Question:
A sum of money becomes 3 times in 5 years at simple interest. In how many years will the same sum become 6 time at the same rate of simple interest?
Options:
A) 10 years
B) 12 years
C) 12.5 years
D) 10.5 years
Solution:
Ans: (c)

The sum of money gets three times means  200% is being added to the original sum(principal) in 5 years

So, 500% will be added in 12 and ½ years.

let principle be x
then amount 3x is given it means 2x is simple inteest
apply si= prt/100 u will have rate 40%
then again apply same formula but for this u have si = 5x
then u get time 12.5

The sum of money gets three times means 200% is being added to the original sum(principal) in 5 years
So, 500% will be added in 12 and ½ years.

So, option(c)-12.5 years is correct....we resolved it..........
