Question:

Average age of a teacher and three students is 20 years. If all the three boys are of same age and the difference between the age of the boy and the teacher is 20 years. Then the age of the teacher is equal to. 

Options:
A) 25 years
B) 30 years
C) 35 years
D) 45 years
Solution:
Ans: (c) Let the age of students be x and that of teacher be y then according to given condition we have

3x + y = 4 × 20

i.e., 3x + y = 80 ............. (i)

and y - x = 20 ...............(ii)

\(\therefore\) Now solving (i) and (ii), we get x = 15

y = 20 + 15

y = 35 years

age of all student is same.. difference between boys and teachers age is 20.. means difference of each boy's age from teacher is 20..thus equation is y-x =20
