not 6x=15 .......5x=15 is the correct solution......final answer is 3

Question:

nope. Its 6x.
we r replacing 1unit which is already present.
For the required proportion of acid and water we need to have a new combination of 5 units of present mixture and 1 unit of pure acid. This 1 unit of pure acid is added by replacing 1 unit of the original mixture. So earlier the total volume was 6 units.
