'tell, told' never used qith infinitive

Question:
DIRECTIONS: In the following question, a sentence has been given in Direct/Indirect speech. Out of the four alternatives suggested, select the one which best express the same sentence in Indirect/Direct.

"Don't waste your time" she said to the boys.

Options:
A) She told the boys not to waste their time
B) She told to the boys not to waste their time
C) She told the boys not to have wasted their time
D) She told the boys not to wasted their time
Solution:
Ans: (a)The correct sentence would be - She told the boys not to waste their time.

Commands and Requests

Indirect Speech is introduced by some verbs like ordered, requested, advised and suggested. Forbid(s)/ forbade is used for the negative sentences. The imperative mood is changed into the Infinitive.

a)    Direct: Rafique said to Ahmed, “Go away.”

b)    Indirect: Rafique ordered Ahmed to go away.

c)    Direct: He said to her, “Please wait.”

d)    Indirect: He requested her to wait.
