correct answer will be Rs 8272....

Question:
Glenn labelled the price of an article in such a way so as to earn 25% profit. However, while selling he offered 6% discount on the labelled price. If the sold it for Rs.10340, what was the cost price of the article?
Options:
A) Rs.9200
B) Rs.8000
C) Rs.8800
D) Rs.8600
Solution:

Let CP of the article =  x

Then, MP of the article = 125% of x = 1.25x

∴ SP of the article = 0.94 × 1.25x

As per the question

 0.94 × 1.25x = 10340

\(x=\cfrac{10340}{0.94 ×1.25}=8800\)

If glenn labelled the price so as to give him 25% profit by selling it at MP then only we can take MP=1.25x
