answer z c

Question:
If \(4\cfrac{1}{a}\times b\cfrac{2}{3}=7,\) find the values of a and b:
Options:
A) 1, 5
B) 2, 3
C) 3, 2
D) 5, 1
Solution:
Ans: (d)

If b > 2, the product of 4 and b will be greater than 7 if b < 1 the product will be less than 4.

\(\therefore\) b = 1

Now, the expression becomes \(4\cfrac{1}{a}\times1\cfrac{2}{3}=7\)

 \(\therefore\) \(4\cfrac{1}{a}\times\cfrac{5}{3}=7\)

\(\therefore\) 4\(\cfrac{1}{a}=7\times\cfrac{3}{5}=\cfrac{21}{5}=4\cfrac{1}{5}\)

\(\therefore\) a = 5 and b = 1
