It should be A,280

Question:

If a sum of Rs. 1,170 is distributed among A, B and C in the ratio 2 : 3 : 4, by mistake, in place of \(\cfrac{1}{2}:\cfrac{1}{3}:\cfrac{1}{4}\), then who benefited the most and by how much?

Options:
A) A, Rs. 280
B) B, Rs. 220
C) C, Rs. 250
D) B, Rs. 270
Solution:
Ans: (c)

Original amount shares of A, B & C = Rs. 540, Rs. 360, Rs. 270

Mistaken amount shares of A, B & C = Rs. 260, Rs. 390, Rs. 520

Thus, maximum profit difference is in the case of C which is 520 - 270 = Rs. 250.

Dear Student
The total amount by which B and C are individually profited is 30+250=280rs
But, in the question it is clearly written that "Who is benefited the most and by how much"
So by proper calculation it is clearly evident that the answer is (c).
