Dear Student,

Need to see number of pairs of words have as many letter as in English alphabet:

CAMBRIDGE

In forward direction:

A _ _ _ _ _ G

In reverse direction:

DG

So, required number of pair= 2

In the pair BD, number of letters between B and D in the word CAMBRIDGE is two i.e. RI means B(RI)D, but in our English Alphabet only one letter between B and D i.e. B(C)D. So, it can not be considered as the required pair.

All the Best.
