answer should be 12.12. as the new radius is 7 and slant height is 14.

Question:

A semicircular sheet of paper of diameter 28 cm is bent to cover the exterior surface of an open conical ice-cream cup. Find the depth of the ice-cream cup.

Options:
A)

10.12 cm

B)

11.12 cm

C)

12.12 cm

D)

13.12 cm

Solution:

Ans(c);

Area of semicircle = \(\pi\)r2/2 = 22*14

Area of Cone = Area of Semicircle

r*l=14*7

In a cone, l is always greater then r.

so, l=14 and r=7

Since, h^2 = l^2-r^2

so, h=12.12 cm
