why u r assuming side of square when it is given 9

Question:

A cubic metre of copper weighing 9000 kg is rolled into a square bar 9 m long. An exact cube is cut off from the bar. How much does the cube weighs ?

B)

5003    kg

9 is not the side of square its the length of the bar. Hence Volume of square(cross-section) bar is 9*a^2
