A, B and C could do a work in 30, 20 and 10 days respectively. A is assisted by B and C on alternate days. Find total time taken by them to complete the work.

Options:

$8 \frac{4}{13}$

$9 \frac{3}{8}$

$4 \frac{8}{9}$

$3 \frac{9}{13}$

Solution:

Ans:(b)

$∴$ On 1^st day A & B would do 5 unit work

On 2^nd day A & C would do 8 unit work

$\Rightarrow$ In 2 days 13 unit work would be done

In 8 days 52 unit work would be done

9^th day required work done = 57 unit

$∴$ Required Time = $9 \frac{3}{8}$
