why not 520+1040?

Question:

A passenger sitting in a train of length 520 m, which is running at a speed of 80 km/h crossing two platforms. He notices that he crosses the first platform and second platform in time interval which are in the ratio of 8 : 5 respectively. If the length of first platform is 1040 m. Then the length of second platform is –

It's because the person in the train is crossing the platform, not the train. So the train length shouldn't be considered.
