ATQ, it is asked who is benefited the most therefore if original amount is more than mistaken one then how can he be benefited i.e., original amount of C should be less than Mistaken one[which is not the case here]
thus OPTION A will be the answer.
Please provide detailed solution

Question:

If a sum of Rs. 1,170 is distributed among A, B and C in the ratio 2 : 3 : 4, by mistake, in place of \(\cfrac{1}{2}:\cfrac{1}{3}:\cfrac{1}{4}\), then who benefited the most and by how much?

Options:
A) A, Rs. 280
B) B, Rs. 220
C) C, Rs. 250
D) B, Rs. 270
Solution:
Ans: (c)

Original amount shares of A, B & C = Rs. 540, Rs. 360, Rs. 270

Mistaken amount shares of A, B & C = Rs. 260, Rs. 390, Rs. 520

Thus, maximum profit difference is in the case of C which is 520 - 270 = Rs. 250.
