Question:
DIRECTIONS: In the following question, a sentence has been given in Direct/Indirect speech. Out of the four alternatives suggested, select the one which best express the same sentence in Indirect/Direct.

My friend said, "They will be using my car for the trip."

Options:
A) My friend said that they would be using my car for the trip.
B) My friend said that they would be using his car for the trip.
C) My friend said that we will be using his car for the trip.
D) My friend said that they will be using my car for the trip.
Solution:

In Future Tense, while no changes are made except shall and will are changed into would because "would" will be used in past form of "will" and "my" will be replaced by "his". The correct sentence would be - My friend said that they would be using his car for the trip.
