In laminar flow

Head loss = { 32(mu)VL } / {gamma D^2}

mu = viscosity
V = Velocity
gamma = unit weight of liquid
D = diameter of pipe

so, h = directly proportional to V

Question:

The head loss due to friction for the laminar flow through pipes varies:

Options:
A)

as the square of velocity

B)

directly as the velocity

C)

as the inverse of the velocity

D)

None of the above

Solution:

Ans: (a)
