DESCRIBE PROPERLY PLSSS

Question:
Three pots contain equal mixture of milk and water in the ratio 4 : 1, 5 : 2 and 6 : 1 respectively. If all the solutions are mixed together. What is the ratio of milk and water in the final solution ?
Options:
A) 84 : 23
B) 83 : 22
C) 87 : 57
D) 77 : 89
Solution:

Ans: (B)

So, ratio of milk and water in final mixture = 83 : 22

Alternate method-

4 : 1, 5 : 2 and 6 : 1

=\(x\big( \frac{4}{5} +\frac{5}{7}+\frac{6}{7}\big)=\frac{83}{35} \)

=\( x\big( \frac{1}{5} +\frac{2}{7}+\frac{1}{7}\big)=\frac{22}{35}\)

=\(\frac{\frac{83}{35}}{\frac{22}{35}}\)

=83 : 22

(4+1)=5, (5+2)=7, (6+1)=7. So take LCM of these= 35. Suppose, each pot contains a mixture of 35Lt. Then you'll get diff quantity of milk & water for each pot. Now sum it up. Hope this helps.
