Check it ans is

Question:
60 kg of an alloy A is mixed with 100 kg of alloy B. If alloy A has lead and tin in the ratio 3 : 2 and alloy B has tin and copper in the ratio 1 : 4, then the amount of tin in the new alloy is –
Options:
A) 80 kg
B) 53 kg
C) 44 kg
D) 24 kg
Solution:

Ans: (C)

Weight of alloy A = 60 kg

Ratio of lead and tin = 3 : 2

So, weight of lead and tin = 36 kg and 24 kg

Weight of alloy B = 100 kg

Ratio of tin and copper = 1 : 4

So, Weight of tin and copper = 20 kg and 80 kg

So, weight of tin in mixture A and B

= 24 + 20 = 44 kg
