wrong formula (Question: 388290.0 )

real formula is cd^2 = ad X bd

Question:

∆ABC is an isoceles right angle triangle with ∠C = 90º. If D is any point on AB such that CD =  25    cm and BD = 6cm. Find the value of AD –  

Options:
A)

313    cm.

B)

2 cm.

C)

4 cm.

D)

Can't be determined

@Paramount if CD is perpendicular on AB then it is also a point on AB . now take the sides 6,8,10 . we get CD=4.8 ,ad=3.6 and DB=6.4 and on putting values in above formula the results are not equating

This formula is applied when CD is perpendicular to AB. But in this question D is any point on AB. And the correct formula for such type of questions is given.
