There are thirteen straight lines in the given figure – AB, BC, CD, DA, FG, GH, HE, EF, JK, KL, LI, IJ and NM

those are line segments part of a line

KL is one straight line, not to count three straight lines like KL, KM andML...same for others also. 13 is the required number of straight lines.
