why cant i mark 8 as answer (Question:488596.0)

if i take 6 in olace of 8..we get the difference as 2.5,3,2.5,3

Question:

Find the wrong number in the given series:

8, 8.5, 11.5, 14, 17

Options:
A)

8

B)

8.5

C)

11.5

D)

14

Solution:

Ans: (b) The series is:

8 + 1.5 = 9.5

9.5 + 2 = 11.5

11.5 + 2.5 = 14

14 + 3 = 17

Hence, there should be 9.5 in place of 8.5
