: (d)

When Ajay runs 600 meter.

Vijay runs 540 meters

And when vijay runs 500 meter

Anjay runs 475 meters.

∴ Ajay : Vijay : Anjay =

600 : 540

            500   :   475


= 30 : 27 : 25.65

∴ When Ajay runs 400 meter

Anjay will run \(\cfrac{400\times25.65}{30}\)

= 342 meters.

∴ Ajay will be at Anjay by

400 - 342 = 58 meters.
